Eric at Authorized Refrigeration is the best. I called because I had a leak in my sub zero ice maker valve that was supposed to be fixed by another appliance repair company (A-OK Appliance) I had been using for 20+ years. After 3 appointments they couldn't figure out what to do and I was told I needed to have 3 techs to pull the SubZero out to get the job done. Eric to the rescue, he came the next day. After Eric assessed the situation & I explained I could hear the SubZero in the other room he found the other work they had done a few years back was failing due incompetency (cheap parts & missing screws). Eric repaired the Sub Zero, replaced the ice maker, the water valve and also replaced the condenser fan & auto defrost control which were the incorrect ones which were put in a few years ago. Eric gave me all the costs before starting the job and the cost were very fair. Eric was extremely knowledgeable about SubZero and did the repair with ease & the Sub Zero DID NOT need to be pulled out! Don't call anyone else but Eric at Authorized Refrigeration. Our SubZero fridge started to get really hot on the door panel between the freezer and the fridge. It was late so we called one 24 hour repair person out of the blue from the internet and he said vacuum the condenser and wait a day or so and it would be fine. We got concerned and randomly called Authorized Refrigeration. How lucky were we. I described the problem to Eric over the phone and he knew right away what the problem was and he said, turn entire fridge off now or your small problem going to become a costly expensive one. It was nearly 10pm when we spoke. He moved things around on his schedule and was at our house earlier than he even told us the next morning. He was spot on, fixed the fan in less than an hour and was in an out. Had we listened to the first repair company, our condensor would have burned out completely and our $500 problem (which was mostly parts) would have become a disasterous $3500 problem. I have a 30 year old subzero. I had 2 other subzero contractors in the area come in to take a look at the problem. The first one was here for 5 minutes and told me it will cost $2200, the other one came in and said the relay part need replacement, but no one can find the part, they finally told me it cannot be fixed. I spoke to a few other contractors over the phone and realized the first guy was trying to rip me off, and the 2nd did not know what he was talking about. Luckily I called Authorized Refrigeration. Spoke to Eric on the phone and told him my whole story and that I was looking for someone who is honest and knows what they are doing. Eric told me he was willing to come in pro bono to check out the problem. His brother Kevin came the next day, was here 4 hours to find the leak (difficult to find), replace the compressor and some other parts, found tons of water underneath frig, and fixed the entire problem. The bill was itemized and very reasonable. Eric/Kevin will be my go to subzero contractor from now on. Beware of other contractors out there trying to rip you off or have no idea what they are doing. read more

CAN'T BE BEAT!!!! PHENOMENAL JOB!! I called this company awhile back because we had an issue with some leaking water from our refrigerator. I didn't know anything about them, but I am so glad I found them! A guy named Eric answered the phone on the first ring (he may be the manager or owner) and he and another guy named Kevin came out to my house within ONE HOUR! I expected it would take weeks to get this repaired. They knew immediately what the problem was, they told me everything that needed to be done and how they would do it, so I understood (I'm an idiot when it comes to stuff like this!) before they started. They were completely professional and had the thing taken apart, a part replaced and back up and working in no time. They cleaned up any mess, gave me an AWESOME price and were gone in a flash. This is the best business out there. It was 9 o'clock at night. Not a single other repair facility was open. A real live person answered the phone. Yes an actual human being. She was the sweetest woman ever. They got me over to Kevin. On a Sunday at 9pm!! Do you still believe me? Probably not. Lol Kevin was able to help me reset my icemaker and get it working. But I still had him come by for service for a cooling issue in my refrigerator. He had everything needed and man what a technician this kid is. I've been repairing cars for 44 years. So one guy that uses tools daily can recognize somebody with skill and passion for what they do. And what a talented human being.. He sweat pipes with a torch in places I didn't think was even possible. I'm still in awe! Solid 5 stars service. My history with my SubZero fridge consist of two scammers. First cost me $800, initially was $600 but technician said he had more work to do then expected and second I stopped at $100 for diagnostics and shocking quote for $1750 , this time listening to my gut (I be leaving them bad reviews shorty after this one) and Eric. It all start with very pleasant lady on the phone taking my info, then quick call back from Eric - a highly knowledgeable technician asking questions over the phone without using complex names for parts only technician would understand and today my fridge is running smooth, saving me lots of money for not pushing parts, no hidden cost. Eric even gave me a discount which is totally unexpected. Living in Financial Downtown I got used to "Manhattan prices" or "I added $100 as parking cost" I be recommending his services to my whole building. SIMPLY THE BEST! read more

If you live in the Tri-State area, and own a Subzero, you need to know Eric! He is simply THE BEST. We recently bought a house with a vintage (1994) Subzero, and it was on its last leg, stopped working altogether a few days after we moved in. After wasting time & money with 2 other repair companies, found Eric on a desperate "google search" and he picked up the phone when I called, came out the next morning, and within 2 hours had completely rebuilt our refrigerator to "like new" condition (you were correct on this Eric - it works like a dream, now!) for as reasonably a price as one could possibly hope for. When he arrives, he has ALL the parts with him, works cleanly and efficiently, explains exactly what is going on/ what he is doing, and is spectacular at customer service and followup/questions. Previously I had given 1 star for Authorized Refrigeration. I was unhappy at the time because my unit was still not working. Called someone else and they told me it was unrepairable. Called Sub z and they could not do anything but give me a 5% discount on a new $12,000 unit. I told Authorized Refrigeration how upset I was that it was not fixed after paying $858. This time the owner, Alex, came and said he can fix it. He did!! He saved me thousands of dollars. He even returned my original $858 and fixed it free of charge. We are so grateful. Eric, the owner and chief technician at Authorized Refrigeration rejuvenated our 24 year old Subzero refrigerator and freezer-something that others had been unable to do. Eric quickly diagnosed the source of the problems we had been having. The issues turned out to be extensive in both units but Eric and Kevin were able to do the work the same morning they came out to evaluate the situation. Had a great experience. My Sub Zero fridge just stop cooling anything the day AFTER I'd been to the store to stock up. If I couldn't get service today all that money would have been lost. Eric answered my call, came out within an hour and replaced the compressor. I could NOT believe it! He actually had a compressor on hand! Today I called Authorized Refrigeration with expectations of scheduling an appointment. The company technician answered the phone and asked what the problem was, I explained it to the best of my ability and he knew exactly what was wrong and had me do a couple things, low and behold, fixed. Over the phone for free. It turns out the last repair that costed me well over a couple hundred dollars was the same exact thing that I was overcharged for. I Called authorized refrigeration, spoke to a real technician who answered the phone quickly and was extremely nice and professional. They sent a technician named Eric, he was probably in his 30's, Italian/irish american guy. I could tell by watching him he really knew what he was doing and I felt comfortable with him in my home even while my children were there. Eric Knew what was wrong in 5 minutes. His pricing was very fair, and he even had the real OEM subzero parts with him! It was fixed in an hour and hasn't worked this well since it was new. Got wind of this company from a friend. A technician came to my house and charged 75 bucks for the visit only to let me know I'd be in the hole $500 bucks for several parts and another visit charge. A friend with some knowledge told me to to try Authorized Refrigeration. A tech came to my house and identified the problem with wiring on the condenser fan motor in a half hour and saved me from outrageous charges from another company, who shall remain nameless and unused going forward. Called, spoke to a highly knowledgeable guy. They had someone out to me in 1 hour. Friendly guy by the name of Kevin, he knew what was wrong in 5 minutes, and in an hour he had a new compressor in my fridge. The same fridge another company told me was to old to repair.
