The dishes were still clean, but I knew it was a matter of time. My dishwasher is made in Korea and I found out once before that a surprising number of repair services will not handle or repair Korean or Chinese appliances. So I ended up looking around and found Ace Tech. Promptly replying, Vlad was able to come over that day, examine the dishwasher and explain it was the drive motor, which is covered under a 10-year warranty. I'm pretty organized so I already had my invoice and manual at hand so I called LG, had them certify that it was under warranty and send the part to Ace Tech. (While I can't say the warranty service wasn't straightforward, it did involve many steps including sending Ace Tech's diagnosis and my invoice. Keep your invoices!) It took about about 10 days to arrive. Vlad installed the drive and the grinding stopped. He warned that if it leaks he might have to come back. Foreshadowing there, the dishwasher no longer was grinding but leaking. Back he came and one of the hoses had worn, which was obvious looking at it. So now he ordered the new hose and installed that about two weeks later. I didn't pay for the drive motor but did for the hose and labor. Rates were fair. Vlad was prompt, knowledgeable and explained everything carefully. Overall it was a highly satisfactory experience and I recommend the service highly.
