Saved Our Road Trip When We Needed It Most We were on a tough road trip from Houston to Appleton, Wisconsin for a funeral when our 2022 Hyundai Palisade died Friday in front of D'Arcy's Pint in Springfield. My car was stuck in a parking garage, which isn't the easiest situation for a tow. Instead of saying it couldn't be done, Maria and her husband Jerry immediately started figuring out how to help. Maria even came to pick me up, got me a charger for my phone, helped me find a safe hotel, and made sure I had food and snacks while everything was being sorted out. That same evening, Jerry gathered a team of people, went back to the garage, pushed my car out from the 3rd floor and safely towed it so it could be inspected the next day. Jerry told me no was not an option. We hear a lot about "exceptional customer service," but this family truly lives it. The kindness they showed a complete stranger is something I will never forget. These guys are AWESOME! I got a flat tire last night and my insurance dispatched a guy from Springfield Auto body and Towing. He was great! I unfortunately did not get his name. He told me he believed my tire could be patched and to come to the shop first thing in the morning. I arrived and was helped immediately first thing in the morning. I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes. The guys were nothing but kind, patient, and helpful in a not so ideal situation. I couldn't have asked for better help. This happened because of a flat tire which I had no idea the spare tire you are given with your car (this car was new) is a thin piece of rubber called a doughnut and so I called my insurance guy and he said roadside assistance which I had never used and will never use again. I got the tow guy over pretty fast but it went downhill from there as they no longer tow any vehicle I guess I'm not sure what that big bad boy is used for but it wasn't what I was raised to think. He put the thin piece of rubber on there and said bring it to us immediately and there we will replace the tire so at first I couldn't get the emergency brake down (I never have used this) but I finally figured it out and called the tow truck guy cause I never could get a hold of anyone on the card with the the phone. I called the number on the card on Friday after the tow truck guy left to see how to get the emergency brake down in order to drive the car on the flat doughnut to the other side of town to get my new tire but the phone rang off the hook, no answering machine or nothing. I emailed the address in the card and it came back undeliverable so ima thinking is this a real company? Again on Monday I called the number on the card and this time it said it had been disconnected so I called the only number I had which was the tow truck driver who apparently doesn't tow anything just drives that big bad boy trailer around for looks. He said they probably just took the phone off the hook. Hmmmm what a way to do business!! Anyway, I told him I got everything ready to go and I'm on my way over on the other side of town to get my tire and he said okay get over there. Well I get there and the office is empty except for one receptionist person who was on the phone. She was nice but nice ain't what I'm looking for. Looking for fast service and looking for the guy the tow truck driver said to find. Not sure who I talked to because no one introduced me to Steve so I'm not sure who he was as there were only two offices in the building and they were both empty but he said no we don't keep tires here, we have to order them and it will take a couple of days. WTF so I'm ready to go somewhere else by then cuz I got up early and I been tired since the accident when all of a sudden the guy makes a call on the phone telling me...It's almost 10 o'clock to get the orders in but then the tire will be here at noon so instead of making you wait four hours let me at least air up the flat tire and then we will call you this afternoon. I knew it sounded too good to be true and I could feel his dishonesty; he was as a salesman. I waited ALL DAY. The receptionist Jen called and left a message at 5pm and said curtly we normally leave at 5Pm but we will wait for you if you can get here in two minutes. WTF I didn't know what to do so I decided to get a second opinion but guess what all the places I called are for COMMERCIAL or BIG BUSINESS CORPORATIONS. Not one place in Springfield, Illinois have I found someone to replace one tire. I'm not sure what to do now. Perhaps trade it in for an older car with a real spare tire in the trunk. USA you never built back better you sold us out to C H I N A. MEN LIE. How they stay in business idk...guess they hooked up to insurance agencies. read more

Excellent service!! - Needed roadside service so I called my insurance company for help, unfortunately they could not find anyone willing to go out on a Sunday morning, so I had to find one on my own. I called Springfield Autobody & Towing and even though they are a significant distance from where my car was (about an hour) they were able to find an employee who lived pretty close to my location and he came out and changed the tire so we were able to continue our trip home. They went above and beyond to try and help me find a solution to my situation. Again excellent service!!! read more

I was referred to Steve by Frosty Clouser, my auto repair man, and I'm so thankful! I'd torn my front bumper most of the way off so it wasn't safe to drive. My son took it the rest of the way off and was able to put it in my car. I'd called Steve and he said come in, he'd take a look at it. I could have had it done perfectly by Steve but I asked him if he could do it as cheaply as possible. He knocked it out of the park! When I have the money to get it done "right" I'll come back to Steve for sure! read more

I pulled off the exit for a Casey's near Springfield. I was on my way from Davenport, Iowa to St Louis on a Friday for a 3 day volleyball weekend. When getting ready to leave the Casey's, my car made a terrible sound and ball bearings fell out from my front wheel. Luckily I had a friend following me and was able to get me the rest of the way down. From that moment on, starting with the call for roadside assistance, and the tow truck that was dispatched to get the car to a local shop, the communication and assistance was above and beyond and a pleasant reminder that epic customer service still exists and by Monday on my way back thru the area, I was able to pick up my fixed car and drive it home to Davenport! I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GREAT THINGS, about how this place does business from beginning to end to help out a stranger from out of town and get me safely back home with very little inconvenience that was so very helpful and important to me!
