I was originally not going to post a review in lieu of simply not returning, but decided to because of the manager's propensity for passing false information and claiming that it's "policy". For example, I was buying brake shoes today and the manager told me that I had to provide my personal phone number in order to receive the warranty. I repeatedly stated that I am not comfortable giving my personal cell number out and offered to provide another phone number. I have shopped at Autozone for years and this has never been an issue. The manager, who says his name is "Bryce" insisted that I provide my personal cell number and that it was "against policy" to accept any other number. I know this to be a lie, ANY phone number will work for tracking purposes or to associate the purchase, especially if that number is connected to the individual making the purchase. Another issue occurred with the exact same manager some weeks ago: I asked about AC coolant for my car and was told that if I purchased the coolant, an associate would be able to help me use it on my vehicle. So, the next day, I showed up with my vehicle and purchased the coolant. After I bought it, the same manager refused to allow an associate to aid me with the coolant citing that it was "against policy". Until now, I had always gone to Autozone and they have always helped me; to be fair, they will not and can not DO the work for you, which is understandable, but they can/should certainly give advice and point you in the right direction. Evidently, that level of customer care no longer exists at Autozone, at least not at the one on Bienville in Ocean Springs. According to the manager, it's against policy to give advice to customers and if you don't give him your personal cell number you can't have a warranty on the products you buy there. . read more
