I booked a hair appointment with a stylist I had never met but was assured she was highly skilled due to being a "level 3 stylist" The stylists were all very friendly and the salon was lovely. But my cut and color came out terrible. The balayage I asked for turned out to be my hair painted with a stark line between root and new color. The layers I asked for are a single layer that is not blended. And my hair is fried now from the amount of painted blonde. I did call back and have a different stylist fix the stark line of color. The manager was kind and the new stylist was very sweet also. Unfortunately I won't be back regardless because I don't trust how the salon judges the stylist skills and I can't risk any more damage to my hair. read more

I have never left a negative review in my life but I feel that this is necessary. I booked a lash lift / tint and brow wax with Aubrey A and left very disappointed. The brow wax was okay, but a few areas on all sides of my brows still had hairs that were not removed. Unfortunately, the lash lift was much worse. I have had multiple lash lifts before visiting Aura Salon, and all previous technicians I have visited were able to lift my lashes quite a bit. Not only did I notice virtually no difference after my lash lift with Aubrey, but my eyes were incredibly red and irritated. Upon closer inspection of my eyes when I left the salon, I also noticed residual glue stuck to my eyelids and inside the corners of my eyes. I was excited to visit Aura Salon after reading other reviews, but I am very disappointed with my experience and will not be returning. read more

The inside looked nice, the staff were friendly, and the person doing my hair was also nice and talkative, but the problem is she did not do that great of a job. It looked like she had no idea what she was doing and was just cutting away at my hair. She did not wet my hair before she started cutting, because hair shrinks when it dries, and she didn't want it to be "too short" but she then continues to cut my hair too short. When i went home some strands of hair were 2 - 3 inches longer than the other and had to cut it myself. I did get level 1 service but i didnt think it would be this bad. I feel like any hairdresser could atleast keep the sides even read more

This a a great salon that offers a huge service menu. I booked an afternoon to treat myself. I started with Lauren who did a great eyebrow shaping wax. Then I was handed off to Amanda for a 90 minute swedish massage with a 30 minute reflexology session and I finished with a 25 minute foot bath, complete with a glass of wine. The service was sublime from check in to check out. The only minor issue was that the time schedules were not followed. My massage started a little late, at 3:50 and ended at 5:20. The reflexology was included however the full time was not given for both the massage and the the add on treatment. It was $42 for the add-on and I was too relaxed to really notice the service wasn't fulfilled at the time. It's not a big deal and I would return and stick to just the services with no add-ons. read more

We booked make up and hair services for a wedding. The suite provided to us while getting services done was spacious and they allowed us to bring in our own food and champagne. They were prepared with schedules and timing but caused the party to be late due to communication issues on their behalf. There were many problems with both services requiring them to redo and make adjustments. When given direction about preferences for hair and make up we were shut down and questioned. This lead to a delay in wedding events and ultimately caused many of us to stop advocating and required us to do our own make up and touch ups. We also would have appreciated having make up and hair seated near each other. Lastly, it was made known to us by staff about their inexperience when we were asking for requests and changes. Overall, the experience was less than ideal for a bridal group and bride trying to look their very best for the wedding day. This review is dedicated to future brides and bridal parties to maybe find a different salon if you're looking for a specific vision. read more

This place knows what they are doing. Period. Alessandra has color corrected, cut, colored and done the "the smoothing treatment" with my hair. I drive an hour each way and it's worth every minute. This particular stylist is edgy and sassy, and I believe she's been in this industry for 13 or 14 years and is a Master Stylist. She is excellent, and from what I know the whole staff is as well. The salon itself - when you walk in you are taken back by the relaxing feel of the space. Lots of natural lighting, super clean, beautiful chandeliers, AND on Saturdays they offer you wine. While you wait and get you salon/spa services "taken care of". The receptionists are focussed and pay attention to what you need whether it's over the phone or at the front desk. They have been trained well and it shows. I haven't tried the spa services for facials or massage. Yet. Stay tuned! read more

I cannot speak to the entire salon, but the women I went to was terrible. I showed her a picture of how. I wanted my hair and she refused to cut it that way. She stated that it was a "90's" hair style and she was going to bring me into the 2000's and proceeded to cut it the way SHE wanted to cut it. I was begging her to cut it the way I like it (who was paying for it anyway?), she flat out refused. It was almost to the point that we were arguing. She was too busy trying to be cute and funny to listen to what I was asking for. Not only is it two inches shorter than wanted, it just hangs there; it is absolutely terrible. This is my favorite part though.....she noted that the hair style I wanted drew attention to my mouth area which was unattractive, so she decided to cut it shorter to draw attention to my cheekbones? Well now my hair is also unattractive. Its lovely not getting what you want, but also being insulted in the process. read more

I just moved to Denver and I was terrified of finding a salon. They did an amazing job pairing me with a stylist who did an absolutely flawless job on my tricky platinum hair. I am very particular about how it looks so I am thrilled! I also asked to add on an eye brow wax and they had an esthetician bring me to the spa and do a full service wax, it was great. I also bought some product that smells and works amazing. Best of all, the price was very reasonable. The other top salons around the area quoted me at a ridiculous amount, I was very pleased with the price ranges here. Can't wait for my next visit! Can only say good things about this place!! As a treat while visiting my family my mother offered to have me get my hair done so she tried getting my an appointment with Kate, who I have heard is amazing, and my mothers hair lady, who happened to be busy that day so they booked me a cut and color with Wendy. When I got their the staff was very friendly and offered me a drink, and Wendy was a very sweet lady. As I took my seat Wendy asked me what I wanted, I wanted an all over color with think highlights. She matched my color to the one I wanted and she went to mix the color. I waited about 30 minutes to start my hair color. She took 2 1/2 hours just to color my hair. She was half way through my color when she asked if I wanted a cut. I said yes, thats what I was scheduled for she had no idea. At about an hour and 45 minutes into the coloring process I asked if we were going to be done soon because I had some where to be-I had no idea it would take 2.5 hours to dye my hair and had made plans 3 hours after my hair appointment was to begin. Wendy said she wouldnt be able to cut or blow dry my hair since I had to leave. My all over color came out perfect, but my highlights are spotty and randomized and you can only see two of them when I style my hair. She did them diagonally from back left to right front rather then straight, like Ive had other hair professionals do. They are small highlights and nothing like the chunky thick ones I had asked for. I even showed her a picture of the highlights I wanted because I have had them done before. I am less then satisfied with my highlights. As I checked out the front desk was rather nice but they dont take American Express so my mother had to bring her other card in since she had given me her AMEX. She also asked the front desk lady if 2.5 hours is the typical time for a color and she said yes red is a color that takes longer to process. Having been a red head for two plus years, it takes the same amount of time as other colors, 15-20 minutes. We paid and my mother also asked what they had scheduled me for since she didnt realize I needed a cut as well and they just said a color, so I was also booked for less then what I had asked for. I wish they would have paid more attention to detail, time, and listened to what I wanted to have done to my hair. I am less then happy with my hair, and feel like I need to make another appointment somewhere in my hometown to get it fixed. They were very friendly, I just hope their services would have stuck up to their recommendations. read more
