This spot had great reviews, so we decided to check it out. Honestly, the outside (and even the street) looked a little sketchy, but stepping inside was such a surprise--it felt almost like a speakeasy. The colorful décor gave the whole place a lively vibe. We didn't have a reservation, but since it was a Monday night, we were seated right away. As vegetarians who don't eat eggs or fish sauce, we were a little unsure about what we could order. When we asked, our waiter kindly brought out an entirely separate vegetarian menu, which was amazing. The spring rolls were absolutely delicious, but the massaman curry was a bit disappointing--it was watery and lacked flavor, though the portion size was generous. Overall, it was still a great experience, and I'd consider coming back to try other dishes.

Very cutely decorated, with staff that were friendly and fun! We felt like we were back in thailand with the atmosphere The main dish food was not bad, but missed the mark compared to other thai spots-- fried rice missing more of the "wok" flavor and pad see ew was sweeter and saucier than we are used to. thai iced tea and mango sticky rice were delicious!

Amazing Thai food. We had basil chicken+rice and I had Tom Yum and fried tofu. It got really chilly on our walk and we decided to come by this place to eat. The lady was so accommodating and explained the menu/food we wanted! Sweet surprise to be here and enjoy their food! It felt like we were in Thailand!

What a beautifully decorated restaurant, from the time you enter, through the stairs and the actual restaurant. The most enjoyable dish for me was the Papaya Salad. It was flavorful with hints of lime and just the perfect amount of fish sauce. The Crying Tiger Beef dish was also a winner. Pad Sew was delicious but lacked the smokey flavor I'm used to. Service was very good, great communication from start to finish.

We had a great experience at Auttarote and happy to have found our new go-to Thia restaurant. It's located in the heart of downtown in a building that looks like it should have a massage parlour on the top floor. However, it houses three interesting looking restaurants, including Auttarote. My first reaction to the decor was that it was a bit tacky. However, once you're there for a while, experiencing the great food and service, you'll realize that it's perfect. Food was delicious, with lots of gluten free options. We shared the Panang Curry, Chicken Satay, and Signature Crying Tiger beef, all delicious and gluten free. My wife also had the spring rolls, which she said were excellent. Service was gracious, attentive and professional. It also has a pretty good drink menu. Maybe my only criticism is that it's getting a bit tired, bathrooms especially could us a sprucing up. Nonetheless, we'll be back to try more wonderful food.

It doesn't look like it from the outside but once you step inside it's a colorful and vibrant atmosphere. It was a Wednesday evening so we didn't make a reservation, but we were able to be seated quite quickly. However, there were a lot of patrons dining. The staff were incredibly nice and attentive. We ordered the Pad See Ew with pork and the Penang curry with chicken. Everything came out pretty fresh and hot. The noodles had a sweetness to them, they weren't my favorite of all time, but they also weren't the worst and hardly any good pork. I really enjoyed the curry because it was full of fresh vegetables and lots of chicken. If you do want any rice for your curry, though it is an extra charge. The Thai tea presentation was fun but extremely sweet. Overall, it's a really fun spot, but it is quite pricey for Thai food!

Wide variety of traditional Thai dishes on their beautiful menu. The decorations and ambiance were the best of any restaurant we've ever been to. Wonderful, knowledgeable waitress gave great recommendations.

This place is magical. Right as you enter it feels funky, lively, mixed neon lights eclectic. The food was good, slightly on the spicey side for those who aren't used to chili like my friend. The service was authentic, warm friendly Thai welcoming style.

Stopped here for a quick solo bite for lunch. Devoured a plate of medium spice chicken Pad Thai. It was delicious, not too sweet, with the perfect spice and a citrus forward flavor. Noodles were of great consistency. The inside was very cool and decorated.

This was my first visit to Calgary and the only place we ate at since it was just a stop through but wow! What a little gem. A beautifully decorated space, with lovely staff. We were seated immediately, even though it was a busy Saturday night. We ordered the flower dumplings which are both beautiful and delicious! My friend and I both ordered pad see euw- hers with tofu, mine with chicken. Generous portions; I did notice mine didn't have any carrots though. The chili oil is very spicy, so a little goes a long way but it's very good. Midway through our meal they played music and did a traditional dance which was a nice touch.

we arrived at 8:30 pm on a thursday, climbing up a flight of stairs, and admiring the framed muay thai kickboxing photos along the way. at the top, we were greeted by a warm ambiance, complete with a tri fold partition with a collage of polaroid photos, ornate light fixtures, parasols, and colourful tasseled baskets. not gonna lie, hitting the gong for assistance was satisfying and added a playful touch. inside, the atmosphere felt festive, with streamers and banners overhead celebrating a happy birthday and bridal shower. the servers, dressed in beautiful traditional 'chut thai' attire, were incredibly sweet and attentive, further enhancing the charm of this place. after perusing the menu, we opted for the pad see ew with chicken, red curry with chicken and coconut rice. however, the pad see ew lacked sauce and the characteristic "wok hay" flavour, which adds a smokey and savoury taste. the red curry, though mildly spicy, was thinner than expected, missing the rich creaminess of coconut milk.

The food is absolutely amazing! The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is fun and inviting. Tonight, the Halloween decor was still out and all the waitstaff was in fun costumes. I brought a coworker here for the first time. She was quite pleased.

We were greeted by a group of bartenders (who all happened to be wearing toques) when we walked in, and I felt both welcomed and slightly out of place (no toque). The cocktails were meticulously crafted--priced at $15-20 a drink, it's on par with bigger cities like Vancouver and Toronto, but they also live up to the standard. Honestly, the highlight of our visit to Missy's was the Missy's This That charcuterie board. Each piece of cured meat was sliced impossibly thin, the olives were meaty and delicious, and the cheeses were carefully selected to complement everything. I loved that it also came with a side of thick cut bread and pickled vegetables. One of the best charcuterie boards I've had at a restaurant for sure. Not cheap but worth the pretty penny on a slightly fancy night out.
