He claimed to have a full team and promised timely, high-quality work. In reality, it was just two workers, and progress constantly stalled when he wasn't on-site. Over 12 weeks, our basement flooded twice, our sump pump was damaged and we were blamed, and our electrical panel was tripped by his equipment. His crew worked sporadically, sometimes not at all, and basic tasks like installing a toilet took months. He also pushed unnecessary upgrades, including replacing a functioning boiler and a kitchen window. The Pella window he recommended took months to install, arrived defective, and still isn't fixed. He verbally, and in his written contract, described a warranty that does not match Pella's written policy, and we've had an extremely difficult time getting support from them. Please see the attached pictures of the contract I signed with Mr. Angelis and the response from Pella windows regarding the warranty. Pella is quoting me $1619.38 for the repair, despite being promised a lifetime warranty by Mr. Angelis, which he promised was transferable and would include all mechanical and glazed parts. Mr. Angelis was paid $6,600 for this window. I posted a detailed review during the project outlining these issues. It appears that review and the name of the business was changed. I'm reposting this because nearly a year later, we are still dealing with the consequences of his work. Proceed with caution.

Collin, the project manager was on point and came twice (!) ahead of time to assure measurements are legit. My breakfast room window, which is next to the fire escape, has been broken since the day I moved into the apartment. The super tried to fix it over the 6 years that I've lived here; however, it remained broken and dangerous. Fortunately, Altin and Egli, who are employed by A&J, came today and fixed my window. They even went throughout the apartment, checking all of the other windows to make sure there were no other issues. Altin and Egli were kind, respectful, professional and efficient. We rescheduled, and then they didn't show up for the next one, nor the next one, an so on. This happened around 12 times over a period of two months! Eventually, the office administrator gave me the direct phone number for her boss, Reggie, because even she couldn't get hold of him anymore. Every time there was a different excuse: he was "driving back from Florida," dealing with "an emergency with an employee in Florida," had to leave "for Florida," and so on. There was always another excuse. One day, his crew finally showed up and installed some of the window screens. However, they had to wait six hours for him to arrive to bring the material. Then we discovered that several of the screens didn't fit because he had measured them incorrectly. None of the large sliding door screens were even ready. Eventually, I'd had enough and demanded a refund for the unfinished work and the screens we never received. He promised again that he would come and complete the installation, even confirming it by email, but he never showed up. He repeated this two more times. Finally, I told him I was done and wanted our money back. His response was to hang up on me! And now, it shows that their business is "permanently closed" and I'm left to figure out how I'll get a refund from them!

For the millwork I purchased interior doors, mouldings, wainscot, fiberglass columns, and exterior, Azek and fir for facia, soffit material etc.. Once the framing was complete, Mike came out to the house before the quote to measure everything and make sure the 2 dozen doors had the correct opening orientation and size. We went over many molding profiles and door styles. The price was very competitive and it was an easy decision. Once we got started, Mike was always quick to respond and when I needed a few add on pieces the truck was there for delivery to keep my schedule on track. I wish all of my suppliers were as good!
