Laine was able to remove ancient, sticky, bubbled old tinting -- without destroying the windshield defrost. He gave options and even offered to not charge anything to make sure it would come off (because it was so old). He was able to get it off and we can see again! Do not go here for windshield repair. I had my most recent third ding (from a rock on the freeway) done by safe light (I know corporate), but the results were night and day. The repairs I had done at auto trim left visible spider splintering and my recent repair done by safe light left none. I am a believer in supporting local, but I paid out of pocket for two prior repairs that I now know were just not up to snuff and are still highly visible on my windshield. The best experience I've ever had getting my windows tinted! This is the third car on which I have tinted the windows and I have never been shown this amount of service and attention before. Laine is such a great guy! He took the time to ensure that I was getting what I wanted, and made sense for me and my family. First of all, I've got to say that Laine is, hands down, one of the nicest guys that I have ever met in my life. He is absolutely honest and has my utmost respect. After meeting Laine, you will know that he treats his customers like friends and family. You will not get the impression that he is just strictly business. I got the rear half of my car tinted by Laine back in January 2013. It turned out great and still looks great 5 months later. He may not have the cheapest prices but he surely is one of the best in the area for what he does. Just had my BMW re-tinted by Laine. The old tint had been on the car for 12+ years, so it was a challenge removing it. Laine was very helpful during the process and provided his insight which helped me remove some of the old tint myself. I no longer live in Davis but I feel compelled to spread the good word on Auto Trim Design. Too often, we hand out 5 stars for excellent service but in this case, I believe Laine truly deserves it... even 10 stars if that were available. What probably sets my review apart from others is that I went to Laine in 2001. I don't remember if he was nice or honest or fast, but his work is absolutely top notch. I have a European car which is parked outside and exposed to sun all the time. Yet, the work remains spotless. Sometimes, I joke that the best part of my 13 year old car now is the tint. laine is the man. i was leaving town for a trip and he was able to squeeze me into his busy schedule. he did exactly what i wanted and didn't force me into choosing some product i didn't want or need. i choose laines shop for one reason - because he is a licensed 3m film installer. that means he installs the best product on the market with the best possible warranty. it also means if i leave the state and something defective occurs in the film i will be able to locate a 3m installer there and have the product replaced. that to me is huge. let me also state that 3m is a lifetime product to not turn blue or purple. if its a car you care about as much as i trust it in the hands of this man. he even moved his truck to provide me with a parking spot that i wouldnt receive door dings while waiting. another thumbs up. be ready to make an appointment - quality work takes patience and time. this is not a drive up and wait thirty minutes kinda place. i would suggest anyone take the time to use this mans services read more
