Unfortunately, our experience did not match those expectations. During a trial day, a young autistic child became upset after a developmentally typical frustration in a new environment. Instead of observing the calm support, co-regulation, and individualized approach we expected from a program with this stated level of expertise, we experienced a response that felt escalating rather than supportive. There were also concerns with the emotional regulation of the leading staff member, and online records that reinforced concerns related to emotional regulation and safety. The biggest concern was the disconnect between the program's stated philosophy and what we observed in practice. A moment that could have been handled as an opportunity for connection, regulation, and teaching instead left us questioning whether the environment was truly equipped to support autistic children in the way it represents, or any child. Ultimately I did not feel comfortable trusting my daughter to Magnolia. I am grateful we had the opportunity to see this before the school year began, but it was disappointing to have to reconsider so close to the start of school after believing we had found the right fit. Every child deserves a program whose practices match its promises.

This was the cleanest and safest ( private security ) option in Austin. The teachers genuinely care and the gym class/new inclosed playground is amazing for busy little bodies. The low student to teacher ratio is key, and they even bring in authors from the local book store for story time. Ashley is incredibly thoughtful and the care and love that has gone into the school is visible from day one.

Leaving this school was the hardest part. My son started when he was 2, he could barely speak and was SO shy. When we left, he was so confident, a true leader, and LOVED school. Hannah in the office decided to run her card and proceed not to answer her phone calls. We understand you have a system that auto-enrolls people in programs one full month at a time. The fact is we were contacted directly by the coach to set up a first lesson and had no further contact with your administration about scheduling the follow-up. We sent emails asking that we only be charged for the lesson attended, and as yet they are unanswered.

We love the small school feel of it, with community and teachers who know the children well. The school is an establishment in the community, and I meet many people with grown kids who attended there. My kids love the shady playground, and my older kid who is no longer there still maintains that it has the best swings in Austin. There is also a nice open indoor hall for rainy or hot days, as well as activities like Soccer Shots they offer. There is a healthy breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack cooked each day by the school chef. The school is play based and focused on learning through play, which I think is perfect for this age. The staff provides a caring, safe, supportive and educational environment for the children, with a bonus of prioritizing social-emotional learning and Montessori-esque methods. Our kids have been excited to go to school every day (huge win) and I'm so grateful not to have to pack a breakfast, lunch or snack because it's all offered by the school (and included in the tuition!). Four days later Jennifer, the registrar, called and left a voicemail at 5 pm. I call back within 10 minutes and she has already left for the day. Another two days of trying and no return phone call. I can't imagine sending a child here and expecting any type of meaningful feedback on a timely basis. I guess they have so many potential students due to the area so they don't care about returning calls. Must be solely due to location.

Coming back to ballet as a teen was tough, and I was struggling to find classes that would accommodate my beginner status and more advanced age (compared to the younger kids that would be in the same level) elsewhere. I was very pleasantly surprised when I called the lovely front desk there and learned that there was a perfect class for me! My instructors have been incredible and always kind and supportive, and I can't wait to continue dancing with them! I've grown so much as a dancer with this establishment, and it has brought so much joy to me! I would like to add that I once experienced a panic attack during class due to external stress with school, and the staff handled it perfectly and helped me out so much! They are also always willing to help with scheduling and leveling issues. I love this place and will continue to dance with them until I graduate in two short years!
