Aka Jake) was so nice and fun, and knew all the best coves to anchor and swim. The boat was clean, had an amazing sound system, and plenty of space for our group to relax and dance. After booking, the owner informed me it was required and that my options were to pay it or cancel the trip. My issue wasn't with tipping--it was that the total cost changed after I had already booked. I contacted Getmyboat support, but they told me owners set their own fees, and I ultimately felt I had no realistic choice but to pay since our trip was only a few days away. I was also originally told I could pay the gratuity in cash on the day of the trip, but a few days beforehand I was told it had to be paid in advance through Venmo. On the day of the trip, the boat arrived about 20 minutes late for pickup, and I found the captain to be unprofessional. He smoked weed and drank during the chatter and made us stop on the way back so he could jump into the water to urinate. The boat itself was exactly what we expected, but the lack of transparency about mandatory fees and the overall professionalism left a negative impression. I hope future guests are informed of all required charges before booking so they can make an informed decision. Even with private reviews and information given the owners never reached out or apologized for the whole experience. Would not recommend this place

James was waiting for us at the dock with the jet ski already in the water when we arrived. After a quick but thorough overview on safety and operation, we were on the water. In our 2 hours we made it down to Mansfield Dam and then over to the 360 bridge before coming back to the dock. The jet ski worked flawlessly and we had a ton of fun. We had a great experience with Lake Austin Water Sports and would highly recommend them for renting a watercraft and having some fun on the water.

I planned my celebration around that experience. At 11am the day of my 3pm reservation, I got a call saying there was an engine issue and that I was being moved to a "better" boat. When we arrived, it was clear that it wasn't (Shaken not Stirred). It may have been newer or had a bigger engine, but it had a completely different layout and vibe, which was exactly what I booked for. If this had been the option when I booked, I would have chosen a different boat or looked at other rental companies. What disappointed me most was the response. Before I even asked about a refund or discussed any possible solutions, one of the owners immediately said, "You're not getting a refund." At that point, I wasn't asking for one. I just wanted to understand my options. That set a defensive tone instead of a customer-centered one. I completely understand that mechanical issues can happen, and I don't fault a company for something unexpected. What I do expect is transparency, empathy, and some attempt to make it right. There was no sincere apology, no acknowledgment of the disappointment, and no offer to accommodate despite the last-minute change. My friends encouraged me to go ahead so we wouldn't lose the day, and we still had fun, but that was because of the people I was with and Captain Neil, who was professional and excellent. Before we left, the owners asked us not to leave a bad review, which felt disappointing given that the focus could have been on making things right. I left feeling dismissed and like I paid full price for an experience I did not choose. I can't confidently recommend this company based on how this was handled. If you do book, I'd encourage asking up front what happens if the boat you've reserved becomes unavailable and to be prepared for the possibility of last-minute changes.

Martin replied quickly and thoroughly via text, and we were able to make a less than 6 hour booking work. To our surprise, Martin wasn't just our captain, he's also the owner of Splash Weird! For a 3-hour rental, the total was $720, which included the captain, a lily pad, and gratuity (though additional tips are always appreciated)!! The launch point is in Lake Travis at Mansfield Dam Park. Since it's a public, county park, you're required to pay $5pp upon entry (CASH ONLY). Once inside, make sure to park on the left side for the closest access to the dock! Unfortunately, as of 9/18/25, the dock is closed for maintenance--so Martin will launch the boat with you already on board!

This company has zero resources; we got lucky, two guys on a boat saw us and helped tow the jet ski. Spent more time on the jet ski being towed than actually riding it. Once we got to the shore, they didn't give me extra time or another jet ski, didn't return a dime from my rental payment and accused me for breaking their jet ski. Literally blamed me in front of other customers. For someone who absolutely loves jet skiing this was the worst experience ever! I won't be renting from them again.

"I'm really sorry but that time slot should have been blocked off on the website. The only thing we would be able to do is a 7pm start time." To rectify the situation he sent me some contacts -all of which were completely booked. I was able to receive a refund for my deposit but I would have wanted to know that this is their process before booking hence writing this review. I work in travel so I believe in transparency with these sorts of things.
