This studio is unprofessionally run. I missed a class after their cancelation period because my…read morechild became sick. They not only charged me for the class (which I understand), but also sent an invoice asking me to pay an additional $15 on top of the class fee because I missed the class. That would be like a hotel charging more money than the nightly fee if someone did not show up and use their room! I should also mention that I had only signed up about 6 hours before the class and there were still several spots available at that point, so no one was waiting to get into the class. When I asked about this extra $15 fee and informed them of my child's illness, I was told to pay the fee and that I should have read their policy. I then said they would lose me as a customer if they treated people this way, and they replied "sounds good". Not a professional interaction - I do not recommend this gym to anyone.

The classes are fine, but their business practices are amateur. I got a ten class gift certificate…read morefor Christmas last year and was thrilled! The aerial yoga class, the one I was interested in, is limited to five participants. Their online signup consistently said it was full, so I booked out two months in advance. One night I showed up without having signed up (not deliberately), and the instructor said it was usually fine because at least one person would no show (which makes me wonder how strictly they enforce their Draconian policies). They posted their next set of classes, and again they were shown as full. I sent a few emails complaining about the lack of availability. The person responding to email consistently said the computer signup had the most up to date information. She offered a few other classes, but I wasn't interested in hoop or pole classes. Then I learned that gift certificates had to be used within 90 days! She offered to extend it another two months, which still wouldn't have been enough. Eventually I found another school, and she was unwilling to give a refund of the two or three remaining classes. It would have been back to the person who gave me the gift certificate, not me, but I didn't see why they should get money for a service they couldn't deliver. This business is run by a bunch of women who like pole dancing and its variants, but who aren't motivated businesswomen.

This is my parents' go-to yoga studio in Victoria, and I make sure to visit at least 2-3 times…read morewhenever I'm home. The space is beautiful, and Crista and Tracey are two of the best yoga instructors I've ever had. The vibe here is amazing--welcoming, uplifting, and a great way to start or end your day. The staff and community are so kind, encouraging, and inclusive. I recently brought my boyfriend for his first-ever yoga class, and Tracey was incredibly patient and made him feel completely at ease. I can't recommend this studio enough--it's always a fantastic experience!

I didn't think I'd like yoga, but this place made me instantly fall in love with it, and have been doing it daily ever since! I have used Yoga lab my last two holiday season visits and the director Sheena was very friendly and helpful. All their instructors are great, Jonathan and Pilar are probably the two best instructors I've ever had, no exaggeration. Jonathan's humour brings a sense of lightness and joy, that I consider to be "en-lightened" - the future of spirituality is a more fun, and less serious age than that 2000 years. Pilar's classes are particularly spiritually fulfilling. Both can lead you into more advanced yoga poses without you even realizing it happened! I can't recommend them enough - both leave you feeling like you've grown in mind, body and soul after attending a class. My only critique would be (and it's actually for most yoga studios these last few years) is less music used in class. It can get in the way of listening to your inner self. Also, what people possibly don't consider, is the fact that not all art works for everybody. So it's inevitable if you use modern song in studio, that it will not vibrate for everyone, and maybe even cause someone to resonated with negative emotion.

I'm from the SF Bay Area, and I was visiting my family in Victoria for a week. I was doing research…read morefor places to practice while I was here, I stumbled upon this studio in Langford. A 5 min drive from my cousin's neighborhood. The studio is cute, I practiced here for 3 mornings. The front desk girly pops/instructors were so KIND. They let me use a mat rental on the house for two practices since I didn't have any smaller change, which was much appreciated. I like the "gentle heat" approaches, I didn't usually do heated classes in studios around San Francisco. I did The Roots, Flow + Restore, & a Mobility stretch class for practices. All the classes were easy to keep up with and exactly what I needed coming off the plane/traveling. My only issue was with another yogi feeling entitled in the class Like I got to class, put my mat down already, I'm trying to get in my zone but she wanna bother me to ask me to move my mat up more? Who are you??? Girl if u dont get to class before me and settle yourself. But anyway, as a barre girly, taking classes here after not practice yoga that much after 7 years straight, that encouraged me to come back into hot yoga. The feeling is addicting fr I just wish they had a one week new student deal as opposed to a month deal. Would come back here tho when I visit family again!!

I paid $200+ to learn this lesson so beware. The yoga lab make it real easy to sign up online but…read moreit is impossible to cancel there. And don't bother telling the front desk you are cancelling, that will do nothing for you. You MUST send "them" an email, and if you are lucky someone will find it in one of the three+ emails accounts it may have ended up in. Don't bother asking your bank to stop the automatic withdrawals from your account either. They can do nothing unless you get a new bank card with a new ccv number, as yoga lab set things up such that they can keep taking money out like it's their personal bank machine. What happened for me is in December 2022 I told them I was leaving. By March/April 2023 they were still taking monthly payments claiming they had no record of me wanting to cancel dispite my having told the staff at the desk. (Clearly messages cannot be passed along there) So when I discovered this I sent them the email they required and yet for months after they STILL withdrew from my account, claiming they couldn't find my email. It wasn't until I badgered them enough that someone went through the labs 3 email accounts and found my electronic request. The Yoga lab withdrew over $400 and gave me back only $200 asserting that because they had no record from when I declared I was leaving in Dec to the time I sent the March email that they didn't owe me anything more. Regardless of the fact they could look up my account and see I had not attend their studio in 6 months. Your word means nothing to them. Not particularly enlightened for a yoga studio. Also because I'm ranting and just FYI the staff will randomly touch or hold you in class regardless if you have given consent or not. Not horrible but I know I would rather not be touched by unknown people mid practice. Enjoy your free and unearned money yoga lab!
