This is a family friendly show with quite a few craft and several dessert venders as well as lots of exotic pets and supplies. My son loved seeing all of the cool varieties of snakes, as well as lizards, geckos, turtles, and frogs. This expo also had mammals. We got to hold a hedgehog, and the sugar gliders were so adorable. I even managed to pick up a couple of Christmas presents (crafts, not animals.) If you are looking for an exotic pet, this is the best way to get one. Mike and his snakes, lizards and tortoises, are wonderful. Mike was so good with the kids, even my wild, reptile obsessed 6 year old. Austin Reptile Show came out and did a show for my 1st and 2nd graders at Hornsby-Dunlap elementary to great success. Michael and his animals were easily the highlight of my after-school class, and the show was both engaging and entirely hands on. This was not your average sit and watch while someone drones and shows you animals you can't touch show. The kids got to hold various lizards and snakes and learned an incredible amount of information that supplemented the learning they'd been doing all semester all while Michael dealt extremely well with my rowdy group and their inability to keep from talking in their excitement. He was incredibly patient with the kids who were scared of the animals and by the end almost all of them were as engaged as those who had been eager from the start. I would absolutely recommend Austin Reptile Show to anyone looking for a hands-on, live demonstration with some really neat animals. The service was top notch, and the kids were amazed and engaged. The alignment with the TEKS was an added bonus! Protip: If you can spare the money, add the extra 15 minutes to the end of your show. Each second is worth it! read more

Mike just did a birthday party for us today, for my nine year old...BOY! Let me say - that is a lot of boys holding a lot of reptiles, and he was very calm, educational, and peaceful, to share information with all those boys! He took all questions from the kids and gave great answers back. His pets were very well behaved, thank goodness ;) and the kids (and adults) had a blast. It was a memorable experience and even our 3 year old daughter had no quams with holding the snakes.
