They were super clean and thoughtful in installation and we almost never knew they were here. When a minor issue occured with the new garage doors, they came right out in less than 24 hours to repair. They sent a text with a photo of the serviceman coming and were highly communicative. So Thursday one of our our garage door springs snapped and that was no fun let me tell you, at least no vehicles were in the garage. I had used Automatic garage doors in the past to have them install a new garage door opener when the one we had died on us, and was very happy with them then. So while looking at the snapped spring I saw the sticker on our door from Automatic garage doors, so I gave them a call and they were able to have someone come the next day. The technician gave me a call beforehand and was able to swap out the broken spring in no time and lubed up everything too and told me where to add lube from time to time to save possible further issues. Garage door opener went out first thing in the morning. No way to get cars out of the garage because the rope release wouldn't work (spring was broken). My garage door broke - it looked like the spring had broken (according to the internet). The internet was right for once maybe twice. Jeff came out and replaced the spring, it was about 18 years old, replaced the weather stripping because the mice ate some of it. He made everything work well and much quieter. The torsion cables on our garage door failed on Sunday evening. Travis was here promptly on Monday morning. I really appreciated Travis's honesty. He gave me two options, and explained very clearly that the option I ultimately went with was probably going to buy the garage door a few years, but that a replacement would be inevitable in the future since there were some minor structural issues with the door. To help me make my decision, he gave me what he very clearly described as "very rough ballpark" estimates to have the company replace both doors with something similar to what we have. I emailed their "contact us" webpage and very promptly was able to set up a time for a technician to come to my house for the repair. The technician, Karl, was very friendly and knowledgeable and was able to make the repair in less than a half an hour and even included lubricant/grease for the track to make the system run smoothly. Their technician Travis came out to do a repair. He was a very polite kind gentle human. While he was here I asked for some other quotes on door replacement and adding new garage door opener's. His knowledge in this area was very poor. I should have been referred to someone with more knowledgeable that would come out and give me detailed information about purchasing doors and garage opener's. That did not happen. He also was unaware that you cannot move a garage door opener that doesn't have the safety features to a different garage door, it's actually illegal in the state of Ohio. Something a garage door company should be well aware of. Nor was he aware that you cannot change a garage door opener that is on a single regular small size garage door to a very large taller double door. But he quoted me prices to do that anyhow. I found all this out from CLE DOOR COMPANY. So their was some miscommunication. I made an appointment for the owner Jeff Varney to come out to my house to go over things with me. He showed up more than a half an hour late ready for an argument. He appeared very aggressive, agitated, and unstable in my opinion. I do not recommend this garage door company. This was a horrific experience. I did not actually hire this company through Angi's List but rather got their number from a neighbor. The name of the company was the same as was the last name but the first name of who I was dealing with was Jim not Jeff. Jim came out and took a look while I was at work and quoted me 200.00 to fix which I thought was amazing at the time considering every other company was trying to sell me a whole new garage door for 2k. I told him to proceed with the repairs and that I would transfer the money through Venmo once complete and verified. Jim called again when the work was done and claimed he lost a 20.00 socket in my garage and was charging me 20.00 extra because it was too messy in their to find. That is absolutely not my problem if he dropped something and should be considered the cost of doing business. Jim saw the conditions inside the garage before he started and if it was something he did not want to mess with then he should have told me that from the start. My wife came home and took a video of the garage door which appeared to be closed and straight and just as I was about to transer the funds to Jim she open the door all the way up and went to close it and it got stuck and was all crooked again but worse then before the work was done. I have tried to call and text Jim every single day letting him know what happened and stating that if he came back out and fixed it properly for good I would be happy to pay him on the spot. Jim was not returned any of my phone calls or texts which is very odd because you would think he would want to get paid. Such behavior makes me think that he knew it was not going to stay fixed and was hoping I would pay him before I could verify the work and scam me for my money. Companies need to remember that reputation and how you treat your customers are way more important than skill or reasonable prices. The rule of thumb is for every negative review a company receives it will take 7 good reviews to undue the damage. I would strongly caution other people from using this company ever! read more

Travis was our tech and he arrived right in the agreed upon time window. It was a tricky repair (mainly because I tried to do it myself the day before-mistake!), but Travis figured it out no problem. First he id'd my problem, then came back to install the new board once Liftmaster sent me one (still under warrantee, thank goodness). Great company and service! I've used Automatic Garage door in the past when my (originally builder installed) garage door failed and they got me up and running quickly. Fast forward to approximately 4-5 years later and the motor my garage door opener completely died. I called up Automatic Garage Door and Jeff the owner confirmed that my units motor was dead and beyond repair. The following day (Saturday) Steve came out to install and set up my new state of the art LiftMaster opener with WIFI, motion detection and battery back up! Well worth the additional cost to be able to remotely see whether or not you inadvertently left the door open and the peace of mind that comes with knowing that if you DID leave it open, you can close it with your phone. These guys are excellent, priced right and their service is awesome. I'll definitely be using them again should the need arise. read more

Very poor service. Took a month to show up after service order was initiated and paid for. The job was a simple swicth out of a door opener unit. They have a rude female phone receptionist with zero customer relations skills. The installer that finally showed up was very young and polite but did not seem to be very competent. Within 45 minutes, Jeff had replaced both door cables (one had frayed) and replaced the track that had bent on the opposite side (due to the fray). The Garage Door (1 Year old) Never opened right in the first place. It sounded horrible from day 1 like we were killing something every time we opened or closed it. It shook like it was going to come apart and wouldn't open freely without the opener hooked up. Travis K did a fantastic job he knew exactly what he was doing. The door now opens so smoothly No jumping and screaming it's amazing rolls like butter. I even purchased an key code box which was installed that day and Travis K made sure I understood how it worked before he left. horrible customer service! Was supposed to have a tech come out today to measure a garage door we were ordering through Lowe's. We were told they were coming out between 12pm-2pm. I called at !:50 pm and was told it would be an additional 30 mins. My wife had already taken off 2 hours from work unpaid to wait. They had no mind to even call me to say what the ETA was. I called Lowe's, the person I spoke to said that pretty much everyone that buys garage doors from them has a nightmare experience with this installer. 4-6 weeks to have a door installed and on top of that zero communication from the installer. Not sure how they have a 4.8 rating before this review but it's truly not warranted. Lowe's also said that they are steering people away from buying garage doors at the store because of how bad these people are. They said they are locked into a contract with them unfortunately and wish they could use someone else. So if you're reading this please do yourself a favor and save the frustration of dealing with these people. Your time means nothing to them. Not sure why they have to come out and measure to begin with. Any idiot with a tape measure can measure their own garage door. Lowe's says they cannot order an installed garage door without these people measuring first and of course charging $35 to do so. What a joke!!!!!! read more
