I had taken it to O"Riley and tested myself prior so I new the problem but they insisted they had to do an inspection which I found out was a list of repairs per the manual which were recently completed, just don't trust what my costs would have been after they quoted me $600 to do the repair. I went elsewhere, who did an engine check while I waited and it was free.

Christian Brothers has got to have the nicest employees I have ever met at any business! To top it off, the last time I was in, I heard one of the female employees offer to drive an older gentleman back to his house so he didn't have to sit there all day long. Seriously, the warmest folks ever. Their prices are a bit higher than elsewhere, but it is justified by their quality of work, communication, and kindness. They will inform you of any issues they identify on your car but are not at all pushy about getting the work done there. I'm not religious and was originally worried that I might feel uncomfortable coming here, but it's been nothing but a positive experience all around!

They quickly figured out it was electrical and not my transmission. They could have lied and doubt i would have known. I got out for 250 bucks. Very happy. Also Jim at the counter is the best. Highly recommend.

My first experience at Transmission Doctor was for them to diagnose some clunking/knocking noises…read morethat were coming from my 2013 Subaru WRX. They found what was causing the noise, and also a couple other minor issues, and fixed them with no problems. I called after hours and asked if they could change the transmission fluid while they have it, and the manager (Jim), called back first thing in the morning to let me know they checked the fluid and it looked brand new so it didn't need to be changed. Any other shop would have said they changed changed the fluid and added it to the bill, but they didn't, so they gained my trust right away. They only fixed what needed to be be fixed, and the cost was very reasonable. Since then I've had them replace the clutch and transmission. They did the work quickly and kept me informed throughout the process. There we no surprise costs and the total bill was actually less than what I expected it to be. It's hard to find a shop that you can trust, and does good work at a reasonable cost, so Transmission Doctor is now the first (and likely only) shop I'll call if I have car problems.

We were shopping for my daughter's first vehicle, so finding something that was safe and reliable…read morewas extremely important to us. We originally brought a Mazda CX-5 to Christian Brothers Automotive in Lakeville for a pre-purchase inspection. The technicians performed a very detailed inspection, and Chuck, Vince, and Nick each took the time to personally look over and drive the vehicle as well. They explained everything they found, answered every question we had, and ultimately advised us to walk away from the purchase. While that was disappointing at the time, it almost certainly saved us from buying a vehicle that would have cost us far more down the road. We kept looking and eventually found a Lexus RX 350, which we also brought to Christian Brothers for another pre-purchase inspection. Once again, the technicians did an outstanding job, and Chuck, Vince, and Nick each took the time to review the vehicle, explain their findings, and answer our questions. They confirmed the Lexus was a solid vehicle and gave us confidence moving forward with the purchase. The inspection wasn't just a checklist. It was an education. They walked us through the vehicle, explained what they were seeing, pointed out what mattered, what didn't, and what we should expect down the road. Their advice also helped us negotiate the purchase price, saving us $500, which more than covered the cost of both inspections. What impressed me most, though, was the people. Every interaction with Chuck, Vince, and Nick was friendly, transparent, and genuine. What really stood out was how much they cared about the outcome. After we left to buy the Lexus, it was already late and we weren't able to finish the purchase that evening. Before we left, Chuck asked me to give him a call the next day because he wanted to know how everything turned out, whether we were able to buy the Lexus, and whether his advice had helped. He didn't have to do that. It wasn't part of the inspection. It showed me that they genuinely cared about helping us find the right vehicle, not just completing another service. Christian Brothers Automotive is more than 30 minutes from my home, and I'll gladly make that drive. They'll be servicing not only this Lexus, but all of my family's vehicles going forward. Buying a used vehicle can be stressful, especially when you're trying to make the right decision for your family. For us, this wasn't just buying another used car. This was buying our daughter's first vehicle, and we wanted to know we were making the right decision. Christian Brothers Automotive helped us do exactly that. Thank you to Chuck, Vince, Nick, the technicians, and everyone else at Christian Brothers Automotive in Lakeville. We truly appreciate everything you did for our family! -Derek

After coming here for years to get oil changes on many different vehicles, my family has decided to…read morestop affiliating with this business as we continue to get ripped off unless someone challenges their final prices. Once it was for my sister getting her brakes replaced where they quoted her a MUCH higher amount than they did to my father for the same vehicle, and another time was today while trying to get a sensor reading on another one of our cars. We have come to find out that employees here have sexist attitudes and behaviors which is incredibly disappointing to see. The only reason they get 2 stars and not 1 was because they changed my oil. Nothing else. Today, my car got an oil change here and had a tire pressure sensor read. I had credit for a free oil change, and Darin quoted on the phone that the sensor reading would be $50. Awesome. So I show up to pick up the car, they say it's going to be $76 something dollars. They told me the 25 other dollars were "fees". I politely asked what the 25 dollars of "fees" entails as that's not what I was originally quoted, and he said "environmental disposal fees". Why is there an environmental disposal fee for sensor reading? I expressed my frustration saying I was quoted something else, and they only fixed the price to what they told me at the beginning AFTER my father came inside and challenged them on it. And then suddenly it was all a-ok again, and Darin said "no harm, no foul". There was, though, as I would've been charged $25 in "fees" that I was not made aware of if I wouldn't have brought my dad inside to help me. They told my father and I that the $25 "fee" is on every single diagnostic check (they just conveniently didn't mention it when they originally quoted me $50), basically admitting they rip people off every single time. They also quoted me 175 dollars for a single TPMS sensor, what a joke! That is substantially more money than Discount Tire, which is where I will be going from now on for this type of thing. We will not be coming back any longer. It's clear they take advantage of people not knowing that other prices are available at other car repair shops. My father loved bringing our cars here as it was close to our house but after today he said he is no longer interested in business with them, same goes for my sister and I. They reached out to me yesterday, a week after I posted the complaint, saying they called me and left a voicemail, which they did not do. Don't go here!
