I found a car from them on Autotrader for delivery and fully trusted the salesmen when they told me I had nothing to worry about, even if I didn't "like it" I could return it within 15 days, but to not worry because I was going to "love this car". The car not only arrived with more miles then stated and trash in the car, it also came back from the inspection with a leaking transmission, leaking power steering and almost $3000 worth of front end work needed to stop it from shaking and pulling hard to the left when I brake. When I contacted them via text and certified mail for them to honor their return I was told I could have if the car came back with any defects, they ghosted me for 7 weeks until the Attorney General got involved, then their only option was to drive the car they sold me with a leaking transmission back to them the 300 miles away. Well, I now have a $10,000 paperweight sitting in my garage that I can't drive or get rid of, despite having a 15 day warranty and purchasing an extended warranty. On June 14, 2025, my son and I drove 6 hours from Tennessee to Springfield, IL to purchase his first car--a 2009 Ford Mustang--from Auto Mall of Springfield after finding it on CarGurus. He contacted the dealership to ask about shipping, but was told he had to apply through their site and drive up if approved. He applied, was approved, and we made the trip the same day. During the test drive, my son noticed the air wasn't working. The salesman said it just needed to be charged and that AutoZone could do it. I asked if they could fix it before we left, but was told mechanics aren't there on weekends. I expressed concern, since we had a long, hot drive back to TN. When we met with the manager for final approval, I brought it up again. He had the salesman recharge it. After finalizing approval, we were sent off-site to a different building to sign. The numbers didn't match, and I had to insist they call the manager to fix it. We drove home to TN, but by the next day (June 16), the windows, A/C, and radio stopped working. On June 17, the car wouldn't start. We replaced the battery to get it going. We called the dealership and were told the 15-day warranty only covers the transmission. On July 7, the car died again while driving and had to be towed. A police officer even asked my son if it was stolen. We took it to a Ford dealer who confirmed the motor was seized. I called the manager and politely explained. He was rude, dismissive, and hung up on me. I tried repeatedly to call back. Another rep said he'd call me back--he never did. Another manager hung up on me again. My son hadn't even made his first payment. We were sold a lemon and treated terribly. Auto Mall of Springfield's customer service is unacceptable. Nate Daniels was very pleasant, but then however, he pulled some very unethical practices by slipping 2 products that we not authorized or disclosed in the sale process, the bill of sale didn't include them until after we process the title work at a different off site location. 2019 4 runner sr5 Beware!!! Called them on a Friday to see if vehicle was still available and it was, so I drove 1 1/2 hours. Vehicle was rough, but below blue book value. Made the deal under the agreement that the oil leak, 4x4, and bad vibration, left the required deposit and when all repaired I would make the trip back to pick up. I didn't hear anything from them, so called 4 days later and they assured me that everything was repaired so I headed back up there today. Upon arrival I took to get an inspection before finalizing and am grateful that I did. Best $60 I have ever spent. The Auto shop mechanic (Toyota expert) recommended by the sales guy inspected the vehicle and noted some alarming issues. The vibration was still there, the oil leak was still there and identified as timing chain cover issue, all the exterior lights were randomly going on and off indicating an electrical short and the best was that it wasn't the original motor. With all of these symptoms the certified Toyota technician stated that it was most likely a flood vehicle. I called lou fuze Toyota in st.louis to see how much to replace the motor and go through and repair the electrical system, I was told that $20k would be a ballpark number. I returned and spoke to a different sales person, I guess that is what they do to mislead and confuse customers. I offered them $10k under their asking price and he laughed stating that I must have worked with this shop before, I told him that I have not and live almost 2 hours away and reminded him that this shop was referred to me by them. asked for my deposit back, he the went to the owners son and he tried to keep $100 of my deposit. I finally had to show my bank statement to the other sales guy because the owners kid would not even talk to me as I fell that he knew that this deal wasn't on the up and up. I finally got my full deposit back with some persuasion. I hope people read this post, especially if you are interested in this 2019 black sr5 BEWARE!!! Great news with my truck. The finance company finally cancelled my loan, giving me all the money I paid. It was confirmed that my 2022 Dodge Ram 3500 didn't have 76k miles on it, it really has 566k miles on it. He got that truck 2 weeks before I seen it. He told me he told me he was going to put another engine in it lol. I said how are you going to put an engine in a truck with 566k miles on it. He said the dodge dealer was probably lying. He didn't know that they told me first. This is a huge truth It's called odometer fraud. I still haven't gotten my 10k down payment that I was manipulated that is was the only way I could get the loan after they said twice I was denied by the same finance company. As for the 9k dollar add-ons they said was included with the truck I don't get anything back cause he tried to get them added to my loan but they said no. My journey isn't over. They and by they I mean the auto mall employees. drive it to the finance lot and when we get maybe 20 miles down the road the check engine light comes on. Now her sister is driving as my daughter had her other car. So her sister thought she was aware. The daughter who purchased this truck was not aware. Which Really wasn't a biggie , but the problem is when we got it looked at it needs a new oil pump. Which requires taking the truck apart and like $3000 or more job. No one buys a car to put that much into it with a day of having it. She called them to let them know and they said bring it in. They said oh we ordered the parts on Monday. After we dropped it back off on Sunday because we were headed out of town. But Monday they said we ordered the parts and should be ready at the end of week. On Tuesday they say it's ready. Me telling her that doesn't sound right but ok. Her and her sister went to pick it up. Well they don't even make it 5 mins and the light comes on again. What does that sound like, sounds like they cleared the code. She turned around and took it right back. So they still have the truck in their possession. The auto mall that is. She said this time I want receipts of the parts and work. They told her they don't keep records of that. Umm excuse me. Every repair shop including dealerships have to give receipts. No one just pays blindly for repairs. But hey a young lady they thought they could get over on. Her financial company said she should have 30 days to return the car. But they said no returns. NEVER BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!!!! I bought a cadillac from this company and within the first 2 weeks it wouldnt start. Ever since then, (not even 2 years) I have spent around the same money in repairs as I did to initially purchase the vehicle. The car has spent around about the same time - if not more - in my mechanic's shop as it has on the road. I was promised that everything works as it should and was shown the carfax as well as the sales employee eddie stating that it was in perfectly good condition. After taking it to my mechanic (because of the initial problem of the car not starting) he immediately found that the car had obvious underlying damage and was most likely in a serious accident in regards to the front ends condition. Their mechanics blatantly ignored this issue (gross negligence) and sold the car as is. Eddie swore up and down that with my warranty, all of my concerns would be taken care of once i purchased the warranty ( i purchased level 2), any electrical issues as well as major mechanical component failures of the car would be covered yet they have not covered a single thing. Once I tried to cancel my warranty and have it refunded (to cover a $2700 mechanic repair fee) Eddie tried to withhold it to hear the words "I'm sorry" (for saying f***ing over the phone) come out of my mouth. After telling him I have contacted the State's attorney general and will be having private attorney's deal with this situation he decided to send a link for the cancellation of my warranty. Now he has blocked my number and I am unable to call the dealership to have the situation dealt with. It has been a never ending run around with this company from day ONE. They are egregiously deceptive and unprofessional. Looking back on it now, i should have known from the start ever since going to a second hand location to finalize my deal. They will lure you to the dealership with a price for a car that doesn't include an "accessories" charge - for us today, the car was listed on their site (as well as cars.com, cargurus, etc.) for 23,495 but there was an undisclosed 2,190 accessories charge that they will claim the regulators won't allow them to show on the listing (obviously, complete BS). I would call and ask for all charges (including what they will try to characterize as fees) before wasting your time driving over there. I said I'd leave a deposit while I try to arrange a flight. He said they only take Zelle, so I sent him $1000. Huge mistake! I never signed anything, and he never said they don't refund deposits. The next day, I decided not to travel, and text him my request for refund. To this day, he has never responded. It's been over a month. I've contacted BBB, and Attorney General. Truck has (44k miles)First they didn't let me know that the car got into 2 accidents and had severe damaged to the whole front end and roof. Then upon inspection, seems the engine was swapped with a high Milage engine and was leaking oil everywhere. Transmission was also leaking and jerky while driving. I There was a lot of smoke coming out of the exhaust from burning oil. Coolant tank was black from oil and there was sign of rust residue on oil cap and coolant tank.The driveshaft for the transfer case to the front differential was gone. Hood and front bumper in the front wasn't lined up rear bumper is all messed up and crooked. So probably had an accident in the rear as well. back up camera doesn't work tail gate is all busted. This is a joke of a dealership. We spent over 6 hours there. I had already paid the down payment at the first location. Then they sent us to the second location to fill out paperwork (already a pretty sketchy set-up) and was ready to sign the paperwork for my vehicle when I noticed they had charged $900+ in additional fees. We asked them to remove the fees or we weren't moving forward with the deal. The guy we were with brought in another man who was extremely rude and disrespectful. At that point we told them no deal and we wanted our down payment back and we were leaving. He said, "really, you're gonna drive back to Columbia?" We said yes and he said he didn't have our down payment - which we knew because we paid it at the first location where the guy counted it and literally stuck it in his pocket. I was persuaded to put down a down payment to hold the vehicle. Unfortunately, i live out of state and was unable to arrange to get my brother to look it over in a timely manner. Rather than having the Auto Mall hold a car that I might reject if it had problems, I asked to cancel the deal and requested my down payment be refunded. It was at that point that I was informed that down payments are non-refundable. Eddie offered to have the car inspected by an inspector of his choice and ship the car to me. Terrible, uncaring service and hidden $400 charges for "theft deterrent". I bought a truck for a fair price but asked to have a rusted gas cap cover replaced at MY expense in their body shop. After 10 days I called and was told it was JUST FINISHED that very morning. I had to travel an hour to get to Springfield. I called the dealership and asked if I came the next day by train, would they come and pick me up (10 minute drive according to Google). "Sure, we can do that." I told them when I would be coming, and the next day, I called from the train station. (Remember, I have already paid them.) Standing outside the station, under the sky waiting to rain, the response changes to "Oh no, we can't do that now". About 3+ miles of walking later, I arrived at theh dealership. They could not have cared less. Later at home (now days past the 3 day period to back out of the contract) I see the $400 charge. Just go elsewhere.
