This is the second time that person stuff in the car has been stolen in the Avalon chino hill
    Suhang L.

This is my second time my stuff inside my car has been stolen in the Avalon.Every residents in Avalon need to be careful, Second time!!!The thief break the window to steal my bag and use my credit card to go to the corona walmart to shop around 491 dollarThe chino police do not care, they said that l need go to corona police office. They do not want to check the camera. Avalon still does not care too, they said l can not check the camera, only police can check the camera. The problem is that police do not want to waste time to help me.l feel so scared that may be third time, or fourth time in the future

Inside air is toxic due to poor window seals and non compliant marijuana smokers.

We woke up at 4:30am to the marijuana smoke that seeped into our unit. Neighbors were in loud argument. It is the second marijuana smoking incident in the last 30 days. I thought it was getting better for a little bit, but this seems to be the end. What a costly hassle moving in mid year especially when coronavirus is going around. We will probably consider Lewis locations or townhome rental instead this time.

20' high living room ceiling. Lots of natural sunlight

Thank you Selena and Fola for helping me make the decision to move to Avalon. Selena really took it upon herself to customize the apartment search to exactly what I was looking for, tailored to my everyday life. My apartment search latest 5 days before I found the perfect apartment at the Avalon. I had visited multiple apartments in Chino Hills, Rancho and Diamond Bar but I am going to tell you why Avalon is all around the BEST apartment complex in the area. 1. LOCATION - close to multiple shopping centers and in proximity of all major cities. 2. VIBE - Color scheme of the building is very modern and all finishes are in dark/ light wood. I applied last week on Saturday early morning and rolling up to the apartment I was in aw. Lots of trees, grass, and walking paths. At 8am I was surprised to see all the people out and about running in groups and walking their dogs. 3. Amenities- this complex has the BEST amenities in all of Chino Hills. Lounge area, swimming pool, gym, parks, and grill areas are the best of all apartments I visited along Butterfield Ranch and Chino Hills. 4. Apartment - new appliances, dark wood cabinetry, wood flooring, carpet in bedrooms, and amazing kitchens that have lots of storage space. High points for the large patios that bring in more natural light into the space. I chose a top floor unit that has 20' high ceiling in the living room over looking the mountains and park, Freakin amazing! If you are looking for more of an open feel I highly recommend checking out the top floor units that have the high ceiling feature, makes a heck of a difference. Also, I recommend getting a unit that has a tandem parking space and a garage included, save some mooolaa. Will definitely update my review half way into my lease. Excited for my new home. Thank you Selena and Fola! :)

They charged me for cleaning after this picture was taken during a move out. they also charged for new carpet. does this look dirty?

This place is the biggest ripoff ever! I lived here for 2 years and they jacked up my rent during my first lease. I was locked into a price for 14 months and they raised the price by $100 after the first 12 months. Then when i re-leased the apartment for 6 months the standard 12 month price went up by another $100 and then i got taxed for the 6 month price and had to pay $3000 a month! Then when i decided to leave they sent me a letter asking me to stay and the 12 month price went up $200 from that to $3200 with a 6 month price of about $4000!!!?? i looked online and the same apartment was only $2400 a month... So how did this math happen? It seems as if they were just trying to take as much money as possible from me. Move forward to now, i left the apartment to a much better life in Oregon. My family came and helped me and my girlfriend clean the apartment and fix picture holes in the wall and everything. we cleaned the fridge out, the microwave, oven, wash machines, all the baseboard, all the walls and floors and even used a steam cleaner on the one spot of carpet with a tiny stain on it. So after moving out i get a bill stating $750 in damages which was explained over the phone to be cleaning charges and replacing the carpet charge... first off the place was spotless so nothing was needing cleaning (please see my posted pictures for proof). second the carpet was in great condition and in other apartment complexes I've lived in, the complex replaces carpet on their own dime, after all its a fucking tax write off for them. So I'm sure they charged me and wrote off the amount from taxes and most likely didn't even replace the carpet. if they did then someone most likely pocketed that money. Also the gate was broken open for the last few months of my being there, my girlfriends car was broken into twice! The grounds smells like urine since dogs pee and nothing ever gets watered or cleaned and the front desk once withheld a package of mine for a couple months before "finding it". Stay away from these scammers and this place. its way overpriced for what you get and they will take your deposit money no matter what you do to the apartment. clean or not. i have pictures of how clean the place was so they cant tell me it was dirty. They are huge con-artists!

Take a look at the bird droppings on these cars, if you move here, expect the same

Issues will also only get resolved, depending on who you speak to at the office. It's also sometimes really difficult to get anyone to answer the phone. Jacuzzi is constantly broken, and they swear that the pool is heated, but it is freezing even in 95° weather. People are always smoking, even though it's supposed to be a non-smoking property. I've seen residents jumping the gate instead of using their pool... Just things like that, but I feel really cheapen the overall experience of living here. The property itself is beautiful and the amenities are great, especially the huge dog park and the complimentary drinks and snacks you can get from the office during business hours. Also, their gym is the nicest gym I've ever seen at any complex. They also do fun little things like free smores kits during the winter. The best part of living here for sure is the modern property and the people that live here!

Upon walking into the front of the property I could tell the Santa Barbara cares not only for its look but its name, I read the reviews online expecting a normal intro, but no... these guys went above and beyond to make sure the transition from our old place to our new was exceptionally easy and smooth as well as fun and exciting. We initially met Mason who jumped leaps and bounds to show us tons of different units in the sweltering sun on a weekend after hours and took his time to answer each and every barrage of question line ups we had, gave us all the insight as how to apply or what we needed to ensure a successful application and win of one of the homes as well as filled us with confidence in his and the teams staff. Mason was extraordinarily kind and helpful throughout the process yet also treated my wife and I with the upmost respect and awesome banter and laughter throughout each tour. The guy needs a raise. Stat. This gentleman could definitely sell ice to an Eskimo, however, picking through the weeds, Mason went out of his way to make the process of picking a home fun and thrilling and even took the time to answer some misc. questions I had after hours whilst applying. Genuinely impressed. The other members of the staff Elissa (may have spelled it wrong) and Esteban were also involved with the I've in and they were absolutely stellar. Everything we needed they were within arms reach at any moment and gave us tons of support through navigating our wedding, the baby, and the move? We had our hands tied. The Santa Barbara chino hills staff members are seriously top notch and I have nothing but grand things to say. I don't trust some of the negative reviews on here. These guys kick major a**. If I could hire them on my sales team for construction I would in a heart beat. As for the maintenance they seem to have an army, and I met all of them pretty quickly so I didn't quite catch a name. But the fellow I walked through and inspected with was also phenomenal and I could tell that him and his team took the upmost pride and care about keeping the place looking fresh and clean. I seriously have no complaints. Every team member was more than pleasant to talk with and gave us ful confidence in our new residency here. We were looking to move out of California till we found this spot. We will definitely be calling it home for quite some time. Thank you to all the staff, if I forgot any names, forgive me, it's been a wild few weeks. If I could leave 10 stars I would. This is THE community to live in, in Chino Hills. And I've seen them ALL. GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION, DISAPPOINTING REALITY…read more.. I lived at Capriana for two months and want to give a fair, no-nonsense review of my experience -- the good and the bad, and why I ultimately decided to move. The Good: 1. The staff here is excellent. The ladies in the office were always friendly, professional, and did their best to accommodate me. Never once did I feel dismissed or brushed off. 2. Amenities are solid: decent gym, nice pool, dog park, (very small) food trucks, (way overpriced) Amazon package lockers (huge perk if you get deliveries often). 3. Everything is app-based -- even opening the main gate for guests or delivery drivers, which I thought was a really convenient feature. 4. The grounds are generally clean and there's always plenty of guest parking, which is rare in many complexes. 5. The Nova income verification system was fast and easy compared to other communities that required printing bank statements or tax returns. The Challenges: 1. Noise: I had the misfortune of moving into a first-floor unit below a very loud family. Their toddler was active late at night, and with wooden floors and thin soundproofing, I rarely got a full night of sleep. This is the biggest reason I left. If you choose a first-floor unit, just know that sound carries a lot. 2. Mixed tenant base: Management shared with me that a portion of units are reserved for Section 8 housing. While this may not matter to everyone, I personally would have appreciated knowing this upfront before signing, since it can affect the type of community experience you have. 3. Dog waste: Despite stations and bags provided, some residents did not clean up after their pets, which detracted from the overall cleanliness of the property. 4. Garage issues: My garage remote broke multiple times and each fix took several days. Frustrating, especially given the premium rent price. 5. Price vs. value: I was paying close to $3,000/month for a one-bedroom with little sunlight and ongoing noise problems. For me, the experience did not match the price point. To management's credit, they allowed me to break my lease early without penalty once it was clear the noise situation wasn't improving, and I appreciated that. Overall: Capriana is a beautiful property with great staff and amenities, but the thin walls, premium rent, and tenant mix made it a poor fit for me personally. Others may have a much better experience depending on their neighbors and unit choice, but I couldn't justify staying given the circumstances.

Any time we've had a question or maintenance request, they've handled it quickly. The complex itself is well kept. The landscaping crew comes weekly, and the pools and gym are always clean and working properly. For my exercise people, the gym is small and does not have free weights, but it does have a decent selection of Life Fitness equipment so you can get a solid routine in. My favorite thing is the 1ft wading pool because my toddlers get to splash around all summer without me having a heart attack. I moved here from LA County and it feels astronomically safer in this area. I actually feel comfortable knowing my family is safe. Security rotates between this complex and the one around the corner, and the gates are locked all day Sunday and during the evenings the rest of the week. The tenants are a mix of students, single adults, and families, and everyone I have met has been respectful and quiet. We researched all the apartments in North Chino Hills and would pick this one over and over. They're spacious, in unit washer/dryer, quiet, family friendly, and an amazing team of employees. The laundry room hardly has any washers and dryers operating, that is why the manager will avoid showing you the walk room when they give you a walk through of the complex. The filters are filthy and filled with cat and dog fur. If someone parks in your space don't expect management to handle it he will ask you to call the police and show your lease as proof instead. Also the parking spaces are far out from your apartment complex so you will have to walk most of the time and if you have visitors they will need to park outside as a result. As of recently the crime in Chino has increased and there are homeless people that come from the 711 next door and dig in the dumpster or do drugs on the side of the building. Julie & Brandi were incredibly helpful to us during the move in process. Pros - Staff is attentive and welcoming - Complex is gated and has security guards - Plenty of parking and 1 carport is included - Spacious layouts, well thought out floor plans - Washer dryer hookups (stackable only) - Downstairs units have a spacious patio with walls tall enough to offer privacy - Laundry facilities on site - Each apartment comes with a very cute gas fireplace, something I didn't see at any other apartment complex during our hunt - Water and trash included in rent - Easy access to garbage disposal - JACUZZI TUBS in the bathroom!!! Another pleasant surprise that I didn't see at any other complex - Very quiet and peaceful complex, neighbors are friendly but mostly keep to themselves - Grounds are beautifully maintained - Jack and Jill bathroom layout makes 1 bathroom very doable - Instant 60 freeway access, HUGE and underrated plus - Easy access to food and gasoline - Storage units available for rent on site Cons - All units have carpet (this might not be a con for everyone, I just prefer linoleum wood floors) - Storage space is limited to large closets - Apartments can be dark inside during the day depending on which direction your unit is facing - No play area for young children (though there are several great parks within a 5-10 minute drive) - There are no ceiling fans in the bedrooms and you will need to bring your own lamps for each room as there are no ceiling lights other than the lights and fan in the kitchen All in all I would highly recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable place to live in Chino. You can tell the staff and management take pride in this community. Our experience here has been wonderful. For the price, it doesn't get much better than Somerset Apartments.
