With its insurance based, ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), and Board Certified Behavior Analyst guided programming, the rapid progress it's clients make, is nothing short of miraculous. I should know, my own child is a client there. In the six months that my son has been a client of ABC, I have seen an incredible change in his behavior, his speech, and his social skills. I feel like his 1:1 or behavioral technician, was handpicked or selected especially for him. She's friendly, patient, and knows my son better than anyone else. The same goes for the other technicians at ABC. They are kind, friendly, and well-trained. But the best part of all, is their Saturday social groups. Their age appropriate 8:30-4:30 programming, covers everything from morning meeting, arts n' crafts, outings, play based therapies, and social skills training. NuLife has been a tremendous part of my recovery journey. What makes this program special is the sense of community. The daily check-ins and group discussions offer honest peer feedback, different perspectives, and plenty of opportunities for growth. I've made meaningful connections with my peers, and those relationships have been just as valuable as the clinical treatment itself. Rebecca is an exceptional clinician and leader whose compassion, insight, and ability to connect with clients have had a lasting impact on me. Dr. Azi has also been incredibly supportive throughout my treatment. The team genuinely cares about their clients and creates an environment where people can do the hard work of recovery while still finding moments to laugh. She expects people to act as though this is a school and we are not supposed to have our own feelings, emotions, lives, or thoughts. The curriculum is good, however they constantly are going off topic. The care could be amazing if they knew how to manage a room and keep everybody going in a progressive direction. My father recently completed alcohol detox there. Staff…read morewere incredibly short and rude with my mother, both during intake and on the phone when she repeatedly tried to tell them the medication list they had for him was incorrect and included gabapentin, which his doctor had recently taken him off of due to a prior adverse reaction. Instead of checking/confirming with his doctor, they brushed her off and said "We have the list from his pharmacy"--- which was not correct because it still included the gabapentin. When she called to follow up (because she did not feel heard by the intake staff), or to ask a question about insurance coverage, staff either told her they would call her back but never did, or transferred her to voicemail, and her messages were never returned. THEN, when my dad returned home, he was so overmedicated on downers that he was slurring his words! When my mom called Adcare to ask what kind of drugs they had given him and when, they said the night before he had been given a combination of ....melatonin, benadryl, AND GABAPENTIN!!! A quick Google search, and even a non-medical professional can find out that that's not a recommended combo, especially for older folks who could have slowed breathing, fall risks, etc, (and definitely not for people who have had adverse reactions). Finally, the discharge paperwork they sent home said, "Patient given a prescription for Narcan." and the box was checked!! My dad is trying to kick alcohol -- Narcan is for opioids, so we are not sure what to make of that. Patients are more than addicts, they are vulnerable humans who are there to get help and care. They and the people who love them are trusting that they will be safe there, and deserve better. This might have been a better review, if staff had approached a caring family member's concerns with empathy instead of brushing them off, and been willing to take a moment to check and confirm my dad's meds list.

I tried to get help here, I really did. but they would not help me. I was in massive pain and I had…read morehoped they would relieve me of it. I was so wrong. They did not take the withdrawls away. I couldn't eat. I couldn't sleep. eventually that kind of thing takes a chunck out of your mental health. still I tried to talk to someone as I was beginning to become depressed, agitated, and frankly suicidal. I just wanted the pain to end. they did not dose me based on what I was using before going in, they give everyone the same dose and expect them to get through it. I knew my best chance for success was to go up on the methadone and be discharged to a clinic to stay on it so that I could get more help that way and eventually come off of it. I had never felt so much pain and discomfort in my life. I just wanted it to end. I tried talking to a social worker, I tried to let them know how I was feeling, so that hopefully someone would talk to me and be supportive and help me through these feelings of utter despair. they kept yelling at me and kept telling me "no!" so I said I wanted to leave even though I didn't. if someone had just been kind to me, if someone had just spoke to me, i might have made it. now it feels like because I am what I am that they were not willing to help me. they discontinued the methadone and wasn't going to help me get into the clinic. if you or a loved one is reading this, I would advise that you find somewhere else. somewhere better. where they can see a patient feeling pain and bad thoughts and talk them through it. otherwise they are going to make you feel small and uncomfortable and your choice to be there might have been the biggest mistake of your life. I am home now. I tried to die. I didn't thankfully. I did finally get some sleep and was able to keep food down. they would not allow me to safely call for a ride in the hospital once I told them I wanted to leave. then when I was outside one of the nurses came out and told me to get off their property while I waited for an uber. I never felt such shame in my life. these are not nice people. these are "professionals" who sent a suicidal girl home because she was in too much pain to eat or sleep. and the second I did finally sleep they woke me up. I couldn't believe it. I could not get back to sleep. the withdrawal was too much. I don't want anyone else to have to ever go through what I went through there. don't send your loved ones to adcare hospital. because they might just leave and die before they get the help they need. thank you for reading this and I hope it has helped at least one other person to avoid such shame.

Just a warning to anyone who may have a local psychiatrist or lives in milford looking for one…read morethere- PLEASE HEED my warning anyone struggling with mental health stay as far away as possible from Copley health on 105 E Main st. Specifically the nurse/psychiatrist BETTY YU. This isn't just a rant or hate post or anything revegeful etc. I need to bring awareness of what they do to people so that no one has to go through what I did, and am still currently. Last year, when I met her and thought she was so sweet and caring and I was relieved to find a doctor to help me. So relieved that I referred 4 close people in my life. After doing this, she broke confidentiality (HIPPA) and hit on my boyfriend, told him and every other friend that I was "a mess and probably never going to get better". She told my boyfriend word for word- "you seem like a hard worker, Rachel has a lot to gain from you but it looks to me you have absolutely nothing you could benefit from being with her ". I was infuriated, but terrified to be pulled off my FIVE medications I was prescribed, and due to my fear she labeled me as "crazy and unstable". Imagine a doctor, someone who signs up specifically to work in mental health, saying and treating anyone this way. Fast forward to present time, about 10 months later, because of my complaints and concerns to the offices MANAGER/OWNER, KATIA- her solution to this issue was to just get rid of me, and gave me a termination letter stating as of "(insert date) we will no longer see you prescribe you OR TAKE ANY ACCOUNTABILITY OR LIABILITY, and you will need to seek services elsewhere" Now, you do not put someone on several medications (I won't list them but they are the types you can have serious complications from if you don't safely taper off) and then say you're going to just pretend it basically never happened, put the blame and the solution on me instead of themselves. I won't keep making the post longer and longer, but I'll end it with this- I've since had 3 other appointments with other doctors, and all they'll tell me is "they cannot continue my medications, including any tapering off of, due to reading my recent medical file". Aka whatever this evil person (cannot even call her a doctor) wrote, is preventing me from even finding new care. I'm being forced to seek legal help and am working with an attorney because that is how horrific of a situation she has put me through, along with the entire company as a whole. Anyone who took the time to read this, PLEASE spread the word and please don't call or go to that terrifying excuse of a medical office.

PT and OT and the L{Ns are the only things making the place bearable. Family members cannot get in contact with anyone on the staff and the Administrator spends more time walking the parking lot looking for parking violations than worrying about running the facility.God forbid you should be a lucid patient and expect to be treated kike a human being not just a check from Medicare. I won't even get into the fraud that they commit there. Dr. charged for visits he never performed. for a year and 1/2!
