NYE 2011 was a scene! I saw so much excitement and leg in here. Mere hours to the big countdown and you would think the party was in here. A decent booze shop when shopping for that in this area. Also, it happened to be one of few shops still open till midnight on NYE. This is one of THE shops for Skokie and Evanston peeps and if you know drinking age people you could possibly bump into them in here. Decent selection and a few varieties you haven't seen elsewhere. I only come here for junk food, and because it is in route to my job. Dis 'Liqa sto' is my life saver on mornings when I haven't eaten anything, so yeah. I only come here for their short supply of junk food: cheap brand potato chips; candy bars; soda; and beef jerky, because its convenient to me while headed to work. For some odd reason, I get the feel of being in a hardware store when I come here, I don't know why. Could be due to the employees, or maybe it may have been a hardware store in the past. During my visits here, I have seen middle aged men that hang out outside of dis 'Liqa sto', but I try not to make eye contact, because I know how that goes, but other than all that I have experienced here, I have been treated none less of a customer. read more

Literally walked in, grabbed wine, went to the counter, pulled out my card, waited for it to process, signed my receipt (after a pen wasn't handed to me), was slid my wine, and walked out. Did you notice that no words ( Hello, waddup, thanks) were exchanged?? This has happened on five occasions and it's with my own in there. I like when the ex cop or the two other ( hate to say it) non-black dudes are there...it takes me back to my old neighborhood where going to the local store have you that good vibe. Can't say the same for this place, so I'd rather hit CVS going forward. You know that's a shame when someone would rather CVS and those long ass receipts. One of my go to liquor stores. This place doesn't have too big a selection, but what they do have is priced very fairly. It's a quick in and out, no frills kind of place if you're looking for commonly found liquor. They also have a nice wine cellar in the back with a decent selection of imported wine. read more

I went their a couple years back and the guy working behind the counter didn't think it was me on the ID. That has never happened to me before. I think it's because every white person looks the same to him. Retarded. I went another time last 4th of July with an updated ID. I was with my girlfriend (who looks older than me) and my friend. My friend and I had our IDs and were the only 2 buying beer. My gf wasn't buying at all, but he wouldn't sell to us because she didn't have an ID. What kind of garbage operation are you running? A very decent place. Good prices. Staff are very friendly and funny. Good sports fan, and not bad to a chat or two about baseball, football or even soccer (the real football). My only gripe, as with any establishment like this, is being followed to my car by beggars. I've experienced this down town as well, so not an uncommon experience. Overall a great place. read more

I went there for the first time and I liked it. The guy (I think he is a co-owner) was really cool and knows how to sell. I liked the fact that their prices are very competitive. I did a price comparison with Binny's and Austin's Liquors came cheaper. Some items were as much as $10.00 cheaper than the average liquor store. I like their yellow (sale) tagged items. I Don't drink much but I am building my own mini bar at home and I bought most of the items that were on sale (sold t cost). Good place. I will most likely do most of my shopping there. read more
