Unfortunately, my vehicle was unfixable. The team at Auto Fixit were honest and kind while delivering the news. I was unable to pick it up right away, and they were very understanding. By the time I could pick it up, the battery was dead and I needed air in my tire. Without hesitation, the guys in the shop came out to jump my vehicle and fill the tire. On my way to Grand Rapids for work I got rammed by a deer on the highway. It did significant damage but luckily I'm alive. I know car body repairs usually take days so all I needed was something quick to hold my side view mirror in place to make it back to Ohio. My side mirror would bang against the side of the car and window when driving on the highway. The guy working was extremely helpful and nice and offered to super glue and and put some electrical tape around the mirror to hold it all together. They got me in and out within 30 minutes which I thought was amazing for a walk in. He understood I just needed to get home before I can get a full body service for the damages. I requested quotes for the repair on Yelp and Matt responded very quickly to all my questions and we were able to schedule a repair a few days later. I went to another body shop in the area and they quoted me twice as much as Auto Fixit Body Shop. Someone had hit my parked car in a parking lot. The repairs came out great. They also detailed my car inside and out - which isn't a standard practice with them, but I got a bonus! Also, I had wanted the front of the car painted becuase it had chipped paint from rocks hitting it. They were honest and straightfoward. They said I really didn't need to paint the entire hood (which was $900 quoted at the other body shop) for what I wanted to accomplish and charged me $25 to do paint touch ups on the hood. Overall, Fair and honest. The only negetive is that it is in a bit of a rough looking area and they smoke in the office....but it will save your wallet!!! read more

On the way from Chicago to Grand Rapids we figuratively hit some serious weather and literally hit a serious pothole that made my right rear strut totally disconnect from the frame of my beloved-hated clunker. I was at a loss how to handle this situation. I was in town only for the weekend, and I didn't know how safe it was to drive since the strut was banging around like a mosh pit of one within my wheel well. Anyway, we gave Auto Fixit Body Shop a call, and immediately were reassured it would be okay. The owner said we could bring it in first-thing the following Monday morning when they opened, and he'd have it patched or totally repaired as fast as possible. He delivered. Not only was my strut replaced before noon, but gave me a totally fair price and threw in two new brake lights for free. What Michigan magic is this? I highly recommend the folks at Auto Fixit. I just brought my car in here for the first time for brakes only because they had the lowest price of ANYONE I called. About $100 less than everyone else's price. Adrian Matt and John were the workers I had the pleasure of talking to there and not only were they extremely polite and knowledgeable about everything, the service was done in about a half a day! A couple hours later I go to pick it up and I speak to one of the men there about how they went out of their way to try to fix my broken side mirror. So kindness aside, I got new pads and rotors, an oil change including filling up all my fluids AND installed new wipers. All in under 4 hours and under $450. So whether you care more about the personal interaction/experience or the value of getting thorough quality work without having to pay an outrageous bill - this is where you need to go. If you're looking for a place to get some mechanical repairs done, Auto FixIt will do very nicely. I have had them repair my wife's car for years, and they've always treated her kindly and done a great job with mechanical repairs. However, I would strongly recommend seeking other locations when it comes to paint work. After a chip (about the size of a quarter in the center of the door) appeared on our vehicle, I had Auto FixIt repair the door for $335. When the vehicle came back, the door was a clearly several shades off. I was told I should have the other door repainted, for an additional cost of $200, even though there was nothing wrong with the other door. The first door should have been color-matched correctly from the start. While the paint tech admitted that he "should have noticed" some previous paint work, he didn't and admitted rushing the finished job because they got behind schedule. He also admitted that they didn't have a chance to look at the car door until they put it back on the car when my wife went to pick up the vehicle. Lesson learned: this shop isn't up to par on painting and, sadly, I will now have to pay extra to have my vehicle door repainted. After years of satisfied service, I may also sadly have to find another location to service my vehicle as Auto FixIt was apologetic, but completely unwilling to solve the problem without an additional $200. read more

My friend accidentally side swipe my 08' Subaru Outback leaving scratches and dents down both front and rear passenger side doors. I went to one shop near the airport and was quoted around $3600 for complete door replacement as they couldn't find parts to do a repair. Auto Fixit found parts and gave me a quote for $1500 and four days for repair. They called after two days to tell me a part came in and was not painted like they thought it would be and would cost a bit more. Also asked if I wanted additional dents fixed not caused in the initial inspection. They gave me an updated quote of $1600 and the repaid was finished on day four and looks as good as new. My sunroof was leaking along with the sides of my roof, and, the interior cloth on the roof was hanging down. I took it in Auto Fixit to have it repaired. The estimate for the sealing and the interior fix was for $100. There was a seperate estimate for up to $150., if I needed a heater core. When I got the car back, the interior was not repaired, and I was charged $130. Mrs. Hoogerheide yelled at me that the interior fix was not included because Mr. did not put it on the work order. I did bring it back & make them fix it (he just stapeled it tacky), and there was moisture all on the inside of my windshield which he told me that if it was not sealed proper he would not fix it. Very poor service, overcharged, and not completed. read more

Terrible experience and I have used them several times. Each time I use them they seem nice but they take 3 times as long to repair the car as they estimate. This last time they told me 7-10 days. They got it back to me 35 days later. Also they were to paint my entire SUV, a color similar to the factory blue but darker. They made sure the car was ready for me at the end of the day at dusk, so I would accept it, and when I looked at it in the daylight I found to save money they had not painted the roof at all. I take it they thought it was too high for me to notice. Poor customer service and poor paint job, as I look at the vertical surfaces of the car toward the bottom the paint job has runs and poor coverage. I would take it back to them and demand them to cure their terrible job, however I can't afford to be w/o my car for another 4 weeks while the screw over me again. Stay Away!!!! read more
