Never coming here again! I ordered one Coffee Macron, one Chocolate Eclair, one tiny Croissant, and two of their fruit drinks. The menu at the front where the bakery items has no items that cost more than 10 Euro; everything was pretty much 5 Euros or less including tax. Guess what my total charge was... 43 EUROS! WHAT A RIP OFF! Also, my bill was hand written and completely illegible, so I did not know what I was being charged for. Totally should have checked Yelp and TripAdvisor before stepping into this place. This place has a history of overcharging their customers and ripping them off. How rude! 1 Star!

    Worth it? Not!

Just joined the "got scammed" club. This place needs to be stopped from ripping tourists off. Only reason why we tried it was it was listed in Airbnb's guide of places to eat close by. We order an omelette and a croissant and couple of coffees. They bring 2 croissants, couple of bottles of evian (which we didn't order), slices of toast which we assumed was part of the omelette. boy, were we wrong. I tell the guy, we didn't order the water so he says fine. I get suspicious since the couple of local ladies next to us didn't get bottled water by default. When the check came, it was $30 just for omelette, croissant and coffees. the coffees (regular coffee, not espresso or cappuccino) were a ridiculous 5.90 euro each. The toast we assumed was included was 6.50 euro, for toast for god's sake! Croissant was cold so gf asked for it to be warmed but the guy takes it away thinking we didn't want it - which was a blessing since he charged for one. This place just adds items like bottled water (like at least 5 euro each), extra croissant (2.90 euro) when you want just one, toast when you didn't order it to pad the check to crazy levels. Sure, this is a pricey area but this is moving into scam/rip off territory. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Spend your money at more honest establishments! Note: I see locals eating there so I think they pull off this BS on tourists only.

WHAT A RIP OFF! We visited here before we hit Louvre. 2 tiny small roles & 2 cups of Americano plus, 2 small bottles of Evian water we DID NOT ORDER. Price? Guess: Guess hard: Guess harder: Guess: Guess: Guess harder: Guess: Guess: Guess harder: Guess even harder: ++++++++++++++++++36 EUROS!+++++++++++++++ YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING~!!!!!!!!! My itemized bill for petit dejeuner for 4.

Just to confirm that nothing has changed, we had our most expensive breakfast of our trip at this restaurant in March 2013; and it should not have been. It was a 99 euro petit dejeuner for four. We went there our first morning in Paris while waiting for our hotel to be ready. Just as others have said they brought water that we didn't ask for and I can only imagine what I paid for our coffees. They didn't itemize the bill. I was shocked at the price, but as it was our first meal and we didn't have a feeling for what it should cost. Our next similar meal ran about $40 Euro. I wish I had checked Yelp. Avoid this restaurant!!!!!

    Drool!

I'm looking at the other yelp reviews and I am confused as to why this place has so little stars. Other yelpers are saying that the place over charged them, but I don't feel like that was the case at all. I think in comparison to what I have to pay in the states for desserts like the ones I got here, the prices were relatively similar. It was pricy, but I felt it was well worth the money. I do have to add that I did a carry out, so I'm not sure how much they charge you to eat at the store. I was happy I found this place and I loved their raspberry macaron the best!

Appalled ! Dishonest Owners Please beware and avoid this restaurant. Their pastries and cakes looked appealing from the outside but please do not be tricked into dining in. Whatever you see on the tags on display costs at least 3 times more when you dine in. We ordered a toast and the "friendly" waitress asked if we preferred fries or salad to go with it so we chose fries. It turned out we were charged €5.80 for the fries on top of the €9.80 for the ham and cheese toast! And the small bottle of still water was €5.50! 2 mini croissants and 1 Madeleine at €14.80! Latte at €8.50! Total bill was €81 for 4 of us and we were barely full. I should have read reviews before I entered. I thought they did that only to Asians but apparently it happens to everyone who dines in.

    Ripped off.

Ten euros for a milkshake?! You've got to be kidding. We also fell trap to this scam-cafe (but after reading through the reviews of others, I think we got away lightly!). We realised they were dodgy as soon as they said they didn't have tap water and then placed 2 bottles of mineral water in front of us when we'd specifically requested 1. Definitely returned the extra bottle (even though he'd opened it presumptuously) and didn't touch the bread / croissants placed innocently (NOT) on the table. Still came to a grand total of €42. Luckily living in London everything feels cheap in euros compared to the pound....

Excuse my Sandro bag but love this vanilla macaron!

This place does have some odd rules about prices being different when dining in vs. takeout.. However you have to factor in the fact that when you dine in you're paying for the service fees too. I've done take away here numerously since it's right by my hotel at the Westin. The chicken sandwich baguette was great along with the vanilla macaron. The macaron here was even better than Pierre Herme and Laduree in my opinion. If you do take away it's not a bad price point I spend about $14 euros vs 38 euros for dining in. In comparison to some of the other places I've been going to around Vendome area this was pretty good other than the Michelin recommended places which will really eat through your cash.

I hope lightning strikes this cafe.

There are a few locations of Terres de Café in Paris of differing sizes and this one in Batignolles has the perfect amount of seating and cozy atmosphere to read a book or meet with friends. On weekdays it's a nice and comfortable place to work on your laptop, provided you have your own hotspot (no WiFi here), and on weekends when computers are not allowed the ambiance is much more familial and lively. The coffee is high-quality and the employees are very knowledgeable about the beans and flavor profiles. I've enjoyed all the drinks I've had here, with my usual being a simple latte. They also sell coffee beans and Nespresso pods to go. The pastry selection is typically limited to banana bread, brownies, and cookies as they are much more focused on the coffee, but I found them to be really good anyway. The staff are friendly and make an effort to get to know their regular customers, and the café is very friendly to families and children especially on weekends. The café is conveniently located in Batignolles near plenty of other shops as well as the Mairie.

Pierre Hermé If you…read moreknow Pierre Hermé from social media and all the viral videos, then this review needs no introduction. But if you haven't, this is a strong contender for worthy macarons in Paris and at a convenient location across the street from Ladurée. Located inside L'Occitane in the most gorgeous floor space ever, you will find Pierre Hermé at the center of it all. They have an impressive array of flavors that were much more unique than other patisseries. I definitely asked for a few recommendations as well since I tend to order the same thing (pistachio, raspberry, lemon, etc.) The workers were very kind. They indulged my request to converse in French and corrected me in a respectful and endearing way (I know some people get upset at this idea but I personally prefer it.) I had ordered a dozen macarons but truthfully would've ordered the entire lot if I wasn't alone and especially if I wasn't already taking a ton of sweets back for my flight home. I am a Ladurée purist and what I can say is that Pierre Hermé definitely had the best and most unique flavors compared to the two. The prices are fairly comparable and the coffrets are just as tasteful. Both are strong contenders and worthy of your money. I certainly will be returning and look forward to trying the rest of their selection. (15/50--2025)

Pierre Hermé is home to some of the best macarons I've had in my life -- which is probably too many for the good of my health -- and I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the macarons, the staff's attention to detail, and all the unique flavors this shop had to offer. As a popular macaron shop in one of the hottest tourist destinations in Paris, this location is undeniably crowded. There's usually a huge line circling around a central display of macaron after macaron. The line looks pretty intimidating, but it moves quite quickly, and there are so many flavors that it'll probably be helpful to have a bit of extra time to review the menu. My friend and I split a pack of four macarons, including their seasonal isapahan (rose, lychee, raspberry), infiniment praliné pistache, and a jardin de cassandre (red currant, rhubarb). The macarons were delightful. I loved the two seasonal items; they were delightfully fruity and slightly floral, and I loved the slightly tangy flavor from the raspberry in the isapahan and rhubarb / currants in the jardin de cassandre. The praliné pistache was nice and nutty, and the inner cream offered a great additional richness. It's usually super crowded so seating tends to be quite limited. My friend and I ended up taking our macarons to go and enjoyed them elsewhere as we toured Champs Elysée.
