I'm really glad I don't pay attention to negative reviews or sour grapes. I gave this a five star rating because from the minute I walked in, I knew it was going to be an easy experience. I took a number, waited maybe 4 minutes and Alexia called me over. She is wonderful! She is kind, patient and knowledgeable. I will always go back to this DOL. I'd give 5 stars to the first woman who helped me today--she was absolutely wonderful. I lost two vehicle titles in a fire and had to leave to get a notarized form from the credit union where I financed one of the vehicles. She patiently double-checked everything and made sure all my forms were filled out properly before I left, which I really appreciated. When I returned, unfortunately, I was helped by someone else and had a very different experience. This second woman's tone was unprofessional and frankly, pretty crappy. She was impatient, snappy, and even raised her voice at me. Then she suddenly switched to being overly sweet, which felt disingenuous. She told me right away she couldn't help me because I wasn't a Washington resident, asking where my Washington license was (I recently moved to Idaho), and started arguing with me about why I needed the title. I explained that I just needed the title--it's a whole story, but ultimately, it's my business and I need it to do anything with the vehicle, whether it's registering, selling, etc. Vehicle titling is already a frustrating process, but having knowledgeable and respectful help makes a huge difference. I would've rather done this by mail than deal with that second interaction. read more

Nasty woman that sits at the little desk to the left. father in law needed disabled parking tag. had doctors note and faxed copy of the application and she said they won't take it unless it's a wet copy(which says that NOWHERE!!!!!!!). and she wouldn't even try for an exception while my dad stood there with his walke. what a BIG BEEEOTCH! read more

Long lines, few tellers. Stopped to get a boat license from a boat I bought it of state. Staff had bad information on titling in North Dakota... Took three trips and had to bring in my own Google documentation before they would look further into it. On my last visit, I was there one hour, one teller only most of that time between breaks, lunch and talking on the phone. Very little visible effort to reduce the line, it make something happen. read more

Highly recommend. Went in to transfer an out of state motorcycle title. When the woman behind the counter pulled it up there was an issue with the title. She called Olympia for me waited on hold with me got it all straightened out and left with new plates, transferred title and registration. Great customer service and help! read more

There is nothing positive I could say about this place of business and if I could give them negative stars, I would. They ask customers to take a number when they enter and then they don't even remotely follow the numbering system. Not only that, every last one of those women is rude and inconsiderate. And, you get varying information depending on what day you go in there and what person you talk to. read more

Cammie was extremely rude, condescending, and just plain mean making it seem like the questions that I was asking were dumb and the answers should have been obvious to me. When trying to get more information on the fees of a newly obtained vehicle, I was asking for clarification on what she meant because I was going to have to explain this to the secondary owner of the vehicle and she very snidely said "well since you're not understanding bring them down here and I'll explain it to them." That was uncalled for. The bill seemed high so I was trying to find out the fee schedule, to which she replied "the fees are what they are, they don't change they're imposed by the tate of washington not us." That wasn't an explanation of the fees that was just being rude. Completely unhelpful, and extremely unprofessional, rude and condescending. Do not recommend speaking with her or using this location if it can be avoided. read more

Went here trying to get a boat transferred into my name from Idaho. Went back a bunch if times as they claimed I didnt have the right registration. I even brought the previous owner in and they still wouldn't transfer even when having a bill of sale. I went to Idaho and figured it out and I had all the paperwork I needed. They pretty much gave me the runaround and they need more training on how to transfer out of state, will not go back again. read more

Old lady Becky needs to go. Very rude and very unprofessional. She didn't know what she was doing. I needed to license and new boat trailer and she was telling me $600. I said no way . She couldn't Tell me how she was getting that number. She said I can't get thru to you and said she needed to go in the back and get a drink. Thru some paperwork away then said I never said $600. She's a complete moran. Told the other lady working that she can't help me. LMAO Becky, the other gal Sierra helped me and it was $106. This is also the same lady that told me I couldn't license and scooter cuz it wasn't street legal that had been licensed for 12 years. I have had Two issues with this business. It is less than one mile from my house but I will not return. First; I bought a car for $750 because the transmission wasn't working. The car Booked for $4000 and they were going to charge me tax on the book value. I went to another Lisencing office an explained the situation. They had me fill out a form explaining what was wrong with the car. That in combination with my bill of sale and the signed title with selling price let me pay tax on what I paid for the car. Second issue; I ordered tabs online for one of my cars. I was not notified when they arrived. I forgot about them for at most Two weeks. I called again and was told they showed up but they no longer had them. They supposedly mailed them out but didn't know what date they sent them. I was told I needed to pay $10 if I wanted new tabs. It's been a week since talking to them. My tabs are now expired. I went to a different location and paid $5 for replacements. Save yourself the headache and go to another lisencing location. read more

For reasons that don't need explaining, we all dread going to get our tabs renewed. We recently purchased an RV. Initially it was a nightmare, the lady who sold it to us stole the bench seat out when we were signing papers at the bank. Then the engine blew out a spark plug on the way home, our first 10 miles as RV owners! Unable to take the vehicle through emissions, we were working at the very end of our extension to get it registered without penalty. When requesting the extension, an employee at another Licensing Office pointed out that the owner had signed paperwork without her hyphenated legal name, which technically invalidated the registration paperwork. Needless to say, after a couple of weeks of jumping through hoops just to be able to pay taxes and licensing fees, we were exhausted! Opting to go to what we hoped would be a friendlier licensing office, we arrived at the 328 N Sullivan location. We were greeted by Marci, who explained she was leaving for a long awaited vacation in 10 minutes and might have to hand us off to a co-worker (no worries). Then Marci's thoroughness spotted a mistake by the bank as well as the aforementioned signature issue. My wife and I felt nothing but dread.... Instead of what we knew was coming, Marci said: "I know how to handle this, give me a minute." With a call to Olympia and another to the bank of the selling party we were assured that this would get smoothed out. When the time came Marci asked both of the other employees to take over and each declined saying they have something to do.... (Hooray co-workers, right?) Undeterred, Marci plodded through the paperwork and followed up with calls. 20 minutes into her vacation, Marci made us legal owners of our RV. As a business owner, this individual embodies the qualities and ethic that we seek in employees. More than that, Marci made our visit to the Licensing Office really pleasant, really! This office is the only place we will be taking our licensing fees. read more

Wow, what a horrible experience! I imported a foreign motorcycle and went to this office to transfer the title, obtain a registration, and purchase a plate with tabs. Prior to my visit I called both the DOL in Olympia and this office to ensure that I had all the paperwork required. I arrived at this office at 8:30 Monday morning and worked with the manager for over one hour. After repeated consultation with Olympia and another clerk at that office, the result was a list of items I needed. The list included notarized "certificate of fact forms" for correctly translated documents and a CBP Form 7501. I completed the list and returned the next morning. I presented all the information to the clerk and she said, "I can already tell you that this isn't going to work." I asked why. She stated that one of the certificate of fact forms had a correction on it and wasn't acceptable. I asked for her supervisor to confirm this and she stated "my supervisor was right here and we won't accept this" (even though the supervisor was not there). I asked her to reconsider. She refused. I said that I had been working with that office for 14 years and she would loose my business. She didn't care. I took my information to the Spokane Valley Licensing, Inc.office. The clerk accepted all the paperwork, called Olympia on her personal cell phone (all of the office lines were busy), and promptly processed my title, registration, and plate with tabs. Wow, what a difference between two offices providing the same services. I highly recommend the Spokane Valley Licensing, Inc. office and will use them for all my cars, boats, trailers, and motorcycles. read more
