I've been coming here for years, I think ever since the end of COVID, and when I first found this place, I honestly thought it was the jam. They offer so many great services, and overall I still think it's one of the best tanning places in the area. However, I've recently been disappointed with the service I've been receiving. When I book my red light and Level 5 sessions, I specifically ask the girls at the front if I'll be able to go directly into Level 5 afterward because I do not want to wait in between sessions. Multiple times now, I've been told yes, only to come out of red light and then be asked to sit in the lobby and wait. To be fair, I completely understand if it gets busy sometimes. But this has happened more than a couple of times even when there hasn't been anyone else waiting in the lobby. It creates an uncomfortable experience because I'm obviously not fully dressed, assuming I'm going straight into my next session. I think communication is key, especially when clients are paying premium membership prices. If I'm going to have to wait, I'd rather just be told beforehand so I can either come back later or go to the Livermore location, which has honestly never made me wait like this. As a longtime client, I just haven't been happy with the recent experience. Sitting in the lobby waiting while feeling uncomfortable and exposed has made the experience feel negative lately, which is disappointing because I've genuinely loved this place for years. read more

Signed up for the First Class Unlimited membership - including cocoon wellness, red light and tanning. Can't say enough great things about this location, the services and staff. The rooms/ beds are always clean and sanitized. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and I haven't had to wait for an available bed. Im currently looking to develop a base tan for an upcoming trip so I'm trying to get in 3 times a week. Love their hours, it's helpful with my current schedule. I don't recommend giving your bank account or credit card or other payment information to them. Just pay them yourself. Do not authorize them to debit your card. My daughter did and she was sorry because they kept charging her after she cancelled her membership. She had to go through a hassle to get her money back. They were nice, apologetic and refunded her. But it was still a hassle to go through that process. And then she had to prove she cancelled it. So then she got a refund, so that was great. But then they charged her again. So she had to go through the same process. If it happens again, she will have to cancel her card. read more

You really shouldn't pull said member out after getting undressed, threatening to charge them an additional 11.00 because the upgrade expired? This should have been discussed at check in. Very disappointed with their cancellation policy. NOT friendly or accommodating to the clients at all. Would advise finding another spa that is more oriented toward the client. Even the customer service manager at the Corp. Office could not refund a facility fee ($33/yr) when I canceled for the whole year. It would be 5 stars if it was just for the tan itself and affordability. However, I do think how they manage the tans is unfair to some costumers. For example, I only do spray tan. When I walked in today the spray tan room was open but there were two customers currently in beds and then going to spray tan after. I had to wait for both those girls to finish their bed tanning and then spray. I would suggest having a "spray only" line so instead of me waiting 30 mins, I feel that it would have been fair to have one of them wait for me to do my spray since they were doing multiple tanning rooms. I use primer beforehand and my spray tan takes seconds (or however long the machine takes). read more

I love this salon! It's so easy to drop in and get a spray or bed tan depending on your need, and it's open til 9 on weekdays which is convenient. I rarely have to wait and when I do, it's less than a few minutes. Prices are better than I've experienced at other tanning salons and the staff is super friendly and good with salon & product knowledge. The energy is always good! read more

I'm really happy with my experience so far at Australia Tan. I bought the Level 3 monthly package. It's nice because I can go to any location in the Bay Area (super convenient). I think the quality of the beds is good. They don't have a huge selection of lotions, but they are the highest quality (Designer Skin) and competitively prices (they also seem to sun sales/specials monthly). I was really debating on cancelling my membership after my interaction with Nina. Luckily she is more in the Livermore location but her customer service was awful. I come in to check in as normal. I forgot my lotion in the car & was going to say I will be right back & she says to me " we'll go get it." I let that sly. Once she was done cleaning a level 3 bed for me I ask which room please & she says " well you pick either 6 or 7." It is just not the way to talk to customers. All the other girls have been very pleasant & no issues what so ever. I was just shocked because the other ladies tell me which room to go into either 6 or 7 I never got a choice to choose. I hope if Nina checks me in it's a better experience or I'll ask one of the other girls. read more

The facility might be small, but the cleanliness is superb and the staff is absolutely amazing! No matter how busy they are, they always remain calm with the smile and are absolutely friendly all the time. I have the unlimited spray package and go there about two times a week. UPDATE: 6/15/23, here I am again waiting in an empty lobby with two available #3 beds, yet I have to wait for people to finish in the red light & cocoon beds, get dressed & move over to the #3, yet I'm ready to go...The young lady at the deck apologized & said that is how they are trained. I don't want to call & talk about it, I want you to fix this. This is BS! ------------------------------- I used to love this place (San Ramon), but it seems like every time I show up and ask for a #3 bed, they tell me there is a wait. Usually, there is no one in the lobby waiting & I can clearly see that that the door is open to a #3 bed. When I question the receptionist about this they always say that someone is in the cocoon or red light bed and they are going into the #3 next. Meanwhile, I'm here waiting to use it, but I have to wait for someone to finish up & get dressed, so they can go onto the #3 bed. The receptionist had the nerve to tell me "First come, first serve". We'll obviously, I'm first, if I'm ready to go. This makes no sense at all to me. I've been coming here for years & have the full package, yet I have to wait for someone to finish in the cocoon, even tho the bed is available!!?? read more

The person at the front desk was very nice, but that is where the stars stop. I visited because it is one of the few tanning places to offer VersaSpa (which I prefer over Mystic). I walked back to the room and gasped as I stood looking at the oldest and filthiest VersaSpa I have ever seen. Thinking this was the worst of it, I turned to start readying myself - and looking for a hair net. On the chair was a bleached-stained towel and a roll of trash bags. I wasn't sure what the trash bags were for until I looked down into the trash can and saw a bunch of them covered with solution - which is when I realized that the trash bags were supposed to be used for hair nets. This presented a whole other set of difficulties for me as I have never had to figure out how to use a trash bag over my head while tanning. Needless to say, they also didn't have feet protectors, nose protectors or baby wipes to wipe off feet and hands after tanning. I was fairly mortified by the condition of the machine and unsure about the cleanliness of it (but committed to the cause since I was getting on a flight the next day), so I decided to stand on the bleached towel while tanning so my feet wouldn't have to hit the floor. Into my second turn, the towel ripped and practically disintegrated beneath me. After tanning, I was so disgusted that I ran into the bathroom and washed my feet and hands. I contemplated saying something to the nice lady at the front when I left - but with this many issues, I knew there was nothing she could do - and that it was clear management's only concern was saving money. I arrived and put my name in and was told the bed was open and just needed to be cleaned. The receptionist proceeded to take 7 walk-ins and check everyone in before cleaning which made my wait time 20mins. I am always happy to wait but when I checked in it was positioned as a quick turnaround time and I had a flight to catch. I understand it is difficult to work as the only person on shift but the bed cleaning takes 60 seconds and could have been done between the customers who were checked in and placed in beds before me. read more

I came to tan just before their closing time and I had a wedding to go the next day and let me tell you, Jackie was so nice and pleasant to take me in. She was so welcoming and incredible with her service. I totally thought that I wouldn't be able to tan today, but Jackie made it happen and I'm so happy with her service. I have been a long time customer of Australian Tan and have visited multiple locations including the Los Gatos Blvd & South San Jose one. After moving to the East Bay, I now only have the San Ramon location to choose from but my experience has been great. The only reason I didn't leave a 5 start review was because of the wait time to tan sometimes. The staff is friendly and professional. Parking is decent. A few of the staff that i when encountered gave off a unfriendly vibe but besides that, I would highly recommend Australian Tan! read more
