I've taken my vehicle to Auto Imports multiple times. I am always treated well by the staff.

Safety inspection: Safety inspection: We took our used vehicle for an insurance inspection. The fee was reasonable to pay for finding them online. We knew we needed to do some work and it was expected buying an older vehicle. We do need it to be up to standard to feel safe and reliable. We got the report and over-priced estimate but we just assumed today rates are very expensive repairs to vehicles. We took the report at face value and paid a fee and we were not willing to put out 4000 for repairs of a 2009 Lancer. We then took it home and ordered parts and did repairs ourselves on weekends and evenings. We used the report given to make all the safety requirements listed that needed to be DONE according to the in inspection report Auto Imports provided. We then took the vehicle back to them after we did all the required replacements listed on their report and paid for a wheel alignment as well as it was also required on our list as another fee for safety inspection. We then were told a whole NEW list of repairs again pricing well over 3000. The repairs listed were NOT on the original repost. They came up with a Whole new list of repairs to be done. This is not a good way to do business. The same mechanic did both reports... I ask how it is possible and how it is fair to the average working person. We needed a smaller vehicle cheaper on gas for commuting to and from work. I do not understand this type of Shady business practice. No matter what you say... in defence it is never going to explain this type of business practises. You give a person a report of repairs .. a person using this list like a checklist to do repairs only to then make a NEW list of repairs. Either you need a new mechanic or like I say Shady business. Trying to take advantage of people in today's economy is horrible. read more

The service is friendly.. they seem knowledgeable... or they did until I brought my car to another mechanic just for a second look. Turns out.. the repairs that Auto Imports said I needed and quoted me for, didn't need to be fixed at all. Nothing was found to be wrong with the vehicle and the second shop showed me nothing was wrong. So I suggest you do your own research. I know 80% of the comments are positive... read more

There are honest businesses, and then there is Auto Imports. Expect Nash (the owner) to bill you more hours than book time BEFORE the work starts = fraud. Nash has (and likely will) charge you $800 for a low-mileage transmission but install a far cheaper and higher-mileage one. How can the customer tell? = fraud. The service advisor(s) will quote you a "wallet flush" = every fluid in the vehicle will test contaminsted and need immediate replacing. Should the mechanic damage a component . . . watch Nash tell you it is not Auto Import's fault. Professionalism and a moral backbone is seriously lacking here. Can they do good work? Yes . . . but come in informed and ready to say no. Out of province vehicle inspections are especially risky here because of the line "at the mechanic's discression." read more

Ask for your part at the start to be sure. They charged 1200 to "replace a drain hose" in a sun rood and then talked about a panel needing replacing for another 2k and when a second opinion was asked, all of a sudden a used part was f"found". For 900. When she asked for the part it was already in the dumpster. I really don't think they did anything at all. read more

I took my 2016 Chev Silvardo to auto imports for out of province review. Shortly after dropping the vehicle, I received a call: you have a check engine light no. "I do not. I have just left it at your place; it had no light on." "Check engine light can come anytime." "Strange. I do not believe it was there." "Now it is.,we will check and let you know." A little later another phone call: "Your rear break rotters are pitted." "That cannot be true, I have driven it from Seattle to Edmonton two days ago, breaks were perfect. Pitted rotters do not allow proper break operation." "We have to replace them and if we replace them, we also have to replace the break pads. It is weather related. It cannot pass the vehicle." "This is very strange, indeed. Only one side has pitted rotters! How can weather select one side over the other?" "You will receive an estimate." I went there, picked up the vehicle, and told Jeremy how unethical his business is. The nightmare started with these conversations. It has not ended yet. Each day, the interaction is becoming more difficult, with threats to put a lien on the vehicle. An experienced scammer! read more

Auto Imports are my regular mechanics and they are always friendly and do a great job. We were starting on a road trip on Saturday afternoon and on Friday evening, the engine light came on in my car. We dropped by on Saturday morning to see if anything could be done. Vijay was his usual delightful self and, when he saw me fretting, assured me he could have the car roadworthy later that day. Me & my 2 girl friends needed out of province inspections. We all ended up needing extensive work on our vehicles, which we were all expecting. I ended up getting about 2000$ worth of work done, and leaving the other 2500$ worth of work for a little later in the future. But after getting quotes from other places for the rest of the work that needs done I am confident that I got scammed. Every other quote I have gottn has been around 500$ - 1000$and less than half the things need to be done than what they told me. Being younger girls from out of town, it has been so hard finding people to take us seriously in shops. Which I understand is part of the way it goes, but I really felt used and upset that I spent so much money here. The people that helped us were very friendly & made me think I wasn't being lied too, so I feel stupid about being so naïve. I am thankful that Im getting the rest of my work done else where :( read more

This is auto service as good as it gets. Staff not only communicated very clearly, but was able to fix all my issues with my older BMW 5 series at an incredibly reasonable price. They even oiled my locks, doors and washed my car! Washed my car people! Edmonton in the winter means dirty cars and I don't have a garage. I felt first class and all smiles when I left. GET A SECOND OPINION. Took my car in as I was having trouble with door and locking mechanism. Turns out it was just frozen, this would have been a perfect opportunity to create customer loyalty by maybe giving me a break on the price? You could have charged me less than the hour of labour you quoted ($150), as this obviously did not take an hour of labour. HOWEVER, what you did do with the time was a "complimentary underbody inspection" where you found $1800 worth of recommended services. My father is a mechanic and looked at my vehicle one month prior...so I was skeptical. I took it back to my dealership and had them do another inspection. None of this recommended work is necessary at this time. I am so angry and feel like I was taken advantage of be being a single, young female that walked in without a vehicle concern. I will stay clear of Auto Imports from now on and recommend others do the same. read more
