It's great how they check the battery before for free and do a free installation if you do need a new one. It comes with a 3 year warranty as well. I never really thought of the warranty up until a few weeks ago. I was in Penn Hills and I was getting gas. I filled up my car and tried to start my car back up. It wouldn't start. I had to get it jumped. I didn't think I needed a new battery yet because it only has been a little over two years since I got a new one. I knew there was an Advance Auto nearby in Penn Hills so I stopped in there. They checked my battery and said there was a lot of corrosion on it. I wasn't getting enough juice to start my car they said. He looked up my information to see when I bought this battery from them and he said he couldn't find anything on me. He said I probably needed a new battery so he was going to ring me up $151 for a new one. I told him to hold off and let me go to the Advanced Auto in Murrysville because that's where I got it. So I drove to the one in Murrysville. I told him what happened and he couldn't believe that the Penn Hills store sent me there and that they didn't help me out. Max helped me out here and he was great. He did find me in the system and said I was covered under their 3 year warranty. The problem was that when he checked my battery it said it was in good shape. So he cleaned all of the corrosion around my battery and tested it again. He said that I should be fine but if I have more problems to come back to the Murrysville one. A little over a week later on Saturday morning I tried to start my car and it wouldn't start. That was the first time that I had trouble with it since I got the corrosion cleaned off. I jumped it and went back to the Murrysville store. I started telling them what had happened previously and then Max who helped me out before remembered me and told them what was up. They tested my battery and said since I keep having trouble they will just give me a new one. 10 minutes later I had a new battery that was covered under their warranty and I was on my way! I haven't had any trouble since. I would recommend the Murrysville Advance Auto to anybody. Thanks Max!

Asked the Advanced Auto Sales person if he could help. He shrugged his shoulders, gave me a dirty look, ruled his eyes and said "We are a retail store...can't help you. You have to go to an auto repair shop." Walked away from me. I sarcastically said "Thanks." He said, "No problem." Went to Advanced Auto in the same area, they were so nice and so helpful! They were busy & still took the time to come out & take a look and listen. They were so courteous. It meant a lot to me. The Advanced Auto guy was arrogant & rude. GO TO AUTO ZONE!

When we arrive at the shop we were early for the 4PM appointment. We went in only 5 minutes early to check in and drop off the truck. There were two people behind the counter and it took a few minutes for them to be free to talk to us. My sister told the lady she was there for her appointment. The lady asked her name. Couldn't find anything. Asked phone number, couldn't find anything... went through the computer nothing... kept looking and then asked what we were there for/what they were doing today for us. We told her we were there to get running boards installed on my dads truck. She said ok let me go see if we have them here... like ummmmmmm what?!? My sister called roughly a month-month and a half ahead of time to arrange everything. We waited and finally the lady came back and said that they did indeed have the boards but couldn't find a work order or special order. Nothing. I had a picture of the business card with what was being done and price for the boards and installation which my sister sent me. It was their card. Finally after what seemed like an eternity the lady found the barely completed paperwork for the order/work order/appointment and apparently whoever set up the order and appointment took the bare minimum of information and didn't enter any of it in the computer. Thank God I had a picture of the card with quoted price or Who knows what they would of tried to charge us. We were going to wait for the boards to be installed expect there is no where to actually wait inside the store. Let alone barely enough room to move around. They did manage to write down on the paperwork that we were "waiting" on it so that was one thing that was accounted for. We were told it would be about an hour to an hour and a half. We decided since there was no where to wait we would leave and come back. We came back a little early and waited in the lot till it was a few minutes after the hour and a half and when we went in they were occupied and we had to just hang out and keep ourselves occupied till we were told they were still working on it but it shouldn't be much longer. Mind you we are at less than 30 minutes till they closed. 30 minutes to close quickly turned to 20 and then to 15. 15 to 10, 10 to 5, 5 to close and still no truck . Sometime after 6 and us awkwardly standing around in a few different small spaces inside we finally got told the truck was done. I paid and we headed out. The running boards looked great. Job well done. It's been almost a month and they are doing good. We are happy overall with everything. There was good and bad so I want to be fair. They knew this prior to inspecting it and they still didn't do it. The day after the 'inspection' my battery stopped working and it needed towed. I called the store and they said it wasn't their problem. Horrible service! Progressive warned me not to go there but unfortunately, I did. The manager (I believe his name is Rob) even told me they can't keep staff- everyone is either quitting or calling off. That definitely makes sense as to why they don't have their act together. I will NEVER go to Pep Boys again and I will make sure to spread the word.

Before I get to the service here, let me speak of the amenities of the waiting area. This is where they blow the competition away. Nice, comfortable arm chairs to sit in, flat screen hanging on the wall to watch, and one of those Keurig machines if coffee is your thing. Of course there is a vending machine for your soda/bottled water needs. Here is where they differ from the competitors. Say you don't want to purchase a bottle of water from the machine and you have your own canister with you. Guess what, they have one of those nifty filtering water fountains that just happens to have the fill station for your canister. Water not your thing, then how about you sit at their recharging bar. Bring your laptop, tablet, cell phone in with you and sit at their chrome topped area and plug it in. USB enabled as well as traditional outlets. Now, let me dive into the service. Before just showing up I was diligent and made my appointment beforehand via their website. I showed up before my appointment at this establishment and still had to wait past the time I was scheduled for service on my car. Before I go into my rant let me just say this place is right next to a similar establishment. I came here because I didn't want to spend a ton of money on something simple and I know doesn't cost much. Well that was a fluke, even with the coupon I printed out online it came to twice as much I am use to paying. To finish up and get to the point here. I could have gone to the next door establishment, paid the same price I was charged here and gotten out within fifteen minutes. It literally took over an hour to do a simple oil change and there was no one there for an oil change at the time, just me.
