Came here to get my brakes checked and fluid flushed. I got done what they told me was wrong thinking the problem was fixed just for them to call me during closing that they didn't fix and it would be 800$ ‍. On top of that after getting my car back my check engine light was on and it was never like that before. Should have known they weren't legit seeing they look like a tire place. August 21, I took my daughter's car to Automaster because I had purchased a Groupon for an oil change. Before I purchased the Groupon, I called the shop to assure that all fluids were top. Customer service was friendly , knowledgeable, and professional. On day of service, it was a little busy, but wait time was less than a hour. The environment appeared cleansed spacious. I LOVE this particular shop. They've did work on my first car, and now my Subaru. My two rear tires were flat due to screws puncturing the tires. My Husband took the car initially to a place closer to pur home. They said a tire change wasn't necessary, just a "patch job". They were beyond wrong. Less than 1 week later, the tires were beyond damaged, and could have seriously damaged my car. Took it here - and they did it right. In addition, there are 2 of the sweetest office doggies here. I finally pulled over on 79th and Harlem to look for a nearby mechanic with good reviews. This place was the first one that popped up, and the reviews were good so I stopped in and dropped off my car for them to look at the next day (they were about to close). You will pay premium prices for the same tires that can be found on tirerack.com. way cheaper. Personally, I stopped in to get a slow leak fixed ($24.99) and an oil change special ($19.95). I was here last year maybe march...The owners daughter recommended I buy a battery because I needed one. I declined the purchase. Came back in for another oil change August & the battery was not mentioned. When I came in Dec I was told my battery was fine. 2 weeks later my battery was totally dead & I was stranded in the street in the middle of winter. Don't trust their battery test. I did mention it to them & of course they tried to turn it around that maybe I left my lights on...If I had left my lights on it would had started with a jump. So I needed tires and did some research and Goodyear had a rebate so I decided to go with them. After paying 900 plus for new tires they told me they could not align my tires, which was free, because I needed to have new struts. Of course they wanted to do that but I could not afford that after spending 900 plus dollars for new tires. They told me once I got the money or had it done to bring it back and they would do the alignment for free BECAUSE I spent 900 plus dollars. I'm a single mother and I found someone who would do it cheaper then what Goodyear wanted and so today I bring the car back for the alignment. Now they say they never said it was free. These guys are the best!! I have referred a ton of friends to them. For those of us who aren't mechanics and can so easily be taken advantage of by someone trying to sell us something "we need" finding an ethical service center is a godsend. They only fix what you need, will happily explain more than once, and have even said "you don't need this replaced now, but it is showing a little wear". They found several problems and gave me a huge estimate to get them fixed. I took it to Automasters to get a second opinion. What a difference! Many of the same problems, but the price and time to get repaired was much more reasonable. Mario also pointed out something the dealer didn't include in one component and showed me how that would be a problem later (and then a separate cost at the dealer).
