They dipped the tire in soapy water to see if there was any air leaking out and found three holes in it! They even brought out the tire to show me the holes! They were able to fill the holes with plugs but honestly told me I'm probably going to need new tires soon... which I had already suspected. Granted they didn't do any mechanical work to my car, I trust their judgment and like that they are family-owned. I'm planning on returning for auto work. Tony was very friendly and after getting the information on the car, their technician got it into the shop within ten minutes. After testing the battery, they informed me that there was nothing wrong with it. They cleared the code that was generated by the low battery, drove it and rechecked it. They found what was causing the noise, and also a couple other minor issues, and fixed them with no problems. I called after hours and asked if they could change the transmission fluid while they have it, and the manager (Jim), called back first thing in the morning to let me know they checked the fluid and it looked brand new so it didn't need to be changed. Any other shop would have said they changed changed the fluid and added it to the bill, but they didn't, so they gained my trust right away. They only fixed what needed to be be fixed, and the cost was very reasonable. Since then I've had them replace the clutch and transmission. They did the work quickly and kept me informed throughout the process. There we no surprise costs and the total bill was actually less than what I expected it to be. It's hard to find a shop that you can trust, and does good work at a reasonable cost, so Transmission Doctor is now the first (and likely only) shop I'll call if I have car problems.

It is not easy to find a trustworthy shop that will not try to overcharge you or charge you for work that wasn't done well. I can tell you that if i do not want to work on my car, this is the place that I like to go to for repairs. They have done some extensive repairs for me in the past but now the next generation is coming up and driving. My son wanted some noises investigated on his car that were driving him crazy, I didn't have a lift to look under the entire car. I asked him to stop by Main Street Automotive and they would take good care of him. My son, a 21 year old stopped by there after he got off of work to see how they could help fix his car. They treated my kid like they should, they were friendly and polite, they also explained things to my son who isn't interested in working on cars or had much know-how. My son didn't feel like they rushed him or talked down to him and as always, they do a good job. I even called to get the details from the mechanic on details that my son didn't know.
