Dr Rhee delivered my third child and I work in healthcare. So read my review through that lens. If it's your first and you're less comfortable around hospitals/doctors you may have a different experience. For me she was absolutely amazing. She's to the point but she was excellent at personalized care, caring a LOT about my specific risk factors and concerns. She's a boss and so may come across as rude. To me, that was exactly who I wanted in my corner. She treated me with such kindness and respect and even tenderness during my birth. Most importantly I trusted her so even though I'd had two unmedicated births already if she had told me I needed a c-section or an induction or whatever I would have trusted her that it was really necessary. She is always on time for appointments (and has a fantastic staff), responds quickly and thoroughly to any MyChart questions or test results, and has a wealth of knowledge. Right after my pelvic exam was finished (and Dr. Rhee did not make it clear that it was complete), Dr. Rhee opened the door and LEFT it open with my privates fully out and exposed to the practice hallway. I had very little time to react, sit up, or cover myself. She left the exam light hanging over me as well, so that added another difficulty in sitting up and collecting myself. The nurse in the room with us closed the door after she left, but it was much too late. In addition to this, I felt very rushed and unsafe to share the concerns that brought me to the gynecologist in the first place. Dr. Rhee did not explain anything that she was doing as she conducted her exams and could not explain anything about why my cramps have gotten worse in a way that is understandable to a patient. I felt zero compassion or care from this office and instead left with new medical trauma. Visiting the gynecologist is a vulnerable undertaking, and Dr. Rhee did not show any understanding towards that. I can only think about how a young woman visiting the gynecologist for the first time would feel if they had their private parts exposed to the rest of the office -- they might never trust a doctor again. Five Star Review on behalf of my wife and me. Dr. Anna Rhee (who speaks English, Español y 한국인 perfectly) is the most amazing doctor my wife and I have ever met. Trust me she's the best. We switched to her early in the pregnancy on a friend's recommendation, and at our very first visit she caught a condition our previous doctor missed -- prescribing medicine that kept my wife healthy throughout and going forward. The difference in care was night and day. Where our first OB-GYN tested for only 16-32 genetic factors, Dr. Rhee's testing covered hundreds. She gave us critical advice when necessary and great concepts to think about during and after our birth. When our baby threatened to arrive two and a half months early after a vacation, she guided my wife into rest mode immediately, and we made it safely to 39 weeks. The induced labor was magical. Dr. Rhee coordinated the overnight staff like a maestro conducting a symphony -- timing everything like clockwork. I'll never forget the delivery: she held our newborn's head with one hand, torso with the other, and with a pinky finger slipped the umbilical cord from around our baby's neck so smoothly my wife didn't even flinch. I started seeing Dr. Anna Rhee during my first pregnancy back in 2022, after almost two years of going through IVF. She was incredibly thoughtful, supportive, and knowledgeable--exactly what I needed for my first-time pregnancy journey. From preparing for delivery to answering all my concerns, she truly guided me every step of the way. On the day of labor, I felt completely confident in her care. She was professional, calm, and experienced--everything you'd want in an OB-GYN. I remember thinking, "I would definitely recommend her to anyone." One of the things I really appreciate is that she speaks both English and Korean. Since English is not my first language, it was so helpful and comforting when she explained important medical terms in Korean for me, while still clearly communicating in English with my husband. It made my entire experience much easier and more reassuring compared to other doctors I had seen before. I live in Astoria, Queens, so it's not the easiest commute to get to Dr. Rhee's office--but she is 100% worth the travel. Her care, experience, and kindness make the distance feel like nothing. Now, I'm pregnant with my second baby, and of course, I came back to Dr. Rhee without hesitation. I was a patient of Dr. Anne J Rhee OB from June 2024 until November 2024 at the Mount Sinai West Location. . First, I want to acknowledge the amazing nurses and secretary who were always kind and professional. Dr. Rhee came highly recommended-- known for successful VBAC deliveries. I had traumatic birth and I wanted a OB who was supportive of a VBAC. I was very excited to have found Dr. Rhee. Our first consultation was straightforward --questions were asked and answered. Her demeanor was appropriate though there were moments of a bit abruptness which I didn't pay that any mind to. I liked that she onboard with use of peanut ball & movements during labor! I liked how she communicated via Mychart. Subsequent prenatal appointments with her I noticed she became increasingly dismissive and abrupt. The visit that prompted me to transfer care was we discussed my Birth Preference and induction. I realized, I could no longer trust her to adhere my simple wish of minimal interventions. Afters serious consideration, I decided, to transfer care to another OB at 36 weeks and 3 days. On 11/ 20/ 24, my last visit with her, once it was offical that would be transferring care-- as I left she never bothered to wish me a safe delivery. This review is a little late as my son is now 18 months, but I couldn't not tell the world that Dr rhee is a BOSS! I couldn't have had a better delivery. It was exactly what I hoped for. She asked me what my birth plan was and I said "Pain Free" and that's what I got. I met Dr Rhee about 6 years ago when I was pregnant but unfortunately miscarried. I then had another miscarriage within the same year. Then it was nothing for 4 years. I was overjoyed to finally carry to full-term with Dr Rhee as my doctor. We share the same faith, so it was wonderful having a doctor who understood the miracle I was carrying. I was considering having a doula , but Dr Rhee assured me that she and her incredible Midwife, Leslie, would be there the whole time and not to waste our money lol. Some people find her honesty off-putting but I found her to be 1) funny and 2) refreshing. She was 10000% correct. Dr. Rhee is the best OB I have ever had. So glad I switched to Dr. Rhee when I was 28 weeks pregnant. My previous OB was not supportive of my birthing choice, so I found Dr. Rhee who is very reputable and open minded. She is extremely personable and to the point. Unprofessional: she did not bother to read my wife's radiology report until we are in her office when the report was sent to her almost 2 week ago.There was a finding on the report she was questioning and did not know exactly what it was. But she did not bother to check with the radiologist before we came to her office. 2. If you're looking for a VBAC friendly doctor, I strongly recommend Dr. Rhee. She really takes pride in helping women have a successful VBAC and is very informative. I was in labor ~17hours and we had a few bumps along the way considering I was stuck at 7cm and my baby was OP but Dr. Rhee always had different suggestions, put me in different positions and gave me the time I needed. I lost hope at one point because my baby didn't want to turn, but Dr. Rhee reassured me we still had time and the labor wasn't over yet. In the end, I was able to have a successful VBAC. I pushed my baby out even though he was OP and had no tears, yay! read more

I would highly recommend Dr. Rhee.  She is a very knowledgeable doctor with a lot of experience and provides excellent care.   She respects your wishes and will thoroughly explain things.  There are so many emotions I experienced as a first time Mom and I felt Dr. Rhee was there for me every step of the way. I wanted a doctor who could guide me through my risky pregnancy.  She has great judgement and my baby is here because of her.  Dr. Rhee is a great communicator. She is easy to get in touch with via message or phone and calls with results (blood tests, scans etc.) If I had questions as I was walking out of the door in her office, she would always listen and answer them.  If I had a question later on after an appointment, she always got back to me with an answer, explanation or advice.  I did not have many issues with the front desk and was able to easily schedule appointments.  I was pregnant and delivered during the pandemic.  Dr. Rhee stayed calm and focused. Calling all busy NYC women who demand top care and on-time appointments! If you're looking for a friendly, no-nonsense doctor, who is top in her field and isn't going to waste your time running behind with other patients due to unnecessary small talk- then Dr. Rhee is for you. She is a consummate professional who is geared with everything you need to know about women's health and the entire pregnancy and birthing process. I learned more about my own reproductive health and everything that was going to happen throughout my pregnancy in just one visit with her than I have at any of my annual visits. Initially, I was hell-bent on having a midwife who would get why I was planning for an unmedicated, natural birth. I was hypnobirthing. I felt a 'real doctor' would force their medical ways and not be sympathetic to the way I wanted my birth to unfold. I wanted a home birth with my doula and a midwife, but could not find anyone who would oversee my home birth due to my age. I was pleasantly surprised when Dr. Rhee said she loves doulas. Not only was she swift with all of my non-stop check ups (I am over 40 and have been to a doctor probably less than 20 times in my adult life- I HATE sitting in a waiting roon), she also dedicated one visit exclusively to my birth plan, so that we were on the same page. She didn't scoff when I said I planned on hypnobirthing, but did mentioned she would be there with meds if I needed them. I was also able to meet the other doctor on staff at one of my check-ups, so if she was on call when the time came, the day of my birth would not be the first time I met her. She was also on time and, though a little more chatty, very professional. Ironically, when the day came, the midwife on staff was on-call and, at the time, I was thrilled because I knew she would let me labor as long as I needed without any medications. However, due to an onset of pregnancy related claustrophobia, after 27 hours of beautiful, unmedicated labor, and a change of shifts, where Dr. Rhee was on call, I most urgently needed an unscheduled midnight cesarean. I was so lucky to have an experienced, top surgeon available for my very difficult surgery. I had labored 27 hours in a room that seemed very comfortable and then was suddenly the smallest room I have been 'trapped in' in my entire life. My baby's life was in danger as my vitals went off the chart with my panic attack. She handled my panic systematically, never making me feel like I was "crazy", allowing me to have my labor room door open, and consulting quickly with the other top doctors on staff. The surgery was swift and successful. I was even able to have the 'skin to skin contact' immediately after birth that we had discussed in my birth plan. My placenta was saved to be encapsulated and Dr. Rhee made sure that, even though a private room was not available (we were on the waitlist) that I went to an 'isolation room' with my partner, so that we could be alone and that I could be less claustrophobic. I was moved the next morning to a private room when it became available, which helped quite a bit, but I was still suffering very badly. Even though I was able to stay longer because of the birth being a surgery, Dr. Rhee knew that I desperately needed to leave the hospital because I felt trapped, not being able to go outside. She made certain to come to the hosptial outside her hospital hours to see me so I could be cleared early to leave. The best joy of my life was bringing a child into this world. The second best joy (at the time) was being able to run out of the elevator and building on to the non-claustrophobic sidewalk and breathe in the dirty city air again. Dr. Rhee even followed up with my on her day off to make certain I was feeling good and recovering well. She did a great job with the surgery and, after just 8 weeks, my scar is almost already completely healed. I expect it will soon be a very small line that will serve as a reminder of an incredible experience with an incredible doctor. read more

Dr. Rhee is knowledgable, responsible and kind. Dr Rhee always takes the best care of her patients. I had some complication during my first birth and she visited me in the hospital every morning around 6am to check on me. During my first miscarriage, she checked thoroughly to make sure that nothing was left in my uterus. My friend had miscarriage around the same time and her doctor didn't check on her himself but let the nurse did it. She had a tissue left in her uterus and she had abdominal pain for months. Dr Rhee always responds to my questions within couple of days, even during weekends. One time I forgot to schedule my appointment in time and she was fully booked. She squeezed an appointment very early in the morning before her official office hour started. When I needed to have my blood drawn but the nurses were too busy, she just did herself. I just had my first child with Dr. Rhee, and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to have her as my doctor throughout my pregnancy. It was a long 24hour delivery, and I heard stories of people being c-sectioned because they 'ran out of time,' but no such things happened with Dr. Anna Rhee. She was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and did everything in her power to make vaginal birth possible (and she did)! She's a really committed and dedicated professional, which is so rare to see these days. Office visits usually did not last long, but that wasn't a problem since you can find most information on Google anyway. I just had to verify such acquired information with her, and she always responded to my messages on a timely manner. If you think she's being too strict when talking to you (which I read on some 1-star reviews), you can think of her as a mother-figure who just wants the best for you. My first pregnancy, I was clueless and for starters I probably spent hours looking up OBGYNs. I don't know how I found Dr Rhee, probably through Yelp, and I am VERY happy I did. The first appointment I had with Dr Rhee, she had answers to all of my questions, from diet restrictions to genetic tests. On top of that, she gave me handouts and a schedule of important weeks/appointments. That was extremely helpful because to be honest, I still don't know what I need to do at what week. For all of the subsequent appointments I had with her, the wait was always max 15min, and that was somehow contributed to me showing up 5 or 10min late for the appointments thanks to New York's ridiculous subway delays. Dr Rhee is punctual, organized, but jokes sometimes. When I complained about my lower back pain, she also recommended some acupuncturist, which I haven't tried yet. She is kind of strict on weight gains, one of the months I gained too much, so she made sure I eat more proteins and cut those sweets... Front desk people are always friendly and nice, appointments are easy to make. On top of that they have MyChart, you can check test results online, or for non-emergency questions, send Dr Rhee a quick message online, and she ALWAYS responds. I can't say anything about the actual childbirth experience, the baby will be delivered at Mount Sinai West hospital, and depending who's on call on that day, it may or may not be Dr Rhee herself. But that's just how the system works. They will go over details as I get closer to due dates. I'm over half way through my pregnancy and I cannot think of anything bad to say about this place. read more

I just delivered my son with Dr. Rhee and cannot recommend her enough. She is an amazing doctor -- intelligent, compassionate, and a clear/direct communicator. Not only did Dr. Rhee deliver both a healthy Mom and healthy baby, and a much desired vaginal birth... but working with her also helped heal me from a traumatic birthing experience I had had with my first son... which had been with a different provider/hospital and ended in an emergency c-section. Finding a doctor who is willing to attempt a VBAC / TOLAC (vaginal birth after caesarean) is difficult enough, but Dr. Rhee both believed in my ability to birth naturally throughout the entire pregnancy, and right up through labor. At the same time, I knew she would never risk mine or my baby's health for a preferred delivery method... and I felt safe knowing that if I did have to have another c-section, Dr. Rhee would be the doctor to do it. Throughout the pregnancy she provided comprehensive care-- never pushing tons of tests, but always willing to talk through each decision without judgement. (Not to mention her office is probably the only timely / punctual doctors office I've ever been to!) She treats each of her patients as individuals, which is rare nowadays. She combines this with her decades of experience to provide top tier, responsive prenatal care. I always felt safe, secure, informed and empowered by Dr. Rhee. When my due date came and went, I had become anxious around the impending delivery. Dr. Rhee was patient with me (even allowed me to postpone my induction by 4 days) and when it came time to deliver, she helped give me one of the most amazing days of my life. On delivery day, Dr. Rhee and her staff were with me every step of the way. It wasn't an easy labor, but Dr. Rhee did everything in her power to give me a successful VBAC and make sure I felt empowered and comfortable. I labored for 12.5 hours (which is not long - but 10.5 of those laborious hours were in the hospital). Rhee was abrupt rude to my nurses. condemning them for their stupidity and mine. She told my husband I was stupid to not get a c-section. She also told him I did not know what I was doing. She constantly rejecting my desire for natural labor and delivery by trying to pressure me to anything and everything! Which I had created a document weeks prior so their would be no argument as to what I wanted. Just so you know Rhee, you may have gone to school for however many years, but I am the one pushing the baby out of my vagina. Baby was delivered with cord around his neck but it was removed promptly and he was perfect! No c-section needed. She is the rudest OBGYN in Manhattan. Although I met other rude ones at Columbia too. I have 2 friends who are nurses and they say she is basically the worst to work under because of how condescending she is and overall just a jerk to them (and in front of patients too). You know what they say if you want a good doctor as the nurses! Who needs that kind of behavior in a room where you are pushing out a baby! Also, I will have you know my nurses were AMAZING. Basically, if she wasn't in the practice and it was just Bradley, Shulina, Nabizeda, and Sarah, they would be making it. read more

I realized late into my second pregnancy that not all OB's support TOLAC/VBAC, which did not sync with my goal of natural childbirth. Feeling overwhelmed and frustrated, I got a rec through a birthing center and contacted Dr. Rhee. I was a good candidate, and Dr. Rhee accepted me as a patient with very transparent methods from day 1. I felt I could trust Dr. Rhee, and she was a positive force on my side. She coached me during our prenatal appointments, reassured me that my body could give birth, encouraged lifestyle modification, and cheered me on. She can be straightforward but also has a great sense of humor. Her midwife is also someone you'd want by your side, incredibly warm and supportive during some uncomfortable moments. Dr Rhee was my OB doctor throughout my pregnancy with my daughter who was born in February. This was my first pregnancy. Dr Rhee was professional, efficient and knowledgeable and I felt very safe in her care. She was diligent and responsive to all my questions (which were many). Mount Sinai uses a portal where patients can submit medical questions and Dr Rhee was quick to respond and addressed all my questions. Well today me and my spouse met Dr.Rhee and she was very polite, nice staff and clean office. One concern I did have was her persistence for an epidural shot and when I started to ask questions she basically told us it was best that if we went else where. At that moment I felt like it was either do exactly what she says with out asking questions and or go somewhere else and that's exactly what we did. At every moment, Dr. Rhee balanced my health, the baby's health and my understanding of the choices in front of me, along with her own recommendations. I always was made aware of the pros and cons of every decision. She took seriously my preferences for a vaginal birth even when labor was progressing in not the most straightforward way, and ultimately the baby was delivered safely and without a C-section, when I believe another provider may have made a different decision or suggestion. After the baby was born, Dr. Rhee even came to visit us in the hospital on her day to be in her office. She is competent, confident, and makes decisions with everyone's best results in mind. My experience with Dr Rhee was excellent. I cannot say enough good things about her. She was my OB and supported me through two miscarriages and finally a successful birth of my happy and healthy son. Throughout the two years we spent together, she was very clear and explained what was going on with each pregnancy so my husband and I could understand. She referred us to excellent doctors when we had to go see specialists as well as our pediatrician. During my delivery, she controlled the room and kept the experience very calm despite the fact we had to rush to get my son out which reassured me that my baby and I would be OK. She made me feel like I was her number one priority during my pregnancy and delivery and checked in on me very early in the morning the day after my delivery which surprised me and made me feel so well cared for. Dr. Rhee may not be for everyone: most appointments with her are short, she has a dry sense of humor, and she doesn't sugar-coat anything. If you need to be babied to have a baby, maybe choose another doctor. However, if you want someone with a ton of experience who really knows what she's doing, is dedicated to her patients when it matters most, and works tirelessly to try to honor your wishes, Dr. Rhee is your woman. For me, as a fretful first-time mom-to-be, Dr. Rhee was perfect. She intuitively grasped that I was spending too much time freaking myself out on Google and told me to stop searching symptoms online and just e-mail her if I had any questions, and she was good about responding (I found this made up for short office visits, which I appreciated because it meant I was actually seen on time). She was familiar with a (fairly rare) condition I have and had good advice on how to manage it during pregnancy, did a good job of explaining procedures and the reasons for them, and was generally chill and confident about everything. I was hoping to have a hippie birthing center birth, but my water broke early and I ended up having more or less the opposite. Dr. Rhee attended and was so professional and reassuring, even when things got really scary with the baby's heartbeat dropping at the end. She acted quickly and confidently and still managed to get the baby out vaginally using forceps. My doula, who has attended over one hundred births, said that pretty much any other doctor would have given me a C-section without thinking twice, but Dr. Rhee is especially committed to only resorting to C-sections when they're absolutely medically necessary. My experience with Dr. Rhee and her whole practice (and really, everyone at Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum at Mt. Sinai West) was pretty amazing. I would definitely recommend her to friends, and hope to see her again for my next child. read more

Anna Rhee has been my wife's ob/gyn for our 2nd and 3rd boys and it has been a wonderful experience. We initially selected her because she delivers at the Mt. Sinai West birthing center, though we ended up in L&D for both deliveries. For the 3rd pregnancy, she was particularly helpful, being flexible for appointments (as my wife wasn't able to be at as many appointments with 2 boys ages 3 and 1), and her experience helped during the delivery as she was able to walk my wife through delivering the baby face up and how it would be different from her first two deliveries. I can't say whether she's the best, but the staff at Mt. Sinai West all say so! read more

Anna Rhee is the best doctor ever. It is my first time ever leaving a review. Dr. Rhee is an Angel put on my life. Before I met Dr.Rhee I had 4 miscarriage. I was so tired to have a miscarriage that I decided that I would be my on doctor. When I saw Dr. Rhee for the first time , I was 9 weeks pregnant on my 4th pregnancy. Unfortunately she said I wouldn't hold it, but she said I promise you it will be the last time you will have a miscarriage. When she said that I didn't believe. She make me to do all thse exams that I was tried to do. But she was constantly calling me to tell about my exams. While doing all this exam. I discovered I was pregnant. This Dr. Went above and beyond. And today I have two beautiful daughters. Thanks my Angel dr. Rhee. I. Also have to say that my second pregnancy I had a car accident on my 9 months . Dr. Rhee was at her daughter wedding. However, she gave me all support constantly checking on me. Because of the accident I end up have the baby 2 weeks early. Dr Rhee was off. When I hear it was so tired. 30 minutes late who enter in my room ready to deliver my second baby. Dr. Rhee. Tank you very much for everything you did for me. Anna Rhee delivered my wife and I's first baby last week. From start to finish it was an amazing process. Anna and the entire Mt Sinai west team did an unbelievable job. Anna is open and honest throughout the process. She makes herself available any day / any time. I really can't say enough how great she was. We met all doctors in the practice and they were all so nice and welcoming. On the day we went into labor Anna met us at the hospital right when we were admitted. She was hands on from the beginning to the end. She held our hand throughout the process and make sure we were informed and relaxed. She was supportive of my wife the entire process and made her feel comfortable and supported. She was extremely sweet but in control throughout the delivery. The entire process was so special and I give her and the process a 20 out of 10. We will definitely have our next baby with Anna. I couldn't say anything better about her and the way she runs the practice / process. The Mt Sinai process / nurses at Mt. Sinai were all so great also. Some special nurses I wanted to call out were Michelle McDermott (labor and delivery) and Kathleen (in the birthing center). Overall amazing experience. read more

Just gave birth to a perfect baby boy thanks to Dr Rhee. I'm not usually one to write Yelp reviews, but I thought that sharing my experience of prenatal care and delivery could help other expecting mothers, since choosing an ob-gyn is a bit more complicated than looking up restaurants based on number of stars. Here's what you can expect from Dr Rhee: - Lays out the pros/cons, then also tells you her opinion/philosophy, and she certainly has them. Obviously all decisions are made by the patient, but I think it's important to get an expert opinion and also know what the doctor will do in emergency situations. - Some surprising strict/relaxed approaches she had include: relaxed about me not being able to stomach multivitamins during my first trimester morning sickness period (just required that I take folic acid); relaxed about diet during first trimester (she told me to "eat anything I feel like eating"); relaxed about me taking any short trips (even at late first trimester) but extremely against a long-haul flight I contemplated taking in third trimester (which I did not); much more strict about diet when third trimester rolled around (she called it that I was on track to have a very big baby). - Not a lot of chatty small talk, but still friendly and personable. I don't feel the need to exchange a bunch of niceties with my doctor; I prefer direct and business-like. Some doctors try to crack awkward jokes, which actually makes me feel more awkward trying to bring up my medical questions in that space. - Lays out what you can expect in the upcoming weeks of pregnancy in digestible doses. In addition to questions you have during regular check-up sessions, Dr Rhee anticipates what kind of questions come up at what stage of the pregnancy and will have "talks" with you to go over them at the right time. She schedules more time for those appointments. - No scheduling mix-ups. Appointments have never been cancelled. That happens surprisingly often at other doctors' offices. Sometimes you end up waiting a while for your appointment, but I never had a "this is ridiculous" kind of waiting situation. - Practice includes three other female doctors and a midwife, any of whom might end up delivering your baby at the hospital if Dr Rhee happens to not be available. At first I thought this would be weird, but you meet them in one-on-one sessions with each during your prenatal appointments. They are all very nice and knowledgable. I should add that in my case, Dr Rhee was able to personally deliver my baby. I saw her almost every day during my 5 days in the hospital (2 days for induction and c-section, 3 days for postpartum recovery). That amazed me -- during my prenatal appointments, I assumed she was always at the office because I never had trouble scheduling check-ups within a range of time that worked for me. Lastly, I know that Dr Rhee is a huge proponent for vaginal birth and that VBACs are one of her fortes. So when Dr Rhee called for c-section after 30+ hours of induction with little progress, I knew it was because that was the best choice for the baby. Now I'm home with a very healthy baby and our family couldn't be more grateful. read more

If I could give negative stars I would! I went to see Dr. Rhee for the 1st time on 02.06.13 after moving into the city from Chicago. I did read some of the reviews on yelp, but I figured that a few bad reviews doesn't mean that I couldn't have a positive appointment, but I was VERY wrong. In the past I have had abnormal pap's and I communicated this to Dr. Rhee during my appointment. I also made her aware that I had to have a procedure performed last year due to an abnormal annual and she agreed to contact me no matter what the results were to ease my mind. During my appointment I found it odd that she didn't perform the annual exam in the same way that every other Dr. I've ever gone to had. On 03.07.13 I received an e-mail from the practice manager with the following title: RE: LAb result from Dr.Rhee I thought originally that this was just spam mail because of the Cap's. However something told me to open it anyway. I did and this is what I found: Good Afternoon, Dr.Rhee tried to contact you yesterday to inform you about lab result. The pop is negative which means that lab couldn't performed HPV testing because there was insufficient amount of cells. Please kindly contact our office to schedule GYN follow up with Dr.Rhee. I have a few issues with this: 1. Shouldn't the name of the most common procedure at an OBGYN office be spelled properly? 2. Grammar is terrible / unprofessional 3. I was never contacted by my Dr. or her office (ie: no VM was left) 4. There was no number listed to contact the office in this email or in the signature line of the practice manager. I did write back and requested to have Dr. Rhee call me. She did the following day and said that my results were misplaced for 2 weeks and that my annual was fine, just that they didn't take enough of a sample to complete the HPV testing (ie: she didn't perform the procedure to have a sample to send to the lab, but they surely billed my insurance company anyway). She also said that the practice manager isn't a trained medical professional so she wouldn't know medical terms or how to spell procedures (are you kidding me?!?!). Needless to say I've found a different Dr. at this point who had to re-do my annual appointment. Thankfully she did because everything was not fine as Dr. Rhee mentioned. read more
