I'm all about making the best decisions with the information I have. And as a woman inevitably approaching that stage in my life, I wanted to know where I was at with fertility. Many of us spend the better part of our lives trying not to conceive, so the idea of trying to get pregnant can feel daunting. A friend had gone to Kindbody in LA, and like me, felt some stress about the ease of fertility. She did the "pulse assessment" that involved some blood work and an ultrasound. It's to give you an idea about where you stand with fertility, and your success rate based on a number of factors. I chose to do this too. And to be honest, it took me a few months to finally commit, but I'm happy I did. It started with a video call with Dr Lipkin. Her assistant, Katerina, messaged me on their platform (very easy to use), and even called 15min before the appt to make sure I had access to the appointment, etc. Dr Lipkin was very nice, answered all my questions, and helped me schedule an appointment to go for blood work and the ultrasound. Going to the Kindbody office in Flatiron was a pleasant experience. The office itself is really cute, kind of like a new age clinic. You don't see the doctor there, but they have a bloodwork technician and an ultrasound technician who you'll see. Bloodwork was easy, they did a great job. The ultrasound was painless, and as they do the ultrasound, they explain everything and show you as they do it. I even had a question related to a previous test, and the technician afterwards pulled up my file and answered all my questions. Really nice. About a week later, I had my follow up with Dr. Lipkin remotely. She went through all of my results and made me feel at ease. I also had some related (but unrelated) follow up questions for Dr Lipkin. It was really easy to message Dr. Lipkin via Katerina on their platform. Both my questions were answered within 30 minutes. Some reviews mention they were salsey and pushing IVF. I actually didn't find this to be true, this assessment cost me $99 out of pocket, and insurance covered the bloodwork and ultrasound. In fact, I actually found them to be considerate of cost and gave a thorough breakdown of what insurance covers. FYI they also have a men's fertility assessment! read more

An up date to my experience with Kindbody. They are still charging me for egg storage to eggs I frozen, transferred ownership of to someone else, then they refused to take possession & kindbody coming after me for the fees, and after all my written and phone contact over the years discharging the eggs they are still billing me. They owe me money yet are charging me for eggs I made clear years ago I don't want stored or to pay for as I did everything ever asked to remove them from my ownership. read more

This place is great to get an overview of your fertility to have all the info, knowledge and awareness of where you are at time-line wise. My husband and I had a pact of no kids before 10 years of marriage, well fast-forward almost 14 years and we wanted to be educated on our fertility situation so we can plan for potential next steps. All the staff is great and the process has been seamless so far. We were not sold fear, IVF or egg freezing at all. Just pure information. The doctor is really great and patient. I'm so confused by this experience considering I was recommended by a friend who had an incredible experience and spoke very highly about her journey here. I called to ask if my insurance was accepted on 1/19 (Thurs). The woman on the phone asked me to go to their portal and upload my insurance card and other documents. I did and sent a msg on their portal. No response. I called again Mon (1/23) and the woman who answered said someone would get back to me. No response. Next day, I msged again on their portal. No response. Thurs 1/26 I emailed navigator@kindbody.com and they responded saying someone would get in touch with me directly. No response. Now, maybe my insurance isn't accepted there, but couldn't that have been easily handled by communicating somehow? Fertility is a sensitive issue. Even if I now did hear back from them that my insurance was accepted, I wouldn't feel comfortable proceeding as this level of communication is dismal. Do better. read more

I got a deal on the Fertility Assessment and so only had to pay $150 instead of $300. During the assessment, they give you options for doing bloodwork so they can assess you thoroughly. I chose the full panel for around $94. Because I don't have insurance, I later received bills from the laboratory they use, which charges you for seven different assays, and the total came to $568.30. (And, actually, they accidentally forgot to draw my blood for the Chemiluminescent Assay and asked me to come back 8 days later. When I returned, they drew my blood for that, but then also charged me again for 2 of the assays they had already done. When the second bill arrived at my house and showed they'd done 2 of the assays again for a second time, not only was I peeved that they hadn't asked my permission to do that, but, of course, it also increased my bill by additional $165. The manager and I had a back and forth on the messaging system and via voicemail during which I felt she was being condescending, saying something along the lines of, "Sorry that you didn't understand that they were going to run 2 of the tests again." They claimed they redid the 2 tests because my levels for one of the tests from my initial visit had come out on a more extreme part of the range, but on that second visit they never asked me if they could test for those levels again or remotely insinuated that's what they would do. Then, suddenly, I get this fattened bill... Eventually, after some back and forth, the manager agreed that I wouldn't have to pay for those 2 tests again as she should have done.) Additionally, because my one hormone test was off, when I returned the second time, the nurse practitioner from my first visit basically said to me, "Hi, did you see your hormone level? We need to get you on medication immediately." I'd done research, which said that particular hormone could be off for a variety of reasons and that it didn't necessarily mean you need to be put on meds. When I told her my thoughts and tried to engage her in the possible variety of reasons for the test result, she just said, "No, no. We need to get you on medication. I don't want you walking around with a weird thyroid and having a miscarriage." But that's just it: you need to figure out IF I really do have a "weird" thyroid. And what are you talking about having a miscarriage for when I wasn't trying to get pregnant just yet. Little did they know, that I was simultaneously seeking two other medical opinions, and those other doctors were alarmed by the nurse practitioner's and my conversation. The other doctors told me how they would have gone about the situation differently, ie, they would have waited a few weeks and done the tests again, gone over my diet and to see how I'm getting my iodine intake and what those levels are, etc. All in all, stay away from this place. My Dr who for the like of me I can't remember his name was friendly and easy to talk to. He also explained everything in detail. My anesthesiologist CG was amazing. Not because she got me high, but because she was chill and made me feel like I was in good hands. Alice another nurse was super friendly. Everyone seemed very happy. It made the whole experience relaxing. And after the procedure I was given snacks. Why gold fish crackers seemed so amazing after? Idk? Maybe because I was still high lol. Kindbody is the worst place to use for egg freezing and embryo creation. You constantly get different people reaching out to you who ask the same questions, are unaware of your care journey, and give you different feedback. It is an extremely disappointing level of care for such an important journey. Everything is poorly done, but especially the customer teams and the doctors. I am actively telling friends to not use them because of how bad the experience is. Fertility is too important to take a chance with them - go to CCRM or another more reputable place to handle this. read more

I imagine you would be spending quite some time with them for what you're going there for, there's nothing worst than being stuck with a health provider especially for something so personal and intimate. I absolutely regret using KindBody to freeze my eggs. From the very beginning they have mismanaged my care. First, although I told the RN (you won't speak to a physician at any point, until you are put under for retrieval) that I believed I had PCOS because of a family history, she told me that I was incorrect because I had none of the "indicators." She didn't ask at all if I had lost weight or had laser hair removal (which I had). Because they failed to diagnose my PCOS, they overstimulated my ovaries and I had to do the egg retrieval early, which resulted in a much lower than expected yield. The overstimulation itself was very painful, and I had to go on medication. The Ob-Gyn now is shocked they did not catch my PCOS, because she says it is obvious from my vaginal ultrasound (you do vaginal ultrasounds and blood tests frequently leading up to and during the medication period so they can tweak your medications accordingly). I was devastated, because I didn't have an employer "benefit" for my fertility care - I paid it all with cash that I'd saved up. Once they have your eggs, they make you pay and extra $3000 if you want to name a beneficiary in the event of your death. This is odd because, ostensibly, these eggs are my property. The price of annual storage seemed reasonable, though, at $600 per year. I was always planning on long-term storage. Two years later, I receive an email from an unknown address asking me to enter my credit card information because the price of annual egg storage increased from $600 to $920. I assumed the email was spam, and alerted the company that I thought they had been the victim of a hack. As it turns out, they indeed are increasing the price by over 50 percent with no explanation. I am not shocked, but it truly confirms my experience that this is just an egg-freezing "mill" - they will treat you like a consumer not a patient. These billing practices are predatory and, in my view, violate state consumer protection laws. I would advise everyone to freeze their eggs, but do your research and please choose a clinic and a doctor that you can trust and will not extort you. Willada my nurse practitioner was incredible, very informative, very caring and allowed me to ask many questions. It was the first time ever I felt someone was an advocate for my biological journey and my health, no matter the outcome. I felt very safe and the entire experience was wonderful, from the check-in; to the session with Willada, to getting my blood drawn to the check out. Everyone was very genuine and made me feel like I was at the right place at the right time. Very impressed with the warmth of the layout / design of the space; from and hope that ALL women get to access this type of care at all stages of their reproductive health journey, and even regular OB checkups. As someone who designs and builds retail experiences for a living, it excites me to see a version of womens healthcare that is thoughtful and educational. I had a fertility assessment here several years ago and have been coming in annually for my GYN appointments ever since. Today I arrived to find that my appointment had been canceled by them. The reasoning is that they recently decided to only focus on fertility. That is fine if they're doing so well as to eliminate regular paps from their line up of services. Good for them. What I don't appreciate is the lack of notice. Doctor's appointments can be difficult to get on short notice. Apparently they attempted to call me on Friday to let me know that I should not show up on Monday. I feel that they should've let people know at least a week or two in advance, or completed the scheduled appointments for those who had them in May, give future appointments adequate cancellation notice, and then ended the service thereafter. It's called phasing out. As a healthcare professional I have referred Kindbody to numerous patients over the past several years. I will no longer recommend. Communication and respect of people's time matters. I hope you do better in the future. read more

I originally chose Kindbody because of the supposed transparency with pricing and the brand new offices designed with soothing colors that help you feel at ease. But all the tech money in the world can't buy them common sense and sensitivity training. The experience as a whole demonstrates exactly what is wrong with healthcare and especially when tech money gets involved in healthcare with so little thought as to the patient journey. I started my IVF journey with Kindbody NYC in Feb 2020 only to end it Nov 2022 in Kindbody Silicon Valley with a phone call from a random nurse telling me that my embryo didn't implant. After spending $20,600 out of pocket for services (and $5,500 on top for meds), it is shocking and even cruel that this is how they choose to close the loop. For all they pride themselves in being "transparent", every step of the journey involved another petty back and forth about getting charged for a phone consultation with the doctor or a quick follow up question that they insisted be set up as a consultation...even the pregnancy test wasn't covered with their implantation package! Here is just a portion of what I went through: They misquoted me 2x about a polyp removal procedure they recommended I do (whereby the variance went from $3,000 to $700) I was ill-advised by one of the doctors to do the PGT testing ($4,500) when I only had two embryos. I wish I would have been told that a feasible option for me was to implant both embryos and see if one of them takes rather than pay $4,500 to test, then pay another $4,400 to implant. Btw, they really stress the PGT testing and kind of make you feel like you are not doing all you can for your embryos if you don't test, even though the science is mixed. When I shipped my embryo from NYC to CA (which I paid $1,000 to an outside company to do), Kindbody tried to charge me a $250 fee to "accept" the embryo at their own facility When my transfer failed, I reached out to the office manager Alice to ask about having a phone call with the doctor to discuss what went wrong, next steps, etc...They wanted to charge me for a phone conversation with the doctor. Basically, they want to itemize every single visit so they can bill money to the insurance, but I was paying for everything out of pocket and it was so exhausting knowing that at every single next step, they were going to try and sneak in another charge. Overall, it was emotionally draining to go back and forth over these trivial matters. It absolutely distracted from my care and caused me extreme undue stress. If you're going to charge a price, then fine, I will pay but just for goodness sake just include all the common sense things that you would want as the patient in the package. While cycling, I need to focus on care. I would also caution, you will not reach your kindbody office or a knowledgeable person when you call in. I tried to discuss all these communication issues privately with this woman named India, who I think is their experience manager? She tried to tell me that different people have their different roles, etc...Which I totally get because I'm in healthcare and have run a healthcare practice before. But I tried to tell her that there is a gap in their knowledge and communication with one another and something is wrong in the execution of it all. All I know as the patient is that I don't feel taken care of and it feels they are running a corporation. She proceeded to circle back to what she said before about people having different roles, etc...basically she didn't know how to listen and I was getting nowhere trying to give feedback to a rock. My experience here felt so transactional, but I guess at the end of the day for Kindbody, I am just a transaction. Everything else about this experience has made a normally difficult and emotional journey a horrible one. I am doing my next round at a small doctor's office now. At this other office, I can always call in and reach a live person who knows about my case and they usually have answers for me. If they can't answer my question, they pass it on to the doctor at their noon meeting and they call or email me back. They don't push me to do a consultation with the doctor for no good reason. I've never had to go back and forth at the new office regarding pricing because they don't pile on petty charges, even the pregnancy test is included with this new office, what a luxury! I wanted to share my experience because I came in very hopeful at the beginning and gave them a lot of chances for redemption. It truly saddens me that I was sorely disappointed. For what it's worth, the care team at the Kindbody office once you are there are all very nice. I do truly believe the staff in the office try their best. But it's been proven to me time and again that this is a poorly run corporation and I would highly caution anyone I cared about to seek services here. read more

I went in for the fertility assessment and left with a broken IUD stuck inside of me. After being Instagram marketed for Kindbody, I signed up for the fertility assessment. When I arrived, the waiting room was full with at least 10-15 other women. I was quickly rushed into the "greeting" room, where Dr. Fahima Sasan (who is not a fertility doc btw, only an OBGYN) "educated me" condescendingly on fertility in 15 minutes. And by educated, I mean upsold me on the importance of purchasing a fertility package from Kindbody. I tried to ask questions, but she cut me off mid sentences and responded with feverish patronize. She sent me to an ultrasound, where they told me my IUD of 8 years was in the wrong place. Dr. Sasan said she could take it out. She took out the IUD, leaving part of it behind in my uterus somewhere. She asked me to sign some legal paper afterward, which should have been signed beforehand. I returned five days later, where for 15-20 minutes, Dr. Sasan *dug* into my cervix with that metal clamp thingy (forceps?). Anna, the kind lady running the sonogram, rubbed my arm to console me while I lay sobbing in the chair. Blood. Tears. Fear. Me trying to ask questions, and the doctor making me feel stupid and bad for asking questions. She did try one more time to upsell me on freezing eggs, though. Closing thoughts: Don't see Dr. Sasan (reminder, she is not a fertility specialist. She also has incredibly poor reviews elsewhere on the internet.) "Cheap price - pay twice." Go elsewhere if you can afford it. My broken IUD is still inside me, but I found another fertility specialist in the city who answered my questions with compassion. read more

I went to Kindbody with the intention of freezing my eggs. This is the information that will not be shared with you during your fertility assessment, I had to find this out on my own. I hope this saves someone else time and manages expectations. -It is HIGHLY likely that you will have to go through multiple cycles (at $6,500 per cycle which DOES NOT include the cost of blood work and medication.) -Medication runs between $3,000-$7,000 per cycle -No health insurance pays for fertility preservation (egg freezing) in the state of California (at least) - I did this research. Your insurance (whether they are a large payor or smaller) will likely only pay for blood work, and will NOT pay for medication, appointments, egg retrieval, or egg freezing. You will be out of pocket, no matter if you have health insurance or not, approximately $12,000 per cycle. The Kindbody website indicates which insurances are accepted, but do remember the above regarding what that means in terms of what they will be paying for. -The amount of eggs that can be retrieved in one cycle is dependent on how many follicles you have (you will find out this number during the ultrasound at your fertility assessment). The amount of eggs that will be retrieved will be less than the amount of follicles you have. The amount of eggs that can actually be frozen will be less than the amount of eggs retrieved. Hence, why you will need to go through multiple cycles to get a frozen egg count that could give you the probability of one live birth. I was told "you can expect 1 live birth from 10 eggs". -I am healthy, have never had health issues, have one helluva regular period, in my early 30s, have a family history of healthy "geriatric pregnancies" (grandmother, mother, sister...) and I was told given my totally NORMAL AMH and follicle count I could expect 4-7 eggs retrieved from one cycle, which means less than that would be "mature" enough to freeze. Hence, to reach "10 eggs for 1 live birth" I would be looking at $36,000 out of pocket. I had to put that together myself and then confirm that with my doctor, I wasn't told this. -Your personal Kindbody dashboard displays how many eggs they estimate can be retrieved. For me, like I said above, this number was between 4-7 eggs retrieved via the dashboard, but I was told by my doctor they thought this meant 4-7 eggs frozen. This is a HUGE discrepancy in terminology and I still don't know which is correct. -Note misleading, if not irresponsibly false information, from their pamphlet, pg 12, spelling errors are included: "What the "normal" # number follicles? Generally, we'd expect an individual under the age of 35 with normal AMH levels to retrieve a range of 10-20 eggs. But, keep in mind, there is no true "normal". Every individual is unique." This is ENTIRELY misleading and meant to appear like this could happen in one cycle. Although, I have normal AMH levels and everything else, to retrieve 10-20 eggs would take approx. 3-6 cycles at ~$36,000-$72,000 out of pocket. And even fewer of those eggs could be frozen, so maybe that would mean even more cycles? -Your initial consultation will be pamphlet-driven. I encourage you to read the whole pamphlet yourself when you get home, which is when you will realize there are more costs involved than those presented in your initial appointment. Somehow it is presented in the pamphlets that Kindbody is less expensive than the fertility clinic where you may go otherwise and I assure you, from personal experience at two large prestigious hospitals in Los Angeles, this is not the case. Remember, Kindbody is only marketing the cost of the egg retrieval cycle ($6,500) and not being super duper up front about the overall cost of the cycle (egg retrieval ~$12,000). -I was not told how important it is to have your fertility assessment on the right day during your period. Because of this, I went in whenever the first appointment was available which led to taking my blood at an "off" time of the month. I was told I would need to pay another $300 and come back in so they could repeat everything when they realized my AMH didn't align with my follicle count. Kindly, I did not have to end up repaying, but I only had bloodwork redone on the morning of exactly the third day of my cycle, which my Kindbody doctor noted was important. Ask about this when you are making your initial assessment because it was not mentioned anywhere. I felt like there was financial information hidden until pretty far along in the process, as well as retrieval/freezing expectations not being clearly introduced to me upfront at all. Which, made it feel very start-up/gimmicky/money grubbing. There is clearly a sales bent at Kindbody and it is designed to be softly misleading. I would rather Kindbody lead with "the average person needs to go through multiple cycles and here's why" and "this is ballpark how much the total process costs at Kindbody" instead of "you are a good candidate for this!" read more

In July 2019, I went into one of Kindbody's mobile fertility vans to get a free bloodwork assessment. I had been off of hormonal birth control for about a month, and my AMH came back at 0.58-very low, even for a 33 year old. I went back in and paid for a more complete work up. During this time I was told that I shouldn't bother trying to conceive on my own, and that I should move directly to IVF. When I said I wanted to keep trying for a few more months, I was told that the antral follicles they had counted that day "might not be there in a few months." It felt threatening and scary and overwhelming, and as I soon found out, I was being given incomplete medical advice. At no point did either of the two doctors I spoke with bring up testing my FSH and Estradiol levels, both of which are very necessary in understanding someone's currently fertility levels. They also certainly never mentioned to me that studies have shown that AMH has no bearing on natural conception, and in fact, the test to asses AMH was developed to work in tandem with IVF. The lower one's AMH, the less effective IVF often is--so Kindbody was also recommending an expensive, invasive process to me that very well might have been extremely ineffective for my particular medical situation. I was told they generally "skip past IUI" (a less invasive, less expensive procedure) and they also never brought up the simple fact of figuring out if I was ovulating regularly at all. I spoke to several Reproductive Endocrinologists after my experience at Kindbody, and they all agreed I had not been given complete information. As I write this, I am pregnant now. No IVF or medical intervention necessary. I would strongly advise women to do their own research before going to Kindbody, since clearly they have no interest in accurately informing their customers. (Because they are customers, not patients, and this is a money-making venture). read more

I visited Kindbody for my first fertility assessment and was immediately told that it would be near impossible to get pregnant naturally due to a low egg count. They recommended that I schedule several additional tests and plan for IVF in the next couple of months. I pushed back and said that I wanted to try to conceive naturally for a year before starting treatments. They pushed back again and said the longer I wait the less successful IVF will be. I felt scared and anxiety-ridden after my first visit. Was I making the right choice to try naturally? 6 months after the initial assessment, I am pregnant after going against Kindbody's fear tactics and advice. I could of spent tens of thousands of dollars on tests and treatments for no reason. Kindbody sells women infertility solutions even if you aren't considered infertile. It's very upsetting thinking they are taking advantage of women like this. Another issue I've had with Kindbody is that they keep charging my credit card without warning or a receipt. A month after my first appointment they charged me over $100 randomly with no receipt. I had to call and sort it out with Kindbody, they gave me a refund and apologized for the confusion. Now, 6 months after my first and only fertility assessment, I'm dealing with another Kindbody charge and no receipt. They are telling me they don't know what it's for and to reach out to my old insurance provider for details. They are also asking me to log into my Kindbody account to chat with a financial adviser in their online "portal" instead of providing a receipt through email so I can reach out to my old insurance company to sort this out for the second time. I shouldn't have to log into a 6 month old account to chat with someone online for a receipt when my credit card is charged. It feels like a complete scam and it is not a coincidence that these random charges have happened twice to me. I saw reviews with the exact same thing happening to other customers. Their entire business model is to "sell" infertility treatments and overcharge for services months after your visit. This is my experience and I wish I would of received this information before choosing Kindbody for my fertility assessment. read more

I've been visiting KindBody since last year, and can wholeheartedly say that the experience is unmatched. The aesthetic of the office is warm and inviting, and the front office staff is efficient, helpful, and kind. The doctors are intelligent and compassionate, and any feedback or test results are provided quickly and professionally. But above all of this, what truly sets them apart is the patient-first attitude in their staff. Last week, I made a last minute appointment to address a concern that had come up over the weekend. However, when I arrived at the office, we realized I'd accidentally made the appointment for the following month. Even though KindBody was busy and I technically didn't have an appointment that morning, the staff recognized that I was anxious and wanted to be seen, and made sure to get me in right away. Thank you so much to Shae at the front desk, who approached the situation with patience, kindness, and a reassuring attitude; and to Dr. Messenger, who took time out of her already busy schedule to squeeze me in for an appointment. I have a lot of choices when it comes to OBGYN. But it's because of the staff at KindBody that I will continue to choose them time and time again. read more

I'm a physician who can no longer recommend Kindbody, even after having referred friends for years who have also deferred family planning due to medical training. Kindbody increased my egg storage fees by 40% this year without notifying me other than sending a stark overdue payment notice weeks afterward. I was confused because my card is on file to autopay each year, which successfully went through the previous year. The fee increase was hundreds of dollars. Given that I have just completed 10 years of training and have medical school bills to pay off, this is not pocket change. If there is a fee increase, Kindbody needs to inform their patients beforehand. It has now been 2 months later and I have been passed on to multiple people in multiple departments, including Embryo Options. When calling the main number, half of the time I leave a message that is not returned. When I speak to a representative, my concerns are met with caring overpromise and extreme under-delivery of said promises. This is upsetting, especially because I had a great experience with the actual egg freezing prep/procedure and was appreciative to have egg freezing that was much less costly than the very well recognized IVF center at the hospital where I trained. If you are signing on with Kindbody, make sure to have a signed copy of all the fees and possible increases, and know that you will become a number in a file after your procedure concludes. read more

I've worked most of my career in/with tech start-ups. Kindbody is very much run like one. It's a sales-driven organization with slick marketing and lots of automated processes. While these attributes work fine in say, digital marketing - they don't quite work in a medical application. I'm going to echo a lot of the same issues I'm seeing in other reviews. Pleasant enough to deal with, and nicely decorated offices... but they're ALL OVER THE PLACE organizationally and focused salespeople. Here are just a few of the things that have turned us off: My wife had some tests done and the doctor launched straight into an IVF pitch before even asking my wife what SHE wanted to do. We had a follow-up call rescheduled on us with no warning or conversation. The rescheduled call was with a completely different doctor who hadn't met either of us. She was 8 minutes late. Didn't apologize. She asked me about my part of the analysis, confirming she hadn't even looked at my lab results before our call. read more

I've waited about a year to leave a review of Kindbody, after an upsetting/traumatizing experience using Kindbody last spring/summer for a fertility assessment and subsequent testing. When I went to a free Kindbody event in spring 2019, I went in looking to get a second opinion on a past diagnosis from my early 20's of infertility. (I had actually attempted to be an egg donor in my early 20s and was promptly told that I would instead likely need donor egg if I wanted to get pregnant.) I shared all of this medical history with my assigned Kindbody doctor, Dr. Seungdamrong. Dr. Seungdamrong was very polite and matter-of-fact. She took the time to answer any questions I had, but overall, I got the impression that she was a very busy doctor. This became even more apparent when I moved forward with testing for AMH and follicle count. When you start any testing through Kindbody, you create an account within an online portal where all of your test results are shared/saved. My biggest issue with Kindbody was that there is a serious disconnect between their online platform (where the test results are saved) and the communication between doctors and patients. My test results were released to my Portal automatically (which I of course checked, after getting an automated email to check them!) and was devastated to see that my results were very bad. I didn't know what to do. I felt like I had been delivered life-changing bad news through a little email notification...and all I wanted to do was speak to my Kindbody doctor ASAP and ask her what all of this meant. I wound up playing PHONE TAG with my Kindbody doctor for TWO DAYS to try to get her on the phone to explain my results to me. From my experience, Kindbody doctors are NOT made aware of their patients' test results in real-time (or if they are, maybe my doctor was just too busy to find the time to call me??) I wish DESPERATELY that Kindbody had delivered my test results to me in person, or at least over the phone, to help me process what they meant and answer my questions in real time. Those two days waiting to hear back from my doctor were pure hell. A follow-up appointment for follicle count (which I went to in their office with my husband) was the cherry on top of my bad Kindbody experience. We waited around for 45 minutes for my doctor to show up, perform the test, confirm more bad news, and then have her promptly turn around and ask us what we wanted to do next. I don't know, maybe give me some time to process this terrible load of bad news you gave me?! My overall impression of Kindbody: They lure women in with the promise of educating them (empowering them!) about their health & fertility, and then pivot HARD when the opportunity to make money off of subsequent egg freezing and IVF presents itself. My assessment of their service boils down to kind negligence. They have friendly and calming dispositions but if anything goes wrong they do not act swiftly or competently on behalf of their customers. I went through an egg freezing process at another NYC location that was not as friendly but I had no medical issues with them. With my 2nd round here, I had a terrible experience. The other frustrating aspect of dealing with them is communication. One person will tell you something in person at the office, another will tell you something on the phone, while another dr will tell you something via what's app AND there may be differing information in your portal. If I hadn't already gone through the process before, I'm sure I would have been more confused and frustrated than I already was! Things initially went smoothly but then I had a reaction to one of the drugs. After an injection of a new drug, the next morning I had rashes on both hands and one arm. I emailed one dr that didn't think it was a reaction to the medication (okay, that's the only thing that was new in the the last 24h). I gave the injection the next day again and after that the rash had spread to my neck and ears. I was due in at their office that day for my blood work so I asked a different dr in the office about the very itchy and uncomfortable rash that was spreading. She agreed that we'd switch the medication in case it was a negative reaction. This all was happening at the height of COVID-19 in NYC and I was not taking public transpo or taxis, I was biking everywhere. I specified to them that they needed to put in the prescription for the replacement drug right away so that the pharmacy could deliver it to me before the cutoff time. They said that they would. I went home and waited. The portal continued all day to show that I was to take the same prescription again that night! I reached out on whats app since the office didn't answer to ask why they hadn't changed the medicine? They'd been distracted with another case so she quickly put in the prescription to the pharmacy. Then in the middle of a huge rainstorm I had to bike 80 blocks and to the other side of Manhattan to get to the pharmacy before they closed and then bike home in the rain! On top of all of that all they'd said was to take a cortisone cream. There was very little interest in the rash and the discomfort it was causing me. Eventually one dr said I could take benadryl. They wanted me to take benadryl morning and night. I can't really function well on benadryl during the day so I could only take it at night but once it wore off, the rash was still itchy. I saw another dr at kindbody that said I should have been taking daytime benadryl! Okay, I left comforted until I searched for that and realized that wasn't a thing! Again I didn't know what to take since I didn't know what could be taken with all of the fertility drugs. My PCP didn't know anything about those drugs and what could cause interactions. Once I realized that they would just keep saying nice things to me while ignoring my medical needs and just trying to push off my issues hoping that they'd go away, I decided to seek out my own specialists. I went to an allergist and figured out independently that zyrtec seemed to clear up the itching. I went to my obgyn. I had to do everything that they should have been able to handle with other doctors. This was traumatic and it's ridiculous that a company I was paying would put such little effort into my care. And, they kept gaslighting me thorough this as well, later telling me that the rash was not related to the fertility drugs (not what the allergist I went to said and it eventually went away after all of the drugs were out of my system). After I sought care elsewhere they called to pretend like they cared about my condition and were prepared to actually help. They had numerous chances to do a decent job throughout all of this! Only one person on their team eventually said sorry. Go anywhere else, you want people that are competent doctors, not drs that just have kind words. read more

My GYNs kept leaving the practice I was going to so when I once again got that dreaded call I decided to give the new Gaea Center a try and I'm so glad I did. Very impressed by my experience. Was told to follow up with my GYN when I was in the ER last week so I made an appointment and got my annual exam out of the way and discussed my abdominal and pelvic pain with the Dr who definitely seemed very genuinely concerned and did not rush through my appointment or anything. They even made sure I got scheduled next day to see my primary as a follow up. Definitely would recommend anyone who can give them a try to do so. I will definitely stick with them even though it's a drive from our new home. Also love that it means even more of my medical records are all tied together now. read more

Oh my gosh! Like where has this facility? Been all my life ! Ok so let me say the staff are amazing they care so much. The practice is extremely inviting. Just did the ExEm Foam procedure and it's a lot less painful then the FemVue like 10x less discomfort. I really recommend this place 100% you get a team it's soooo amazing . I had a very positive experience here. The staff was helpful and kind, the environment is welcoming and facilities very clean. I felt at ease asking questions to any of the staff and felt like they each cared for me as a patient. I never felt rushed or uncomfortable. Update: I gave birth to a handsome baby boy in May 2022 this yr. Thanks to God, and thanks to the dr Aimee Seungdamrong and her amazing team. Even the nurses as well. The staff is pleasant and the business is clean and well kept. At age 49, I received my precious bundle of joy using donor eggs which I was skeptical off at first but I'm telling you, there is no difference in love for this child than using my own eggs. I am just so grateful to become a mom. The love for this child is indescribable. The moment I found out I was pregnant, I fell in love with him. My pregnancy went well with the exception of gestational diabetes around wk 28. Otherwise, best pregnancy experience ever!! I highly recommend KB! We've never had a bad experience there. On our first try lining didn't cooperate but on second try, everything went well and led us to our precious angel. I must give a shout out to Dr Jackie who prior to working with KB, recommend them and I'm grateful she did!! I never heard of KB but God has a way of allowing us to meet the right people to take us to his promise. We didn't have insurance but somehow, through loans and credit cards, we paid for the entire process and somehow by the skin of our teeth, paid off those debts before our son was born. The whole team is always happy to answer any questions I have and put my mind at ease. I've had 3 appointments at Kindbody now and my visits always feel so personal. I leave all my appointments with a full understanding of my reproductive health and the steps I need to take to continue a path to a happy body. I went in for an IUD today they noticed a cyst I've had for years that every other doctor has shrugged off. If left untreated it can cause major complications. I never knew going to the gynecologist could be anything other than uncomfortable and annoying. But honestly KindBodys office was SO nice I should start taking interior design tips from them. it's more like a salon than a doctors office. i couldn't believe how pleasant the patient room was. they had cubbies and hangers for my clothes! and wipes and pads for after the exam! My doctor was also lovely. she was sweet, helpful and very efficient. She even apologized for making me wait when at most doctors I would have expected that wait or even longer.
