Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They do full servicing of machines and sell them as well. I took my brother c6000i to be serviced, and although it took 3 weeks on the dot to get it back, they were forthcoming about the wait time and I was pleased with the result. I look forward to buying my next machine from them. The store has probably every attachment you could purchase for your machine. However, the majority up on the record quilting. Not used to me since I'm mostly a costumer. But regardless, I look forward to my next visit. read more

My husband bought me a sewing machine for my birthday and I came in for questions and help to get started. I know I don't know much but I was hoping I would be assisted with more information. They told me before I start to do the online class for my machine. I asked to help with buying supplies, such as thread and what would be good. Still I felt like I was not welcomed here. I did end up buying a carrier for my machine and some thread which I found out from my friend was not good for the machine. When I am ready to get into my quilting, I will try the store in Aurora. Hoping they will be more helpful. I felt like a fish out of water in the store. read more

A friend asked me to find some specific patterns at local area quilting stores. Since I'm not a quilter these stores are not places I typically stop in. I was in the area for other things and hit up two of the quilting places on Transit. This one is on the West side North of Transit. Has easy parking, but you may drive by before you realize it if not careful. It's a large store with plenty of bolts of material around. I could not figure out if there was a system to the bolt organization but perhaps there is. If I had been here before visiting another quilting store and a sewing store as well I might have given it more stars. But compared to the welcoming environments and organization of the other places this store is A-OK. But it is locally owned and that's terrific. read more

I started taking beginner classes here last week. I have learned sooo much in just a few hours. The staff is very friendly. No one is trying to oversell sell me on anything and they seem genuinely interested in me and my 'new sewer' needs. I'm looking forward to learning more! read more

I just want to say that the service here is Spectacular!!!!! I took my sewing machine in to figure out what was going on with it, and why it kept bunching up underneath everything I sewed. The fix was so simple and quick that they didn't even charge me. (There was also nothing wrong with my machine either). They did not try to get over on me either. Everyone here was so nice and helpful, (especially Abby) that I ended up buying a few things just to show my appreciation. I love this place already and will be going back there soon. read more

Nice little shop, super friendly staff who all really know what they're doing. If you're a quilter you'll be in heaven here; if your sewing interests lie in other directions you might not find much of interest. The fabric selection is heavily geared towards quilting, and so are the notions and supplies they sell. There's a great big workspace for classes and seminars, which they run on beginner to advanced levels on quilting and other sewing topics. The reason I went was that they're an authorized Bernina dealer and servicer, and the forty-year-old machine I inherited from my grandmother needed a tuneup. I'm pretty sure some of the staff had never seen a machine as old as mine in the shop, but they assured me that the technicians would know their way around it. Two weeks and a hundred bucks later I've got it back, and will be putting it through its paces soon. Their service charge is $99 plus parts, and if they end up needing to replace more than $50 worth of parts they'll call you before they do it. Fortunately mine didn't need anything replaced. (Switzerland, first the watches and the chocolate, and now this. What can't you do?) read more

I bought a sit down long arm from Aurora Sewing Center in East Aurora three years ago. Jim, the operations manager, was the one who helped me test drive the machine and when I made my purchase, told me to call him with any questions I had as I learned to use my machine and he would do his best to resolve any issues over the phone or email. He has done that and I really appreciate it since I am more than an hour away and bringing my longarm in would be a chore. My most recent issue was with a part I needed for my machine. Jim contacted the manufacturer with my issue, I received the part in a timely manner and Jim also sent pictures to help me install it. I have also shopped the store for fabric, etc (hubs buys me a gift certificate there every Christmas). The staff is very helpful and friendly, and they are so helpful to hubs when he makes his yearly call! I have visited both the Williamsville and Aurora stores and love them both. They are the best and I will recommend them to anyone. I only wish I lived closer to them!! read more

I've been to this shop quite a few times over the past few years. It is hit or miss the service you get. Sometimes it's busy, which I can understand. Of my friends, I'm not the only one to have issues waiting for a long time for an order to come in, being quoted one price, but being charged something else. Overall the shop is ok, but inconsistent, some people who go out of their way to help you, when others don't seem to care if customers come back or not. read more

This is a great place if you are interested in quilting or embroidery. The only downside is that the owner is usually never present. She is always at the Sewing Center in East Aurora. If you go to this shop and you have questions about any projects or machinery, you have to come back another day for when the owner is in. The other workers are not experienced enough to answer any questions. But if you are an experienced sewer and know your way around the shop, you'll have a great time. I myself enjoy a good browsing. If you are learning to sew, then you're better off visiting the Center in East Aurora. It's far away, but all your questions will be answered by the owner. read more

One of my favorite quilt shops in western New York. They offer a variety of classes year round, have the newest and neatest products and are always willing to find whatever it is you are looking for. Staff is very knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge and help a lady out! And guest speakers!!!! My Janome machine was malfunctioning in the middle of a project, and I needed a timely and professional repair. After calling around, I decided on Aurora Sewing Center. The other places I called only had a repair technician one or two days a week or they shipped the machines to out-of-state service centers. I was impressed that Aurora has full-time on-site repair on their lower level. I dropped off my machine and had it expertly repaired in only three days. I only had to pay the quoted service fee, and there was nothing else added on. Machine now works perfectly and I am very pleased. While there I browsed the store and was amazed at the selection of machines, materials, and other sewing supplies. A class that was in progress looked like fun and I intend to join one in the future. read more

I like the relatively large selection. I wish that they offered garment sewing classes. And I wish that they offered some lighter weight fabrics of the designers they stock for garments, eg: voiles. read more

Not a very large store with limited fabric. But more than that the staff/owner are not very pleasant. Not even an acknowledgement when you enter the small shop, and it is truly small enough that they are aware that you are there. I would not go there again as they made me feel as if I was disturbing them by being there. read more

Inviting, clean property and store. Helpful, pleasant counter staff. Repair service staff not available on weekends. Authorized dealer used UNauthorized part. Repairs need repairs. I brought my Babylock Eclipse Serger in for the first-ever maintenance and a belt replacement. I trusted that they are an authorized dealer, they would use only Babylock parts and maintenance would replace worn or broken parts. I pointed out that I had a special extended thumb screw to have frequent and easy access to clean out lint from the cutter blades (Mine is an older model - newer models have a spring-loaded door for this). Two weeks later, I picked up my machine. Within days, finished the edges of a table cloth and napkins when my sweet Babylock began rattling with metal-flapping sounds. Back to the pleasant counter staff, but had to leave it because no repair staff on weekends. A few days and it was ready again. Explanation was the cover for the bulb was disengaged. That never happened before service. Next try: all was quieter, but the thumb screw had been replaced with a screw that did not hold the clean-out cover on tightly. After many unanswered emails with pictures of the original screw, the repairman seeing that it did not fit without an explanation and a replacement old used screw that fit but did not have the extension to easily grab, then a few calls; I was sent two tiny machine screws from the East Aurora location (was that sarcasm?). I ordered another online for $24. My Babylock serger is an investment. I take great care to make it last. I expected an authorized dealer to do the same. The incidents of this maintenance service caused my concern enough to take it to another repair person recommended by the owner of a teaching school. He found that the $14.99 belt Aurora charged me for was a black rubbery belt with a slit in it ( A $2.00 value in new condition ) - far from a Babylock quality belt. And the slit? The metal rod that supports the machine carry handle was broken. The worn needle screws were not replaced. The wires between the switch and motor had been twisted together, no electrical tape, nor wire cap, nor soldered. Would I buy a machine from an authorized dealer who has no respect for their products? Is poor maintenance and repair an avenue to sell more machines for a dealer? read more
