We were coming from Milford to go to Michigan adventure and our diesel truck fuel filter clogged and we limped to his Pennzoil store. He put a new fuel filter on and we left, had the same issue so turned around and drove 18 miles an hour on I 96 back to his store. He again did a bunch of things to test the issue and help the problem. Then he took our truck for a test ride to see if that fixed it. While my three sons and I were waiting his employees asked us if we wanted a soda or water. I cannot say enough nice things about this place.

Called the lady at the front desk explaining I had an oil leak and it was the gasket. She said it would take 30 min to fix and so I came on lunch break. Ended up she must have not communicated to them I had an oil leak, all they did was give me an oil change which I had just had 4 days prior. I specified it was an oil leak, why would I go wait 2 hours for an oil change when I can go up street and get one instantly. Then I wait 2 hours and don't understand why no one calls customers who have appointments and tell them they will need to wait. So 2 points, they didn't know about cars enough to understand what I was saying was wrong or didn't care to pay attention, and secondly they took 2 hours after saying it was 30 minutes. I wouldn't mind if they called me in advance but the front desk worker doesn't seem to care.

I've been shopping around to have the passenger side exhaust manifold on my '01 F-150 replaced. I knew this was going to be a little more intensive than I wanted to tackle in my garage, not to mention expensive. As is typical, most of the shops I talked to when I asked for a rough quote gave me the usual "Well, I can't really say how much it's going to be until we get into it" and then gave me a price of "between $450 and $950." off the top of their head. When I came into Lentz on Alpine, Fred B. was happy to help. Not only was he very knowledgeable about what was involved, but he also jumped on the computer to pull up accurate part prices and labor time, resulting in an estimate that he was confident would at least be close to the actual cost. I dropped the truck off a week later, and after 1 business day he called to let me know my truck was all set, and the total cost came in $40 cheaper than the estimate he gave me. These guys did a fantastic job. Very impressed with the service, the price, and the accuracy. Would recommend these guys to anyone needing their car or truck repaired. And I'm happy I found a shop I can trust to work with whenever one of my old trucks has an issue I can't/don't want to fix myself. I will absolutely be back. read more

I have a custom exhaust under my Audi that came off it's bracket and broke the weld. It was no problem for them to make a section, making it as good as new. They went above and beyond by fixing a couple areas that would have been a future problem without adding to the original quoted price! Doug was a pleasure to work with. Some things needed to be done soon so I had them fix it and they also told me about some things that would be needing attention in the future. I have gone back to have them fix that also. They got the car "fixed" quickly which was great. However they claimed it was something loose with my parking break. I barely drove it down the road and noticed nothing was different. So I took it somewhere else and got it sorted. When they called they mentioned that the problem could be something else but that it wasn't. I took their advice. They didn't even bother to drive it around to check their work. So disappointed.

I want to say they told me they'd look at the car Tuesday, but didn't look at it until the end of Wednesday. It's possible I'm confused on that point, since I called some other mechanics first. Once they got the car in, they did the work right away. The woman working the customer side of things was knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Working with her made everything easy to manage. Complaints: - They for some reason "had to use a Denso" starter, which added a large amount to the final cost, and of course was marked up after that. Not sure why they needed to use a Denso, or why a remanufactured part cost more than twice the new parts at rockauto. - Bigger complaint: Looks like they used a remanufactured part, and no one asked or mentioned. So not only did I pay too much for a starter, but I thought I'd at least be getting a new one. - They replaced the air filter without asking and without naming it in the quote I was given over the phone. So another 20 bucks for something I could have ordered off Amazon and put in myself in 30 second. At least the filter was only about 4 bucks more through them than Amazon is charging during COVID, but it's about twice what I paid last time. It's really the principle of the thing. It's possible this stuff was just communication issues. I don't know why they "had to use a Denso", for instance, but also didn't ask about it. Because I had dropped the car off to get checked out, it's possible the air filter was something that should have been mentioned, but due to the nature of phone calls, it just slipped through the cracks as the woman was looking at the quote, and when I gave the go-ahead, the mechanics just did what I supposedly approved over the phone. So look, I have some concerns and some questions, but overall I'm guessing the work was done well. Using a remanufactured Denso means they probably made sure to use the "right" part even if it wasn't the cheapest. And the price (make sure you go on their website and print coupons first, and mention them before you make payment) and service are leaps and bounds better than what the local Toyota dealer offers. Besides, if they do a better job than most mechanics, it's worth paying a bit more to make sure it's done right. I'll probably come back here for the next thing that comes up, and hopefully next time there won't be any surprises or questions.
