I called Automatic Appliance to adjust my oven after converting it from a natural gas to a propane source. Pete came in July to do the work on my GE Spectra oven/ stove unit. I was charged over $400. But sadly, the broiler was never properly regulated. The very first time I tried to use the broiler it didn't work. The flames were dangerously high. When I called to explain that the broiler was inoperable. I was told that I would have to pay more money for another service call! Don't make the same mistake I made. He was great at communicating when he would be arriving at my home, and he even called to notify me that he was running late. He could not fix the problem during the first visit, but he provided a quick fix that carried us through until the needed part arrived. I use my washer and dryer 3-4 times daily. I'd tried other services and were very disappointed, but Pete is the best and I'm sticking with him. I have a Samsung expensive HA washer. It was beginning to make some noise, so I called Pete for maintenance. My dryer was also beginning to "thump". He replaced some parts in my dryer, and checked out my washer - which amazingly was fine. He said if the dryer begins thumping again, there's another part that might need replacing, but it's working fine for now. He was late getting to me, but called ahead to let me know (thank you!). The cost was reasonable. He was good with my dog, maneuvered with the low ceiling in my basement and helped me understand what to look for in the future. You won't go wrong with this guy! read more

I called to get service for my dryer. Although they did come quickly the service person did not specify what parts he replaced. I know the belt was replaced. I was charged $350 which is ridiculous for a new belt. He was not there more than 15 mins. I will never use them again. 6/9/2021 I received a phone call from the company asking how they could fix things. I appreciated that. The service was great and they came when asked. I do think that the service person should be able to explain the price and how much it might be prior to starting and also once the job in completed. He was not able to explain what he did In the 15 mins he was at my house fixing my dryer, or how he got to the amount of $350 when I asked him. So, all in all I guess I was too harsh in my prior review. The prompt and successful repair was good. However, service people really need to have communication skills. I honestly was shocked at the price, as I hadn't expected this to be that much. read more

I had my (less than 5 year old) refrigerator warming on Saturday morning, I call Automatic Appliance Service, guy showed up same day did some diagnostics and said minor system leak and filled Freon gas and said pressure is holding and I am good for at least couple of years. Charged whopping $419 (not sure how many gallons of Freon a refrigerator take but charged that much money and it worked for 1 day (hold cold temp on Sunday) and started warming up again on Monday. I call him again explaining the situation and he said need to change compressor and estimates between $1195-1295.00. Considering the big amount, I wanted to go through appliance coverage on my home owner policy and they ask for the technician report for claim. This place charged me $25 to write 4 word report "compressor & system issue" which claims department couldn't even use. This is the last place in the world I call when I have any appliance repair next time. read more
