The dog park is separated into three gated areas. The smaller dog area is ample size to accommodate at least 50 dogs and their owners. The larger dog area is also decent in size. Both areas have water stations and covered benches just in case you want to sit down and watch the dogs play. The third area is for agility testing or for dogs to run the obstacle course. I will say that the majority of the dogs that were in the large pen were very friendly and kind of minded their own business. My friend's dog did get scratched in the nose as she entered though, so her nose was bleeding a bit but nothing major. The pens also come equipped with a few dog ball tossers and other toys to keep the doggies moving as well as doggie doo bags. I did sense a bit of community here as well as there were a few posters of dogs that have passed on as well as dogs that were lost were posted and several people talked about the dogs that passed on as if they were their own. Overall, a nice place to just let your dogs run.

Brought my kids along as I usually do because they like to play with their dog and they got yelled at to stop running by the "president" I told them they are fine and ignored her. Then the lady screamed at my child calling him retarded for running. Needless to say there were some harsh words from me and another mother. They quickly posted new dog park rules after this making it more of an elderly park. Another time a mans dog had taken my dogs ball which I don't mind I let the dog play with it for a while but then my dog (a Doberman) was getting frustrated because he wanted his ball. So I went to try and get it from the dog we struggled for about 30 mins trying to retrieve the ball from the dog. All while the owner kept saying good girl and cheering his dog on in this game of take away. Oh I should also mention I was pregnant at the time. The dog stopped at the owner many times and he would just ignore me and let his dog keep the ball. This park seems to have a stigma against my Doberman even though it seems like he's the one being nipped at by people poodles If you go in the evening though at dusk you can usually avoid the rude elderly and you and your dog can actually enjoy it. This is just two times there has been many more incidences.

The cabins are all situated in a way that you don't really notice the other guests. The owners are great, very nice and respectful. The first time there, Lavon gave us a tour of all the cabins when we were scouting places for my boyfriend's sister's wedding. She ended up choosing a place on the peninsula but my boyfriend and I returned here shortly after the wedding because we liked it so much. On the return trip we met the other owner briefly, she saw us out for a walk with our dogs petted them and then we didn't see another soul again for the remainder of our stay. Staying here is like staying at a family member or friend's cabin. It's homey, comfortable and feels lived in. Each cabin has it's own unique decor and feel. They are clean but not hospital sterile. If you're looking for an on-call front desk and team of staff waiting on you, this isn't the place for you. If you want a place to marvel at your surroundings, breath in fresh air, and enjoy some piece and quite with your dogs, you won't find a place better than this.

I've been in a few times over the years for random small items like gloves or dry bags as well to…read morewindow shop bikes, but I finally had a bike tune up done here since I saw they participated in a ODT fundraiser, I purchased a tune up, that gets an extra star right there in support of trails! Sound bikes and Kayaks is a cool shop divided into 2 areas: Kayaks, dry bags, a few wetsuits then also both bikes and ebikes for sale (a few drool worthy e-mountain bikes too). Peter is usually the man in the front by the e bikes sales and he is knowledgeable about those bikes as well has tips where to get riding, swell dude. All the folks and owners working there have always been kind and helpful! They also have cool branded port angeles bike jerseys and sports clothing and of course carry many parts to get you going again if you need repairs, if they don't have it, they order it. I brought in a 'regular mountain bike' for my first tune up and they helped replace my disc brakes and rooters that were in sad shape. Now I am rolling again and I'm happy with the repair, so we will be back with more bikes as there are bikes for 2 seasons. Happy trails all. Spring tune up time.

A couple of quick heads-ups for fellow visitors: * ​If you don't have a State Park Pass, the entrance fee is $3. Make sure to bring cash, as the card machine was down during our visit. * Free parking is available, and there's a campground right nearby. * Definitely bring a hat, sunglasses, plenty of water, and solid walking shoes. The camp sites are quite large with lots of trees. Bathrooms and showers are nice. Maybe the pay function of the showers was broken when I visited, but showers were free. Came out to play on a Saturday and I have to say it is a pretty nice course (at least the 11 holes…read morewe played). Got through front 9 in about 2.5 hours but really started to slow on last couple holes. We made the turn and it turned excruciatingly slow as it took us 45 minutes to play just 2 holes (10 & 11). Had we stayed, it likely would have been well over 3 hours to finish the back 9. There was a tournament in front of us and we saw the marshall at least 3 times but there was absolutely no impact on the pace of play. It was a complete waste of $93!!! Played Sunland the day before ($69 for 18 holes and cart) and much better experience. Not as nice of a course as Dungeness but at least pace of play was manageable and was still a pretty nice course. We had a drink and snack in the bar (I think it was called Stymies) and we enjoyed ourselves. The appetizers were very good (wings and steamers) and my only advice is get extra bread with steamers as the clam broth was very, very good. Cold beer, good drinks and good view of both UofW football game and Ryder Cup golf. Stymies would actually get a much higher rating from our group but since this is a review of Dungeness GC and Stymies, the golf experience really dragged it down. Regretted paying so much and only playing 11 holes but the pace was absolutely one of the worst I've ever experienced.
