When I contacted the company, they first said they would send another transmission. Later they changed the story and said they would refund my money, but only if I paid my mechanic again to remove the transmission so they could pick it up. I paid again for labor to remove it. When they came to pick it up, they suddenly claimed that a warranty seal was broken and refused to take the transmission back. To make matters worse, they left the transmission in the middle of the street in front of the repair shop where my car is currently disassembled. At this point I have spent over $6,000 and my vehicle is still not repaired. It is extremely frustrating because no customer pays this amount of money expecting to buy a problem instead of a working product. Because of this situation, I will be filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the Florida Attorney General, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Recently, in the past couple of years, I've been loyal to O'Reilly Auto Parts. Their stores are meticulously clean, well stocked and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. This morning, I had the 'Check Engine' light come on in my 2013 BMW. I was NOT happy about that, naturally. Plus, I'm in Melbourne for a reunion, I live near Tampa. So, I pulled into the closest O'Reilly to see if they'd run a diagnostic check for me. This service is FREE. I was immediately greeted by Anthony. The first thing he asked is "Did you just get gas?" Right then I knew he was in the know! I had just gotten gas the night before. Next he asked if my gas cap was on correctly. I answered "Yes". (Bad gas and a loose gas cap are the two MAIN reasons for an unexplained Check Engine Light usually). We walked out to my car, he hooked up his OBD(On Board Diagnostic) tester and quickly pulled up a trouble code and a description. Fortunately for me, it was a very minor issue that would likely resolve itself, would not damage the engine or affect driving and did not require any parts. (No good for O'Reilly!)
