Took it to the shop on June 11th. It took 3 weeks to repair. $8000 total. From my research online that is a fair price and 3 weeks is a reasonable timeframe. Called on July 2nd I was told it was ready so I picked it up that evening. I drove home and before I made it all the way it started shifting weird on the highway. I stopped and it was leaking transmission fluid everywhere. So much that it got on the backup camera on the tailgate. I limped home and left it for the weekend. This is when I thought it was just a small mistake. Not ideal but I can understand how it could happen I called that evening and left a message letting them know what happened. Monday morning I had to call again (they did not bother to call me). It was towed in. On that call I asked how this could happen. Apparently they dont test drive vehicles at highway speeds after rebuilding a transmission. Unbelievably negligent, lazy and ridiculous it wasnt tested properly. They started paying for my rental car so I could still work. Technically at this point I am not out anymore money though so I just moved on and hoped it would be resolved quickly July 7th I called after hearing nothing and they said it was ready to pick up. I picked it up the next day. Supposedly the issue was they had overfilled the transmission fluid and that made it overheat and boil out of the vents. Turned out that wasnt it but if it had been that is such an avoidable mistake. While driving 80 on the highway it suddenly stops shifting and I rapidly lose speed. Terrifying and unsafe as I go from 80 to 60 in seconds with people behind, in front and alongside me. After pulling over I call again. Towed back again. This time I ride over with the tow truck driver. I have to know what happened. I get there and start talking with the front desk. Immediately I am being pushed to just go to a rental place and they will pay for another car like its a favor. Guy at the front desk has to ask the owner so he goes back to the office and asks him questions then talks to me and goes back again. One of the owners is there and after they book me an uber he comes out of the office and is looking at his phone and not really acknowledging me. I stop him as hes walking by. At this point I had to ask for some of my money back. This is such an unacceptable amount of mistakes and they actually put my life in danger Within 2 minutes of going back and forth the owner says verbatim 'the only thing you can do to get anything back is to hire a lawyer but you will lose'. Addressing the shocking level of negligence not properly testing and supposedly overfilling the transmission fluid he said 'I wasnt there that day'. I Didnt say he was and what difference would that make? The mistakes happened and I never assumed hes personally working on the vehicles but regardless it is his shop and he should compensate people for this huge of a mistake. TWICE. He also said 'I cant have my guys out test driving all day'. If you are doing major repairs that cost $8000 and take 3 weeks you can spare an hour to take the truck on the highway. Insane. He also made some kind of statement along the lines that these transmissions in newer rangers are so complicated they cant guarantee it is actually fixed. Great then dont charge me $8000 saying it will be fixed. He is completely stonewalling me and acting like it is not a big deal. I stopped there as I was worried he would try to stop paying for my rental which I cant afford at this point I leave and pick up my next rental (rental car number 4). I call every couple of days to check on it (still receiving no calls from them). Finally after another 3 weeks on July 31st I get a call that it is ready. I picked it up drove it home only on backroads to avoid the highway. Scheduled a carvana pickup and sold the truck within 4 hours of picking it up. I still dont know if it was actually fixed I want to say if they had given me even some of my money back $200 to $400. Anything. An apology. Seemed reasonable in any way shape or form, I would not be leaving this review. They have a perfect 5 star rating. I cant for the life of me figure out how TLDR: paid $8000 to have my transmission rebuilt. It took 3 weeks to return (seems normal). Then it broke down again. Then a week later broke down again. Owner refused to take any responsibility or apologize or give any money back. Told me my only option is to hire a lawyer but 'I'll lose'. After another month I finally got it back (7 weeks in total) and sold it the same day. No idea if it was actually fixed I never drove it again. In 7 weeks they did not call to update me once. I received 3 calls from them. 2 to ask if they can add parts that will cost extra and 1 to finally tell me it's ready. Stay away. Cant believe the negligence or the 5 star reviews

I learned one thing as he continually disappeared to his truck to be on the phone and smoke cigarettes. I assume he was watching a U tube video on how to do the job. It was clear he had no idea what he was doing. Eventually he got so frustrated with the fix he showed his true colors. He got angry and offensive. After hours we started up the car, he used his truck to jump start the car? Why would a real machinic not have a portable tool to do that? Car started and he drove away leaving the bill. Well, a couple minutes later the car died. Called him back to access what was up because he wanted $700 hundred dollar and I am in the dark at 10 o'clock with a car that still had issues. When he arrived eventually, he was on his motorcycle with only a few tools. He tested the battery and said that was the problem. The situation got heated as I asked why would you not just simply start with the testing the battery as a first step and why not read any error codes first off as well? I obviously had plenty of time earlier to get a new one. He said that he was just hired to juar replace the part??? Awful person and extremely incompetent as a so called professional. We took our truck in to have the Rear Main Seal replaced due to a minor leak. Other than that, the…read moretruck ran beautifully, and there were no other issues. Obviously, we drove the truck to the shop and almost a week later they called and said OK we're going to test drive the truck and should be good to go. Once we got there, they were saying why are you even here, nobody said the truck was done, but since you're here, let's go look at the truck. When they started it, a ton of white smoke filled up the shop and the outside of the building... the truck was making weird noises and misfiring like crazy. Ron told him that he needed to get the truck out of there and to pay him for the repair and we now have to get the truck TOWED out of there, and the truck is now our problem. This is not how they should do business! We had to pay the $1500.00 and then we had our truck towed so that the other repair shop can troubleshoot the new issue. We now have a quote of $10,614.88 to have the truck repaired. He found that the timing had jumped 4 teeth in cam gears and a lot of work is now needed. He stated that the only way this could happen is while driving it and something fails or if it was put back on incorrectly and/or rotated the engine in reverse (counter-clockwise) causing the tensioner to lose tension on the chain allowing the chain to "jump". The other way this can happen is if someone raced the heck out of the truck or drove it super hard to cause the chain to "jump". This truck is a supercharged V8 Tundra. Remember, we didn't even have the truck in our possession. It was in the shop the entire time this NEW issue occurred. The truck ran fine and drove just fine prior to having it at this shop. We should be able to leave the shop as it came in, at the very least, as the truck ran well and was able to drive it. Now we are stuck without our truck at another shop and is undrivable until fixed. We even had to pay the new shop another $666.98 to diagnose the new issue.
