I have visited this establishment twice, and did not have a good experience. The staff was friendly, but the owner Allyson was not pleasant. I was not pleased with the services I received. I have been to other establishments where I received great facials and brow services. It is not friendly to people of color. I did not feel comfortable when I was there. And I recently learned that the owner does not have an esthetic license nor a cosmetology license, but yet she's performing services such as brow tweeze, brow tints, and makeup applications. I would not suggest going to a place of business like this. read more

I couldn't recommend this place enough for people with problem brows. I started to get my eyebrows dyed and shaped by Alyson in late January/February 2013. They were in pretty TERRIBLE shape back then after several bad waxing/threading experiences, in spite of the fact that I had tried many places that had been recommended to me online. My brows were left so thin and warped after one waxing that I decided to leave them alone for a month and try this place out. To be honest, I was a little underwhelmed with my brows the first time I went in to see Ally. One eyebrow looked great, while Aly only slightly cleaned up the arch of my problem eyebrow so it could take its natural shape. That being said, Aly made it clear that my brows needed to get a little messy before they would look great. I would be prepared to let your eyebrows do their thing if you're going through "eyebrow rehab." I've been seeing Ally exclusively since my first visit (about 7 months, 6 times), and every time my eyebrows look better and better. Alyson REALLY knows her stuff about eyebrows and works with your natural features and hair pattern. Even my boyfriend has noticed that my eyebrows look fuller and more flattering. As far as the rest of her services, I've been given a few complimentary makeovers in the past which were great. I wish Yelp did half stars. I'd give Authentic Beauty 2.5 stars. I went here to have my eyebrows reshaped by Alyson Hoag. I needed to go through "eyebrow rehab" as she called it, and let my eyebrows grow in. I went there about 3 times and each experience was about the same. Let me start and say that Alyson is extremely nice. She is chatty, sweet, and she answered all of my questions. She did a great job shaping my eyebrows and I am happy with how they now look. What I didn't like and what stopped me from going back was how she was so busy each time I visited her. I made my appointments weeks in advance, but each visit felt as if she was squeezing me in and she seemed busy with other things. I don't think she spent more than a minute of time focusing on me before she'd have to turn her attention to something else in the salon. Her assistant always needed so much help that Alyson had to stop focusing on me and walk away with her assistant to solve any issue the assistant couldn't solve, or Alyson would stop and talk with other clients that walked into the salon. I can totally understand "meh" customer service when you walk in, but I made appointments and If I'm paying between $30-$40 for 10 minutes of service, I expect those 10 minutes to be only about me. read more

I recently completed the Image Journey with Crystal and it was WONDERFUL. She was completely patient with me (even on top of me being 25 minutes late because of traffic), answered all my questions and went into detail about how to apply my makeup-even applying multiple colors to find the perfect "me". Because of my Image Journey, I am no longer afraid to experiment with blending color, applying eyeliner or wearing bright red lipstick if I feel like it. I have never been more confident, and my husband loves the new me -mostly because I feel so good about myself. I was a pretty confident person when I walked in to Authentic Beauty, but now I feel *amazing* everyday. The difference at Authentic Beauty is that they listen to what your vision of "you" is, instead of telling you what you should look like. I have never felt more beautiful than after Crystal taught me how to apply my own makeup-not even on my wedding day. If I could do one thing over on my wedding day, it would be to have Authentic Beauty apply my makeup. They are not pushy about selling their own makeup line (even though it's awesome makeup). Not even at the *free* Champagne and Shadows event (I always find free events have a lot more sales pressure, but not at Authentic Beauty). I had a fabulous time at the last Champagne and Shadows, and I went alone. I was a little apprehensive about being there by myself. However, everyone is so warm, welcoming, and it has a fun, girls night out vibe. They hand you a glass of champagne, apply your makeup and off you go to enjoy the rest of your night. After a month of unsuccessful attempts to directly directly speak to the founder, Alyson (no thanks to Stephanie & Marnie), I am left with no choice but to provide my feedback here with a scathing review. I found your business on Yelp and I now feel obligated to caution other potential customers about my experience. My facial with Stephanie on Aug. 12th left me with the the WORST complexion I have ever had. I could have never imagined that the "organic facial" could result in a month long breakout. I gave Authentic Beauty a try thinking "how bad could a facial be" and I learned that lesson the hard way. It is clear that Stephanie does not have the training or experience needed to be treating anyone. I left your business feeling like I had paid for an hour face massage, knowing that her extractions had been ineffective to say the least, but the weeks of breakouts following the treatment were absolutely unimaginable. Chanette Thompson just moved here in May from LA, a specialist in Brows. I was able to make my appointment last minute online and was even able to be taken early. I read about another Brow salon in Buckhead prior to reading about Authentic Beauty. Ease of scheduling is pretty important for those of us with hectic schedules. As far as brows go, amazing! As Chanette put it, it's an art form! She was very meticulous and worth the $25 she charged. My brows are so much better, eventhough, they now have to go through, as Chanette put it, Brow Rehab. I started coming here when the woman who did my eyelashes moved to Chicago. The place is clean, the owner is really nice, and the staff is mostly professional-- though there's one, slightly older front desk employee who always seems a little miffed about her life. Sometimes staff argues at the front desk; since most clients are farther back in the shop, I guess they think they're out of earshot, but the curtained-off eyelash room is RIGHT there so I hear everything. I also made a waxing appointment once, and they did it in the hair washing sinks, which was sort of weird (and uncomfortable). I'm okay with coming here for lashes, but I don't think I'd come for other services. read more
