My family and I had to unexpectedly stop in Northfield on the road back from Minneapolis to our home in Iowa due to our van leaking fluid and overheating. We had to book a hotel room without knowing at the time how we would get our van fixed. My wife found on a Google search different mechanics and at first no answers, then a quote of $199 just for diagnostics. Finally, around 9pm, I tried Timmy's line and reached him. He was very attentive and polite and assured me he would have us back on the road the next day and could come at 1pm. Not only did George get to us before 1p, they had us back on the road by 4:30p. Before coming in, I called ahead and was told the dealership was slow and that I would be taken care of. Since the dealership is right down the road for me, I decided to stop in and take a look at a few vehicles. I have been test driving a number of vehicles recently, and I made my situation clear from the beginning. Throughout my visits, I explained multiple times where I was in the buying process, and I was still encouraged to come in. The team was very accommodating at first, which I genuinely appreciated, and I made a point to thank them and acknowledge my situation. I was able to test drive quite a few vehicles and everything was going well. However, when I was about to look at another vehicle, a sales manager pulled my salesperson away to assist a different customer who had just arrived to purchase. I completely understand prioritizing a sale, but what didn't sit right was that no one else stepped in to continue helping me. When I asked if someone else or the manager could assist, I was told they were too busy and asked to come back another day. That experience was disappointing, especially after calling ahead, being transparent about my situation, and already spending time at the dealership. It felt like once I wasn't an immediate sale, I was no longer a priority. What concerned me even more was that, in their public response to my review, my personal situation was referenced -- something I had only shared in a private conversation. I did not feel that was appropriate. Overall, I understand how busy dealerships can be, but the lack of continuity in service and the handling of personal information led me to take my business elsewhere.
