So we booked our trip almost two years ago and Covid changed our plans. However the people at ZWay couldn't have been more accommodating. They allowed us to push our trip out a couple of times so we could get from Maryland back out to Texas and it was worth the wait. I went a week ago for a bachelor party. At first I was scared this trip wouldn't turn out well because I was quoted one price for a pick up and then given another. They honored the much lower price and our pick up was on time. We booked a private pick up from our Airbnb all the way on lake Travis which saved us time and money because we didn't have to commute into Austin. Loriel was our driver, we had our own shuttle bus and she was really fun, easy going and awesome. She gave us some advice about the river and didn't even complain when we were about an hour later than expected on pick up due to....some diving to try to find a missing iPhone RIP. Side note, water proof pouches DO NOT float! I have gone with other tubing companies in Austin and there are only two differences. The other company charged more for "guides" to float with you. I never spent $80 to float the river before, but this was an awesome experience with the group I went with. The guys setup a bachelor party for one of our friends and floating the river was one of our things to do while in Austin. It's perfect for the amount of people in our group as we had 13. Everything went smoothly and breezy. We arrived at the meet up location which was given in an email. You can get stuff at the local grocery store that the bus is parked outside of. They offered things to rent and purchase such as a cooler, dry box, and some more. The bus had AC and Bluetooth for music. We are able to drink aboard! Pop those cans when you're ready. It was a 45 minute ride down to the starting point of the San Marcos River. We could pick out whichever float they had available. Grab the one with a cup holder and make sure there are no leaks. They had a station with compressed air so you could re-air up the floats if needed. I added some more just to make it a bit firmer. Once everyone was situated we walked down to the river and jumped in. The float was about 3 1/2 to 4 hours long. Once we reached the end, you'll see Don's flag and they text you around the time for pick up of which bus arrived. Ride back to our meetup was a bit more than 45 minutes due to traffic, but it was worth it! The water was cold and it gets deep and shallow real quick. Remember to sit on top of the float as dragging your feet/legs along the bottom or walking isn't fun. From the moment you are picked up to the moment you are dropped off, everything is taken care of. You don't have to think of anything, where to go, when to stop, what to bring, they guide you through it all. You just follow them, get in the river, and enjoy yourself. They even provide coolers and ice (literally all you bring is yourself and your drinks) The price is worth every penny and maintains the quality of this higher-end experience. Great tubing trip! This was our first time in Austin and on a Texas river float. They did not disappoint!! Charter bus was brand new, clean and the AC felt amazing. Drop off spot was easy (don't forget to grab a black tube, with a bottom, for your cooler!). Exit spot was a bit hectic but they had enough staff to help if you just ask. We bought the cooler package (included soft cooler, ice and extra tube)...our booze was pretty warm halfway through the float, so might be worth it to just bring your own. It was a blast!! We used Austin Tubing trips for a bachelorette party and I highly recommend them! They took care of transporting us to and from Austin, the tubes, the coolers/ice, etc. Our driver Beau was awesome and very helpful in getting our friends' phone back when she lost it in the river (and was later recovered.) Another big plus... they were able to offer a private tour for our group of 12 and we were allowed to drink in the van. Tubing experience was awesome! Nice charter bus with delivering to and from site. However, retrieving tubes and set up on the water was very confusing. Suggest you bring rope to connect tubes if with a large party. Be mindful of travel time down the river and where to exit at the end (also very confusing). Didn't think I would have to leave a review but strictly to warn others to avoid our unfortunate situation, I am left no choice. Having tried another tubing service I had a baseline of expectations. As much as I thought I wanted a fancier tour bus rather than an old school bus, the vibe was very sterile (maybe good for families). The tour guide told us multiple times to leave our valuables on the bus and he would responsible for returning them to us if we missed the bus back. On my previous float, our tour guide joined the group on the float (we didn't all stick together but had a few opportunities to reorganize to ensure everyone was relatively together). This tour guide didn't join and had no way of contacting anyone. Of around 35-40 people on the bus, I had a group of 6, a relatively significant portion of the overall group. Fast forward to 5:34 (4 minutes after we were told to be back to the bus), the tour guide is there exclusively to let us know that the bus left without us and didn't have the curtesy to wait even 5 minutes for our group (i'm not exaggerating) . Taking this a step further, he didn't do anything with our valuables, so the majority of us were left without a phone, wallet, and most of us didn't even have a shirt or shoes as it was all on the bus. Thankfully two of us had our phones so we walked around the parking lot until we could find service to call ubers (the drivers weren't very happy) and also had to call the bus driver and have him wait at the drop off for about 45 minutes so we could get our stuff (we tipped him for his time). I tried reaching out to the company the following week and was met with empty promises of a follow-up and have not heard back. My suggestion: Don't use these guys, either find another service or if you don't want to risk being left stranded, just pack a few ubers - it is cheaper than taking a bus. Everyone from Austin Tubing Trips was friendly and I personally had no problem with anyone, however the lack of professionalism and basic consideration for a missing group on the bus way very, very lame and ended up costing us an extra $20-30 each to get home and recover our stuff. read more

We went as a group of 10 for as part of a bachelorette party. The day-of experience was easily 5-Stars. Beau was our driver on the day of our trip --- he was amazing! He was super friendly, punctual, and extremely helpful with loading our coolers. He gave us full control of the music (and volume of the music) during the drive. After we got to the river, he helped us carry the coolers to the river and pack them into tubes. He even took our shoes back to the van so we didn't have to keep track of them while we floated. When we got to the end of our float, he was ready for us with our shoes and helped us carry everything back to the van. I had some difficulty / frustration getting ahold of the company (via email, phone call, and text message) prior to our trip to make updates / confirm our reservation which brings down my overall rating. read more

Best way to float the river! By far Austin Tubing Trips does it right. Best service out there from start to finish. They made accommodations for our last minute trip. They got us our own private shuttle that turned out to be a party bus. The driver was very helpful even let us make multiple stops. Which we didn't get with the other service in town and all at a great price! Don't be fooled like I was by the other river float companies in town... this is the one to book with! Throughly enjoyed not being stuck on a 60 passenger school bus with 50 random people smelly from a river this time. The bus also had COLD A/C which helped out in the August heat.
