Worst experience ever. My blood was drawn 2 times for my physical and they misplaced the blood or didn't draw it enough all the necessary tests.. They called me again the 3rd time to draw my blooad again, when I asked about what happened to my blood that was drawn the second time, I was redirected to some other team and put on Hold for 10 minutes with no answer. I moved here 6 months ago from Tampa. I do have some chronic health issues and need to be monitored. They were great at first, but things have been going downhill. I had labs done and needed 2 redone, that was awhile ago, I've called them, but no return call back. Not sure if I'm ok or not. Last appointment I had a written list of issues, she did not have the time for me. But, of course I paid full price. I keep getting infections and no one seems concerned. I have yet to see a Dr. I always see the NP. It's strange to me. I went to Duke to a few specialist and I would do anything to have a primary care Dr and office like them. What a difference in practicing medicine. I'm sure I have another infection, so here I go calling them to get in. Pray that all goes well or I'll have to find a recommendation for somewhere else. I relocated here from Clarksville, TN and the Provider was very nice and professional. I needed to establish care due to me needing my meds refilled b/c I didn't have insurance at the time. The provider told me to call her when I needed a refill on my maintenance meds. I called in a request on a Wed. when I didn't hear anything I then called on that sunday only to find out that the request wed. didn't get put in. So now I am without medication and my provider was on vacation. When I called on that monday they told me I would get my script sent in by the end of the day. They then called me that evening about 7pm telling me that I needed to be seen AGAIN for a refill. I was then upset that I paid 200.00 out of pocket to establish care and now being told I have to be seen again for my refill that I never got in the first place. Seems like this place is out to get money and doesn't care about patient care. I'm self pay at this moment until I can get insurance. This has truly been a nightmare to try and fill a regular medication, not a control substance. The guy I spoke to on today was not nice and was very unprofessional and didn't even care about me being with out medication. I would not recommend going to this office due to the lake of patient care. read more

Absolutely disgusting supervisor! -she's a drunk and also takes Ativan Oh how do I know because she was bragging about it! ( so called picking her kids up while trying to rush a serious problem off the phone) (just a reminder the first time I went there everything was OK. My provider told me everything was good. Everybody was friendly until I met the supervisor or asked for my refill on my prescription that I've been that her employee my provider said everything is OK as far as record wise where I used to live I couldn't do anything about as far as getting my records only giving her my Social Security number and I told her that from the beginning before we started anything and it was all OK) Laura where's my provider also rude and judgmental! someone trying to work on their mental her and her employees took me as a joke after they took my money. Here is my story I will never go here again I was told by my petitioner that everything would be OK as far as getting my records that I wasn't able to get I was OK with being reevaluated but instead was treated like a attic I'm self-pay client who just went through a divorce and was trying to do things on my own thought I found a good place just to find out that the supervisor is a drunk and a pill head herself. I was taking off of my prescriptions that I've been taking just for her to tell me that she takes Ativan and has a couple sips of wine so she understands what it's like if she doesn't have her medication lol as I'm sitting here, looking like wow that's crazy they proceeded to take my money $170 which I do have a receipt for and basically told me to kick rocks. She told me her staff was witty. so I shouldn't take it personally that they was being rude to me she tried to rush me off the phone as she was telling me she had to go pick up her kids a.k.a. go get drunk. I had to have my gall bladder removed. It took Avance 11 days to get my lab results. I should have been immediately started on an antibiotic. My white blood cell count was 17.4. My gall bladder was completely obstructed. I could have died from sepsis. I strongly encourage you to find a good doctor. I saw a nurse who did not follow through on my care and I'm lucky to be alive to write this. I was told my nurse and the office manager were on vacation when I called begging for help. I was hesitant to leave this review because I wasn't sure if it was my place to do so. But after further consideration, I feel that it is. Ethics matter in medicine. Went in for my annual checkup which happened to be my first visit there. it was quick and easy. About 10 minutes. Was given my recommendations. Standard stuff. All covered by preventative care on my insurance - or so I thought. A few weeks later I got a bill for about $16. I didn't question it much. I Just paid it. After calling my provider to find out what this was all about, they informed me that the doctor billed for something called "Annual Alcohol Dependency Screening". I had never heard of this. And there was certainly no discussion of alcohol other than him asking me if I drink/smoke/do drugs/etc. that you would get at your annual physical - as I have at just about every annual I've ever done. So apparently, that one question was invoiced to my provider for $20. The carrier made them discount it to about $16 and I got the bill for it. First of all, that's just a question that was asked, not a "screening". Not sure how that was a separate service while "Do you eat red meat" wasn't billed as an "Annual cholesterol diagnostic". Second, this is an annual, preventative care, physical. It's only supposed to have things that are covered by preventative medicine. I would think if he were going to perform such a "screening" then he'd at least have the courtesy to inform me that this wasn't covered and that I would be charged for such a screening. I thought about calling down to fight it but I figured, he went to medical school. He's smart. He knew what he was doing. He can keep it. But I hope the $16 was worth losing our entire family from your practice. We will not be back. We're moving on to a doctor with better ethics. I'm giving them 2 stars because I did have a good experience with their dietician that I saw several times, however, he's left that practice and moved on. So, you won't be seeing him if you decide to use those services. Also, their new dietician is all the way in Fuquay so if you do go to this Apex office, there will be no dietician services offered there anymore. read more

So, I am not at all happy about their Covid policies. Anyone and everyone can come in and out at anytime. Any other place I've been into makes you call, and wait until you're called in. This is an unacceptable practice for a place that tests for Covid and highly irresponsible. I went to Apex location (has been the patient at their Morrisville one for years) for COVID test after making sure the test is covered with my insurance (multiple times). I am surprised to get a bill of 177$ for it. Time to change to a better service provider. read more

I was quickly escorted into an examination room where I sat for 45 minutes. After this long wait, I was told the doc would not see me because he said I had potential Covid symptoms. I was told to wait in my car and someone would come see me. I said no thanks, I'll go to Urgi. Then I got a bill. I called and said I should not have been billed. They said fine, but then I got another bill + a late fee the following month. Go somewhere else. These are not good people. And there are so many other options. I've been going to Dr. Alexander for about 4 years and find him to be one of the best physicians that I've ever encountered. The new facility is very beautiful very clean well-organized and the rates are very reasonable even without health insurance. Called in right after they opened at 7:30, needing an appointment for flu like symptoms. (I'm a new patient,) They were able to see me at 10:00am. Filled out my info and paperwork online before arrival. Showed up at 9:45am, and was taken back in around 10:05am. Once into the room, it took a while before the actual doctor, Amy Tammenga, came in. They had to run a few tests. Was in the facility for about an hour and a half, a little longer than I wanted, but everyone was very nice and I appreciate them getting me in so quickly. Will definitely be back and plan to use them as my primary doctor. read more

Horrible. I have given Avance Care so many chances. The practice manager at the front desk is rude. The practice will try to charge for everything. You will be charged $28 if you have a visit for a cold and ask about something else that is bothering you. You will be charged $50 for a mental evaluation, when it's on their computer, Never again, my family is done. They don't deserve any ratings.. My husband had a great experience here, so writing on his behalf. He saw Dr. Sharma and received excellent care as well as kind, efficient service from everyone ranging from the front desk staff to the medical assistant. The patient portal is also great and the ease of booking online as well as availability of after hours care and telemedicine care if needed is very convenient. He got into the system as a new patient late morning and had an appointment for a visit at 12:30 pm. I want to say that I never met such an outstanding group of individuals in my entire life. I appreciate Avance Care/Apex so much. When I moved from Maryland to North Carolina I just lost my mother and then six months later I lost my sister whom I lived with. I was devastated and Avance Care was there all the way. The brilliant and loving staff called and checked on me weekly to make sure I was okay. I went into a major depression that lasted for seven years. During this time, Dr. Steven Alexander and his staff showed me I mattered and I will treasure what Avance Care had done for me forever. Patients MUST be their own advocate at this practice - proceed with extreme caution!! I have worked in healthcare for over 17 years and I know what good solid health care looks like. This terrible office is the epitome of everything wrong with corporate run healthcare. My family physician joined this practice not even 30 days ago and since then my care has been seriously compromised. I was accused of taking a medication by a gentleman working at the front desk in front of a very busy waiting room - MAJOR HIPAA (PRIVACY) VIOLATION, that was later proven by more detailed lab testing to never be in my system. At that moment the front desk representative informed me, again in front of a full waiting room, that the provider was stopping my current therapy cold turkey and unfortunately the provider was simply to busy to see me or speak to me that day. I was just going to have to wait a few weeks for my lab results to return. Again, knowing what I do about the medical field, it NEVER takes weeks to get lab results back! Not once did the office show any care or concern for 1-there supposedly being something in my system that HAS NEVER been in my system before and 2 - the physical repercussions that I experienced due to their negligence and uneducated lab staff. I was NOT treated as a patient - only punished over unfounded and proven wrongful accusations. After 9 years of history with Triangle Family Care it has been made painfully clear to myself, my family, and the 6 other families we refereed to them for care, that if in crisis- this practice and these doctors are NOT going to help you. They will be losing 7 families they once cared for - and I guarantee we aren't the last. I will continue to take every opportunity I can to share my story. Healthcare cannot turn into this cattle call of boxed treatments. This was inhumane and should NEVER happen to another patient. read more

My primary care person transferred to this facility after the facility she was at merged with Avance Primary Care. I have nothing but great things to say about care provider. However, the care facility itself, I could do without. While their website says staff is available for telephone calls during regular office hours, they are not. The facility did not send in a prescription to my pharmacy. I attempted to call to find out about the prescription and only got automatic answering. There was no option to choose that you would like to hold until someone is available. After 15 minutes of pushing buttons trying to get a person on the phone, I finally drove to Avance Care in Apex and talked with the office manager, who did not tell me why the prescription had not been called in. He stated that sometimes everyone is busy, therefore you are not able to get a person on the phone. In short the office manager clearly demonstrated he did not care about the mistake and just wanted me to leave. This was a big inconvenience for me, since it takes me 25 minutes to get to my pharmacy. While my pharmacy is out of the way for me, I go there for the personal attention they give to their customers. It is sad that Avance Care does not provide the same level of service. To get a simple prescription took me over 2 hours of my day, due to Avance Care's lack of service. In addition, the medication I was getting was an asthma medication. Good thing it was not for my rescue inhaler. read more
