Our family has been part of Rising Stars for over 6 years now. All 4 of our boys have been part of the pre-school and have loved it. The lead teachers have multiple years of experience, and we see VERY LOW TURNOVER through the academic year. This has been a key difference between rising stars and other schools, and goes a long way in creating a stable environment for our kids to grow and thrive in. The school director is very good in communicating proactively and I have appreciated their leadership around the whole pandemic. Keeping the kids interests first has been their clear #1 priority and gives me great confidence in continuing to send my precious little ones to the school. They also have a lot of flexibility in choosing what times you want your kids to at their facility, which is a plus. The one down side is that they require you to pack lunches and snacks. It is definitely a chore to do, but all the benefits outweigh this aspect. If you are looking for a new day care in this area, definitely recommend checking it out. If anything talk to other parents who have their kids enrolled. I am confident that other parents are also just as excited about this school as we are. read more

I honestly can't say enough great things about this school. We enrolled our son here for Pre-K after having him at a different school across town for 2 years. He never liked going to the previous school. We thought he just didn't like school. We were wrong! Since day 1 at Rising Stars he LOVES school. He's excited to go. Everything about this place exceeded our expectations. He's flourished there academically and socially. They've managed to create a warm and loving environment that makes the kids feel safe and seen while still delivering on preparing them for Kindergarten. The teachers and staff are amazing and most have been there for 5-10 years which is unheard of in the preschool world. It's the sweetest place and I'm so grateful for all they've done to intellectually challenge our boy and build his confidence. My only regret is I didn't find Rising Stars sooner. We were so fortunate to find this gem of a place for our daughter. Our neighbor raved regarding Rising Stars to us and I was extremely eager to get our girl enrolled. We were initially on the waitlist but shortly after a spot opened up. We had our share of daycare runs as we moved between states but hands down Rising Stars super exceeded my expectations in every way! Our daughter loved the curriculum here. She did so many crafts and projects, she enjoyed bringing home and talking about it. She learned so much while attending here and she was very much in love with her teachers. She was always so excited to go to school. The staff here is amazing, kind and passionate. They care for the children with the highest regard. They communicate effectively with parents. The facility is very clean and neat. Amy Gonzales is a wonderful director, and Alicia is definitely the den mother of the school. We loved our time at Rising Stars! The teachers & staff are wonderful and the other families too. Summer camp is also great! It's a very safe school as well in a nice area! I LOVE this preschool! And my daughter loves it too! She's 18 months, and did a mother's day out type program before this school. That place was great too, but they could never get her to nap. After 1 week here, they were able to get her to nap with no fussing and stay asleep the whole nap time! Her sign language has improved too! It's true what others have said about the staff. Our son started here when he was 2 1/2 years old after being in an in-home daycare since 6 weeks old. While it was a hard adjustment for him it was the best decision we could have made! We absolutely love this place and the teachers are fantastic! My husband and I both work so our son had to attend both before care and after care. I don't know if it's because of this or the fact that the teachers are just really attentive and in the know, but I feel like all of the teachers there know him and actually care about him. Even the teachers that never actually had him in their class. And I really can't say enough good things about Ms Cookie and Ms Amy! They are absolutely amazing! When I drop him off it feels more like I'm dropping him off with family, not at a preschool. Our communication has always been fantastic, whether it's them reaching out to me, or me reaching out to them. And they are always willing to help me out and go the extra mile whenever possible. I'm so sad that my son is graduating tomorrow and moving on because I love this school so much! Rising Stars is a fantastic preschool! I only have great things to say about this school and I am so happy I found it for my daughter. Here's the scoop: 1. Everyone actually cares about the kids. No matter who you meet there, they all love these kids and take very good care of them. The teachers care and develop bonds with each child in the class. The teachers do little things to make the kiddos feel safe and comfortable. This was my daughter's first time ever being away from me. There were a few days where separation anxiety reared its head. Her teachers, Miss SaraBeth and Miss Mo, were always quick to give hugs and cuddles to ease her fears, as well as make me feel better about leaving my kid. It actually got to the point where she would tell me to just leave and come back later for her. 2. The kids love it there! My daughter would always tell me about what stuff she did with her teachers and how much fun it was. It was easily an hour conversation about her day every time I picked her up. She loved all of the activities they did and truly enjoyed her days at school. 3. Great variety of activities to stimulate the kiddos. They teach curriculum through play, which has been proven time and time again to be the best learning method for kids. The kids don't even know they are learning, they are just having fun. I also liked how they got outdoor play, weather permitting, every day to go and just have fun. Also, the crafts they did were just adorable! 4. They have something special each month for the kids. One month they had a fire truck and firemen come and meet the kids. They had a pizza party for the whole school at a park just to go play. They did a Halloween dress up party for everyone. There was always something special and fun going on. 5. The classrooms seem a bit bigger than many other places I looked at. Lots of room filled with fun stuff for the little ones. 6. Nice day length. The regular school day is from 9am-2pm. They also have before and after care, if needed. You can also add before/after care sporadically, as needed, even if it was just a day here and there. 7. Flexible schedules. My daughter is just starting, so she was in 2 days a week on Tuesday and Thursday. You can also do pretty much any days you want, if there is room. In my daughter's class, some kids were all 5 days, some had 4 in different orders, and some did 3. You could really arrange it however you want it, which is quite nice. 8. They require all kids be vaccinated. I know that's a big deal right now, it's nice to not have to worry about your kid getting measles from preschool. This is a fantastic school. We moved my 2yr old son over to Rising Stars after his previous school just wasn't cutting it anymore. Rising Stars has not only met the expectations I had where the other school has failed them but exceeded them. All of the staff are lovely and Amy is a great, caring director My son, who used to just scream bloody murder when we dropped him at his last place, now barely gives us a backwards glance when we bring him into RS in the morning. He is also learning all day long, which was an issue at the last place, and it makes me so happy to see how much he has come out of his shy shell with the other kids. The other night he came home and we asked him how his day was and he just said "it was good. I like my teachers, I played with my teachers." Given that his teachers didn't seem to like him at the last place and would even put him at a snack table all alone, this made me happier than I can put into words. My son has been attending Rising Stars for a year and a half and he absolutely loved it there! He has made friends and learned so much. He will be entering kindergarten knowing how to write his name and count by 5's! And he is sooooo close to reading! My only complaint is that they are a little heavy on the sweets. I don't understand why they think it's ok to give the children candy but when I try to put candy in his lunchbox (to try to thin the amount out) they tell him he can't eat it there? It's almost like they are aware of the effect candy has on children's behavior but continue to celebrate every occasion with cookies, candy, cake, pizza. I don't think it's a school policy but that specific teacher. I'm giving this Preschool five stars because that is what they deserve. My child is safe and learned there and you'd be surprised on how many other care centers that I've taken him to in Austin and couldn't trust that he would be ok. Had planned on sending my son here, enjoyed the tour, and was even OK with there being a waitlist and maybe needing to wait until the next semester. The real problem though was that they indicated my son absolutely had to be walking before he could be enrolled, and he has taken his time in developing motor skills. It turned out that I would have been waiting another year to year and a half to enroll him. Fortunately though I found an extremely good preschool just down the road who indicated right off the bat that they would never turn away a child who had not yet hit a specific milestone like that, "because every child develops differently". read more

I enrolled my son in Rising Stars when he was 1 1/2 with the intention of pulling him at 3 and putting him in our originally-intended pre-k that didn't take kids until the age of 3. Well, when he finally reached 3, I knew there wasn't a chance he'd leave and here we are 4 years later! I cannot say enough about this school. His teachers over the last 4 years have been the sweetest and most loving individuals. Best preschool hands down. I've taken my kids to several other preschools in the area (including a fancy high dollar one in my neighborhood) and this is the one that is probably the most nurturing, positive environment for my kid. The low (almost non-existent) turnover and low kid/teacher ratio helps provide a very loving, stable environment. They also have other "after-school" activities onsite - such as dance, Sportsball, cooking classes, and pre-K readiness. My daughter is reading, writing, and adding/subtracting - all before she starts kinder in the fall, and that's due to all the great teachers there and the family environment the director and staff have created. We've been at Rising Stars for almost a year. I decided to go back to work in August 2018. My daughter had just turned 2 and I had her enrolled in the most expensive daycare I could find. If it cost that much it should be great, right? Wrong it was horrible. I almost quit my job but we found a nanny and changed my daughter to a Spanish immersions school part time. It was much better but she was getting sick constantly. The dr. told us we should take her out for a few months to let her bodY rest. Luckily that Spanish school had to put us on the waitlist and our nanny was no longer working out. So I had to find somewhere for my daughter to go full time. I say thankfully because this lead me to find Rising Stars and thankfully they had one spot left in the fox class. I was bracing for another anxiety filled drop off and day but to my surprise my daughter was instantly happy. Ms. Cookie sent me so many updates that first day and I was relieved! She is now in the Panda class and every day we walk in she tells me "I love this school!" I can't tell you what a comfort it is to know your child is happy. I know this is due to the care and love Ms. Jenn and Ms. G give her. I stopped working in May and planned to keep her home with me but she begged me to go to school. Crazy!! She now does part time care MWF and we both couldn't be happier. I am so grateful to this school. read more

We've had 2 kids go through this preschool and have no doubt it is the best. The teachers are loyal, not high turn over, and they actually teach as opposed to just daycare. I can't believe I haven't written a review on this school yet. My daughter went to Rising Stars for 2 years before moving onto kindergarten, and my son has been there for 2 years, as well. I had tried every possible childcare scenario before finding this school- private nanny, 2 in-home daycares, a very expensive daycare facility, a Montessori school, a MDO, you name it. I would settle on childcare for about 6 months to a year and then switch to something new because I wasn't happy with the situation (good thing my daughter is so flexible!). Then, I found Rising Stars and have found no reason to switch. I work part-time (3 days a week) and it can be really challenging to find consistent, reasonably priced, high-quality part-time care. Rising Stars has been very accommodating with my schedule, but most importantly, their teachers are loving and invested in the kids. It's a small school where all of the teachers know all of the kids. The students interact with different teachers in before and after care. Both directors that they've had in the past 2 years have been warm and easy to talk to. One of my favorite aspects of the school is the fact that it's a Mother's Day Out program, but offers extended hours. This means that many teachers aren't at the school for ungodly amounts of time like at other daycares. The teachers seem fresh, positive, and happy. They really prepared my daughter for kindergarten and they love their students. What more could you ask for?! The school year runs August through June and they have 4 weeks of VERY FUN summer camps in July. Highly recommended! read more

My daughter just graduated pre-kindergarten from Rising Stars after 3 years of attending. She came home after an ADORABLE ceremony in cap and gown and told me, "I'm still kind of nervous, but I'm ready for Kindergarten because I already know all the stuffs." And then I died. These guys are amazing. Rising Stars is a second home for my family. Often when I'm coming to pick my daughter up from school, I fumble for my front door key before remembering I'm at Rising Stars-- it just feels so much like home! I really can't say enough amazing things about this school. When we first moved to Austin, three years ago, I needed to find a school for my son to attend. We were new to the area and I was looking for schools that were more typical of what I had in the NYC area, a full time school that was secular and play based while teaching the kids early academics. I was not interested in specialty type schools but more of a traditional preschool experience that had worked so well for my older two children. I found it hard to find! But then I discovered Rising Star Preschool and I have been enormously happy there ever since. My son has thrived, the teachers are top notch, the parents are an amazing community, the director available and interested, and the owners around and involved in the school. Its such a lovely place with people who really care about children. We will be saying our goodbyes in a few weeks and I am always going to miss coming through the door and seeing people who have, over the last three years, become a gift to my son and a joy to get to know. Rising Star Preschool has been a tremendous blessing for me and my family. We moved here 3 yrs. ago from California and choosing an adequate daycare for our 20 mo. old daughter was not an easy task especially since we didn't know anyone. The first day we stepped into RSP Mafel along with the entire RSP staff made us feel l like family right from the start. They were warm, loving and who could ever forget Mafel's smile. Everyone in RSP does an excellent job maintaining a clean, safe and fun environment for the children. They are so creative in so many levels that I could not have asked for a more perfect daycare. Now my daughter is turning 5 and she has displayed tremendous growth in her comprehension, language development, manners, and social interaction and we owe it all to the awesome teachers for their time and dedication invested in our daughter. Now she is learning how to read, and what can I say it hast been a true joy to see her light up whenever she shares all the new things she learned at school. This review is a hard one. On the one hand I hate to admit that I made a mistake in choosing someone to care for my child, but on the other hand I do not want others to make the same mistake. I chose Rising Stars based on the recommendation of a friend who had a great experience. I think if you have a child that conforms to rules and regulations easily you wouldn't have any issue. My son started at barely age 2. His first teacher was great in the toddler room. We didn't have any problems until we were moved to the next class. My son was one of the youngest and smallest in the class. His class had 8 toddlers, into a class with 16 kids. Almost immediately I started getting frequent emails telling me that my son was causing problems. The problems that my 2-year-old caused included 1)not getting in line to go outside 2)unrolling a whole roll of toilet paper when left alone in the bathroom 3) not wanting to make arts and crafts 4)not sitting still in circle time 5)running outside the class when the door was opened 6)climbing on everything. To me it is stuff that is expected of a 2 year old boy. To them it was "dangerous behavior". I was told that I needed to have my son assessed for autism. We had been assessed by the state of Texas Early Childhood Intervention twice for a speech delay, who told us we didn't qualify because his speech delay wasn't severe enough for ECI. My pediatrician, the professionals at ECI, my friend who is a pediatric nurse practitioner, myself as a nurse with 16 years of experience about to graduate as a Family Nurse Practitioner, none of us know what we are doing according to the director of the daycare, who somehow feels qualified to diagnose a child with autism. What hurts my heart is that I started to doubt my son and my own intuition and my own medical training. I actually called up a child behavior therapist. He told me everything was fine and that I have a normal child, with a speech delay. He wouldn't even take him as a patient because it was unnecessary. We had already made up our mind to change our daycare because of the constant emails and phone calls by the director and all of her "concerns" about his behavior. We were also concerned about how they didn't seem to be able to properly supervise the kids. My son had bite marks on him on 4 separate occasions. We were notified of the bites twice, and we found the marks ourselves twice. My son would be so dirty when we picked him up. They would just let his nose be crusted up, like it was never wiped. He would be outside with no shoes or socks. They said it was because he took them off, which I understand, but we would have no socks returned to us about 3 out of 5 days. One day when I picked him up he had red paint covering his hands while he was playing outside. I was told "well, I guess he snuck out". I almost had a heart attack because when he came running over I thought he was covered in blood. Then there was the sick child policy. So they can decide that your child is sick at any time, without following any real medical guidelines. No fever, but puked because he choked on an orange? He's sick-can't come back for 24 hours. Cough due to allergies? Yep-too sick. I was called once because he seemed tired and had a large bowel movement. Not diarrhea, but a large BM. Seriously. In a bad mood? That's right, they will call you to get your child because "they aren't getting anything out of the program". So if you depend on daycare because you have a job, be prepared for this fun little nuance of the sick policy. They also require a 30 day cancellation policy. We ended up skipping out and paying another place 2 weeks early just to get our son out. We are now at another daycare. The teacher called us in to talk and my husband and I braced ourselves to hear horrible things about our son. It was the opposite. She wanted to tell us that he's ready to learn more, and that she enjoyed him in her class. I'm giving 2 stars for our first few months that went well. My son seemed to like those teachers and he made improvements in his speech with them. I think that there were too many kids in the next class and that the teachers in that class did not have the inclination to work with my child. I hope this review helps other parents. read more

Wow what an amazing school. We have been sending our children to Rising Stars for the past 6 years. Both of our children have had amazing experiences. The staff and teachers are truly amazing and will do whatever is needed to help prepare your child for the next level. Mafel the owner is so accommodating and personable. She really cares about the children and the families. She has always been very approachable and will do whatever is needed to meet the families needs or concerns. By the time our oldest child got to kindergarten he was prepared above and beyond what we had expected. This really allowed him to take off in his academics. I enrolled my son last year after researching Pre-schools in the Cedar Park area. I wanted to enroll my son in a school that had an academic based approach to learning instead of play based. After visiting the school and meeting with Leah, the director, my husband and I were happy to send out son to Rising Stars. My son is very shy at first and after touring the school, he did not want to leave. His teachers in the "Caterpillar" class for kids 2-3 yrs old were loving, warm, friendly, everything you would want in a teacher. We were sad to say goodbye to them when moving up to the "Butterflies" class the next year. Both of his teachers in the "Butterfly" class are exceptional. You can just tell that they really love being with, and teaching your children. What a find! They have extra activities after school that are fun and educational. Currently our son attends the music class provided by Kindermusik, and a wonderful yoga class. Our son is always excited to go to school. We are amazed at what he learns everyday. We will be enrolling our daughter next year when she turns 2. I am happy knowing that my child is in such a loving, educational environment when away from home. I love Rising Stars Preschool! I'm a very picky person when it comes to my child's education. I am an educator for special needs. I was so excited when people in my local neighborhood recommended Rising Stars. I was greeted and given a tour by Amy the director. She is very competent as a director, and even answered all my crazy teacher questions. I must say I was nervous to have my child attend any preschool, but I knew for socialization it was needed. This preschool is small, and not a huge corporate daycare with teachers quitting or new teachers coming in randomly. The teachers here have been here a long time. The Ducklings class (18 months to 2) is lead by the most wonderful teacher ever (Ms. Silvia). She is THE most caring person, and the children absolutely love her. My child hates to leave when the day is over, that is how much fun is had. I was sad to say goodbye to Ms. Silvia this year as my child moved up. But the new teacher (who is a parent at the school as well.) is so kind an welcoming. I already know this year will be a hit. As for the director (Amy) and the assistant director (Cookie: nickname). They are the most friendly and my child loves saying hi to them. They also know all the children by name. I drilled Amy as any educator would and she answered all the questions with flying colors. They always answer promptly to my emails, even if it's just checking up on my child during the day. They work to accommodate your needs as they arise. The teacher have in-service days to hone in their teaching skills. They even using Handwriting Without Tears. This is THE best way to teach writing in my experience in special education. I was so surprised to hear they use that with the older children. As most preschools do not use this and just have the children copy letters or trace them. If you haven't heard about Handwriting Without Tears you should definitely look into it. This was what sealed the deal for me. Now as for the other negative reviews on this page. I understand the one person was upset over their child having to walk by 18 months. My child started late in the year due to not walking quickly by 12 months. However, I must say they were totally accommodating to this, and worked with me. I totally understand this person feeling upset. However, this school isn't a daycare for newborns to walking. This preschool is for students even young students who are able to walk. They don't have to be perfect walkers. But it's clearly stated when talking to Amy. As for the other review of the student having trouble and not listening. I'm sure that it was a misunderstanding, or the school wasn't a good fit for this particular child. Not every school is a good fit for everyone. However, the majority of people have had a wonderful experience, so don't let the negative reviews steer you away from this wonderful school. We LOVE Rising Stars Preschool! When we were new to the area, we did a did ton of research to find a great preschool in which to send our two little ones. From first inquiry to enrollment paperwork to the kids' first day (and now fast forward 3 years later), Rising Stars has exceeded our expectations. The teachers are AMAZING. They provide authentic, compassionate care to the students and plan fun classroom activities that keep the kids engaged and constantly learning. Our older child completed their PreK program and was more than prepared to start Kindergarten. Our younger child is happy and smiling when we arrive at pick up and some days, a little sad to go home. A Truely Excellent School My 5 year old daughter is about to graduate from Rising Stars Preschool. Rising Stars has been the perfect place for her, and we could not have been happier with the care, attention, and education that she has received for the past three years. Our five year old is quite advanced, and Rising Stars has gone out of their way to keep her working at her own pace and level. Her teachers have always strived to keep her interested and challenged, yet still ensured that she had fun. This is everything that we could have asked for. Rising Stars has a well deserved reputation for hiring excellent teachers and staff. All are college degreed, extremely competent, highly creative, well experienced, and care deeply about all the children at Rising Stars. From the first day, every teacher has known my daughter's name, and she theirs. She considers teachers that she has never had to still be her "friends," and she interacts all of them almost daily. All of the teachers also know US, the parents, and they are always friendly, smiling, and have kind word. We are going to miss Rising Stars very much. Our child has always been in the best of hands, and these excellent and loving hands have more than prepared her for Kindergarten and beyond. She leaves RSP knowing how to read, write, spell, sound out words, add, and subtract. I have already challenged her new elementary school principal to meet and beat the standards of education that my daughter has receceived at Rising Stars. Let's hope they are up to this challenged. I absolutely love Rising Stars Preschool. My son graduates from pre-k tomorrow, and my daughter graduated two years ago. Both my children have absolutely thrived at the school. The staff is incredibly loving and helps each child rise to their highest potential. We have been at the school for 4 years, and it feels like a second home. My kids and I have all made lifelong friends that we will cherish forever! This school is a hidden gem! read more

I absolutely love this school. My twins are in Pre-K now and have been attending since they were 18 months old. I cannot say enough good things about this school. The love and care they receive on a daily basis combined with the fantastic education they have received since their first day of enrollment is more than an overprotective mom could ever hope and wish for :) I wish that they had a kindergarten class for me to send them to. My son has been at Rising Stars going on 3 years now and we couldn't be happier. His progress has been wonderful and the teachers are phenomenal. I have put 3 kiddos through Rising Stars and have nothing but great things to say about this school! The teachers really love the kids, the place is very clean and cheery and there is a great energy about this school.
