My husband had originally made the reservation through Expedia. We were trying to add myself as one of the drivers when we picked up the rental vehicle. We were told by Hertz manager trainee named , Y'Darius Hampton, it would be $15 extra a day unless we were gold members. I then asked how do we become gold members and Mr. Hampton told us we would have to sign up online on the Hertz app. I told him that we would go and sign up online. Mr. Hampton then stated that the gold membership would not apply to this reservation. I asked why, and Mr. Hampton said it was because the reservation had already been made previously without the gold membership. My husband then asked Mr. Hampton why we couldn't add a gold membership number to a previous reservation. Mr. Hampton replied that it's tricky and it wouldn't be easy to do, but that there was a work around that he thought he could do. My husband also asked if we should make another reservation using the gold membership number and Mr Mr. Hampton said that he didn't recommended it as the reservation is not guaranteed to come through or that they would have the vehicle that we had originally requested. My husband went ahead and tried to do that while Mr. Hampton was doing something else, but it didn't allow a gold membership number to be put on Expedia when making a reservation. We back reservations all the time through Delta and other places and they allow you to put numbers on. I'm not sure why Hertz does not. To add insult to injury already, we were told that we were going to have to drive a lesser vehicle called a Chevy Trax that wasn't even the same size but for the same price as the Nissan rogue. ??? We had originally reserved a Nissan Rogue through Expedia as we needed that size to travel in. It's even in a different size category than the Chevy Trax. We are headed to a funeral in Tulsa, Oklahoma, later today and we need space in a larger vehicle to transport things needed for the funeral. We were told that the Nissan Rogue would not be ready as it was needing an oil change. However, when we drove around the Hertz building, there was a pistachio colored Nissan rogue, just sitting around the building with all the other cars that look like they were for rent. And finally, Mr. Hampton then told us that he couldn't figure out the workaround to add our gold membership to the reservation. He blamed Expedia and it was a third-party situation that they could not fix. Hopefully, you can understand our frustration and challenges. We are in a tough situation already as it is with having to go to a funeral, but then to have this happen as well? We are now having to scramble to get another vehicle. Hertz didn't even try to go the extra mile and find another vehicle for us somewhere else. They just gave us their card when we asked for it and said have a great day! I would not expect this type of Customer service in 2026. ESPECIALLY, not in Woodstock, Georgia. Maybe in Atlanta yes but not Woodstock. At 11:50 Hertz called and told my husband that there was all of a sudden a midsize vehicle that became available. We're at home at this time and we've already and just made a reservation with Enterprise Rent A Car. It's $40 more than it was with Hertz, but it's not worth the additional challenges that Hertz gave us. It's also rather amazing that in just 20 minutes of vehicle became available. We work hard for our money and spend it wisely. Our time is valuable and we are loyal to companies that do us right. I'm truly disappointed in the Customer service that Hertz offered today. I truly hope you can do better moving forward for other customers.

I informed them that I had the loss damage waiver on the vehicle and shouldn't they take care of it. The representative told me that they had a data breach and it was not showing, and asked me if I could prove that. I sent her a copy of the rental agreement, and instead of fixing the problem told me that they would take it under consideration and forward the document to a manager. What a dump. Save your self the headache. There's a reason this place declared bankruptcy and it is getting sued all the time.
