Now we drive from Cedar Park all the way to south Austin because Dr. Babot and her staff are totally worth the drive. We were recommended by a close friend to bring our 6-year old daughter here. We brought her and she was evaluated for the first time by Melanie Babot. She was not complaining about any issues, this was just a regular checkup. The office is very kids friendly and they are very nice with both adults and kids. They found some cavities, and after cleaning/evaluating, they performed a pulpotomy and several fillings over the course of the next few days. Soon after that, my daughter developed an abscess in the tooth in which they performed the pulpotomy, and when we brought her over again, they told us that tooth had to be removed. At this point, after paying $1500, and putting our daughter through anesthetics/sedatives, we are feeling that instead of improving, her dental health is declining. This drove us to make a decision and take her to our traditional dentist office, that does not just specialize in kids. The new dentists confirmed that the tooth had to be removed, and after removing the tooth, they showed us how terrible of a job was done on her teeth. Her teeth were not properly sealed during the filling procedure, allowing for cavities / abscess to develop really quickly. We had to spend another couple thousands of dollars again, in order to repair and correct what was done before, and we are keeping a close eye on the other teeth hoping that they improve with all the repairs. I would definitely not recommend this dental office or Melanie Babot to anyone. Their office kids oriented and they treat their little patients well, but at least in our case, the procedures were executed so poorly, that we would have been much better not taking our daughter to the dentist. read more

We have been bringing our son to Austin Kids Teeth since he was 18 months old. He's now 5, and love his dentist! Dr. Melanie(Babot) has been his regular dentist; she is fantastic at helping your kiddo not be intimidated by being in the chair. She even got our son to agree to his first X-ray's last fall(at 4.5) I like that she doesn't push fluoride unless medically necessary and then recommends it only until it's not needed. The office is designed well, with plenty of toys to play with, hold onto or for parents to distract with. We have also seen Dr. Mary(Fusilier) and she was great as well. They take insurance, but check first for tour plan,.of course. Feel confident and secure that Austin Kids Teeth will take the best care of your littles! read more

My 5 year old daughter was scared to go to the dentist. She had been with me a few times and I think that freaked her out a little. When I called to make the appt, I told them that and they assured me they would take care of her. When we went in, we did have to wait a little (appt was at 7:45 and we got in at 8:00) but the dental hygienist was amazing. She knew just what to say to my daughter to put her at ease. We see a dentist up north but my 18M had a fall on Friday night and we saw Dr. Matthew Johnson, the on-call dentist, on Saturday morning and he was wonderful. He worked with our schedule and made the process of seeing a new provider very easy. The office was extremely clean and my son loved it. Austin Kids teeth is awesome!!!! I recently took my 3 1/2 year old son to see these guys and we had an amazingly positive experience. This was NOT my kiddos first time at a dentist. We went to another place when he was about 1 1/2 and it was a nightmare!!! Thank GOD this visit will be the first in his memory. These ladies know what they are doing! They have all kinds of tricks/toys/props to get even the squirlliest of kiddos to relax in the chair. The office is bright, colorful and super clean. It is even decorated with adorable hand made art pieces that are interactive for the patients. There are toys and prizes. They have every single angle covered! Everyone in there from the receptionist to the hygienist to Dr. Babot was extremely warm and friendly. I have a similar experience as J.W. with the doctor being really pushy with sedatives. Our kids came here for almost two years, everything was fine. The office is very kid friendly: books, toys everywhere. They loved getting a prize from a treasure box. I give these guys credit, as they helped my kids not be afraid of the dentist. However, when the time came to do dental work, Dr. Babot insisted on general anesthesia. I explained I was not comfortable doing it as my son had a murmur. She was cranky and acted like I don't know what I am talking about. She assured me that in her 28 or whatever years of practice nothing bad ever happened, but eventually she agreed to do laughing gas. At the appointment she was impatient, did only one of two fillings, and said she would only be able to do the other one under GA. Yup. So we went to another dentist (my dentist who works on adults AND kids) who confirmed my suspicion that the procedure was not urgent and there certainly was no need in general anesthesia. I understand it is easier to work on kids when they are knocked out. However, when I started questioning the safety of those sedatives, I was met with a glare, clenched teeth, and judgy snappy responses. So we are not going back there. read more

I love this team!!! We have been going to Austin Kids Teeth for 5 years and my kids LOVE going to the dentist! Seriously. Our kids are so comfortable that we've never had to use the option of putting on a movie except for once when our daughter had a tooth pulled. Our regular dentist is Dr Babot but we have seen Dr Fuselier when Dr Babot hasn't been available for some last minutes appointments. They are both fabulous, very warm, very willing to answer questions (including some of the crazy ones I happen to come up with). The hygienists are also so fabulous, their smiles are huge, and they a so gentle with the kids. They both give great feedback on what is going right and what can be improved for taking care of your kids' teeth. The back office is also a pleasure to work with. I didn't feel like my opinion was valued regarding the (over)use of sedatives and nitrous oxide in their office and was billed for an "exam" when the dentist spent a total of sixty seconds looking in my child's mouth.
