We are in the process of doing several projects in our home that require tile and other types of flooring. Avalon Flooring has a huge showroom with so many options to choose from. All of the samples have the pricing right on them which is nice if you just wanted to do an initial browsing trip. The sales staff let's you peruse on your own but are readily available once you need someone. We worked with Nick (@ the Egg Harbor store) and he is extremely knowledgeable and very good at providing guidance in helping the indecisive in making decisions. His patience level is bar none and he answers every question as you go along in the ordering process. Our Dreamweaver Carpet looks great, but the fibers have a horrendously bad odor, like a dirty hamper. We noticed a smell about two weeks after the new carpet smell dissipated, the weather got cold and the house got closed up. It took us weeks to figure out where the smell was coming from because it permeated the whole house. We never thought a brand new carpet would smell like dirty socks. We tried baking soda to no avail. I asked their "Customer Service" pen pusher if Avalon would help us recoup the cost of professional cleaning to try and remove it. You'd think I asked her for her firstborn child by her attitude. First, she tried to tell me the carpet came directly from the manufacturer. Not true. It was installed early because it came from another store's stockroom. Then this chick insinuated I was lying since "no other customers with carpet cut from the same roll" had complaints. She tried to blame me because I waited ten weeks to call. Then she tried to make me feel like my order of $3200 was insignificant. Finally, she put it on the manufacturer and said I should take it up with them. Our brand new carpet makes our house smell like a hamper full of dirty, musty clothes and Avalon Customer Service basically said too bad, it's your problem. If you won't stand by the products you sell, DON'T SELL THEM. read more

We first went to the store on Route 72 and were greeted with helpful suggestions for our shore home. Sharon was pleasant and professional. She ordered a home visit for final selection and measurement for both an area carpet and for wall to wall steps. After making our selection the carpet was ordered. The "measurer" was knowledgeable professional and cordial even with masks on. Sharon ordered exactly what we needed. Ordered floor tile on sale. I was given a sale price of 2.39 sf. Total price was 249.95, and I paid a $200.00 deposit for the order (Have receipt marked as such). After 5 weeks I was told tile arrived. When I went to get and pay the balance I was told they made a mistake, and the price was 3.59 sf.. Although I had my 2.39 priced order, they refused to honor it. They never emailed me about a wrong price, or let me know when they called me to pick up order. Complete bait and switch! Refunded my deposit and I will never do business with them again. BEWARE read more

Visited the store 3 weeks ago for a multi-room carpet / hardwood purchase and after 15 minutes I was never greeted or approached for help. If they were busy I would understand, however there were 5-6 sales people gathered together talking and laughing doing there own thing. There were 3 or 4 other potential customers in the store and they were flying solo as well. Needless to say, terrible sales people with no regard for customer service, this was on a Saturday....you would think they would want to make money! I walked out in disbelief knowing I would never give them my business nor recommend them. I'm in sales and customer service myself and those people wouldn't last a day. Management needs to train their employees and then actually manage them. Went to a competitor around the corner and they were on their 'A' game, AGGRESSIVELY open to help customers and sell product! read more
