Where's the "care" in healthcare? It's incredibly disheartening when healthcare professionals lack care and compassion. I was dismissed and belittled by the front desk staff at this office. The Doctor is sweet, kind, and accommodating. It's unfortunate that all other interactions with the support staff are negative, condescending and unwelcoming.Compassion can't be taught, but perhaps a refresher on discretion and professionalism. read more

I booked an appointment last fall for a new patient visit. Multiple calls from them the day before making sure that I was going to arrive on time. Day of my appointment I show up finish my paperwork. Wait about 10 minutes go upask if I'm going to be seen they go back another couple minutes. They'll be out to get you in a minute. Another 15 minutes go back up. I need to get back to work. Oh you should have booked yourself 3 hours for this appointment. I asked to reschedule because I needed to get back to work. She's scheduled me for 3 weeks later. show up. Oh we meant next month. For those of us who are done with childbearing and don't need OB, I'd like to recommend a fantastic urogynecologist. She and her female partner Dr. Durrett do all regular gynecological care as well as the dual specialty of urology. Their staff is great and their office is really beautiful, if that sort of thing appeals to you. Oh wow! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Durrett!!!! She is a great doctor, she understands that you can't take a day off just to visit the girl doctor. The staff and receptionists are all really friendly as well. Dr. Durrett has an excellent bedside manner. I have to say, I am pretty picky about doctors - especially for the girl parts. But let me say if all doctor's offices were this fabulous, I don't think I would mind going so much. First, the staff is very attentive, nice and subdued. Second, the waiting room is cushy with the nice couches, soft lighting and real magazines worth perusing. Not that you will have the time. After only waiting a few minutes, I was whisked to a pre-check area, answered questions and had my BP taken and finger pricked for a quick iron test. Next thing you know I am in the room and my exam is completed. The doctor is very straight-forward and quite comforting at the same time. They don't rush you through or anything, but they seem to dawdle at all. Time is money and the last thing I want to do is spend half a day in a doctor's office. I would give them ZERO stars if I could, this office is a complete mess: the staff is rude and incompetent, the facilities are crammed and very uncomfortable (the cubicle for taking blood pressure etc is so small you practically sit in the nurses lap), their billing practices are impossible ( they forget to send you bills and then you hear from their collection agency!), both the nurse practitioners are mean, rushed, and does not care about their patients ( they don't bother to read through you paperwork - one assured me that I could not possibly have something that's already prooven and documented in the paperwork she was holding...) - I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! It took over a month and several calls for them to be able to fax my paperwork over to my new doctor - save yourself the trouble and get an appointment anywhere else but here! read more

Never had a good experience here. i would have switched immediately but my insurance charged me a $250 "new patience" fee that i did not want to pay twice. Didn't seem to care at all about me hormonal imbalances... which if you've ever had any know how much that can effect your life. Currently on hold and have spoken to 3 different ppl who are all telling me they by no means can even refill 1 month more of my BC without my annual... and they don't take UHC anymore so I'm in a bind and have been off BC for a week now. Denying this request is going to cause me to basically start the process over. Also, their answering machine is constantly on during business hours. They seem to leave it on well past the lunch hour and shut it off before 4:30. read more

I've been a Patient of Dr. Durrett for over 5 years and I've enjoyed her and her office staff well until she hired Jenny ( the office manager) and Jessica ( the nurse Practitioner ) ... Jessica really doesn't know what she is doing at all she shouldn't be allowed to see patients with out de durrett in the room standing next to her at all times! I recently had the iud put in and called to ask for an prescription for BV .. Jessica tells me to goto target and get an over the counter Ph balance boric acid .. I'm like ok 30 days later I go to the office and Jessica is the only one available , I'm telling her the reason I want the iud removed and it's all the symptoms of Bv she removes the iud and goes oh you have a BV I said I told you this last month so basically you're just wasting my time.. Now Jenny is the most rudest office manager I've encountered argumentative and out right rude! I'm currently looking for a new OBGYN read more

All the reviews that I previously read was inline with my experience... I was in search of a new OBGYN. I read all the wonderful reviews on how great Dr. Mora was. I learned that she takes her time with each of her patients and provide details in a way that normal people (outside of the medical field) could comprehend. For my first appointment my husband accompanied me, not only did she speak to me in detail, she explained every thing regarding my; fibroids, menopause, and weight gain in detail to my husband as well. She answered my questions and his. At that very moment, I knew I had found my new physician. I immediately felt more comfortable with her. Dr. Mora ran extra tests due to my spotting she wanted to make sure it wasn't cancer, it wasn't. I am 47 years old and Dr. Mora is the only physician that has sat down with me and explained what is going on with my body and why. Dr. Mora is all that and three bags of chips! I've been coming to this office now for at least 12 years or more. Dr. Durett was my doctor for years than I start seeing Dr. Mora and a time or two saw the Nurse Practitioner Jessica. The whole entire staff are very Warm friendly and very Professional! They make me feel like a Priority when I come there. They always ALWAYS have a big SMILE and will go out there way to make you feel comfortable. I've never like going to the gynecologist it's so uncomfortable the pelvic examination and all YUCK! I don't normally take the time to write reviews on Yelp, but because of the HORRIBLE experience that I had at this office I felt the need to let other people know. I had several appointments at this office. During the first appointment, they took blood without giving me a reason why. The P.A. then made several off putting comments to me during the appointment and spoke to me in jargon I couldn't understand. She was rushing through it so much that I agreed to go ahead with a test. I had brought in herbal supplements that I had been taking and the didn't even look at them - just told me to stop taking them. The day of the test was much the same, hurried through all the motions. A few days later I was experiencing serious symptoms, and tried to call to speak with the doctor. They informed me that the doctor had to have an appointment with me to go over my results even though I was extremely ill. The receptionist told me that she was "on vacation" and that she wouldn't be able to be reached. The P.A. finally called me back and gave me the same, practiced explanation that she gave me in the first check up. I already had decided that I was never going back to this doctor, and then I started getting all the bills for the blood work that they didn't explain why I needed to have done, as well as the procedure. I paid my blood work bill on time, but then got a past due notice on a bill that had never come to my mailbox. I tried calling and explaining but the billing department had no idea why they hadn't sent it and re-mailed it. I paid my bill over the phone and asked for a receipt. A few weeks later I got a letter from the creditors. I just tried to call the office to ask why I would be sent to the creditors when I paid my bill on the due date stated, but of course, their office is closed on January 3rd at 3:30 pm on a Wednesday. I'm appalled at this horrible doctor's office and will warn every one of my friends to NEVER go here. I would advise everyone to avoid this place. read more

Once you are able to speak to someone and make an appointment it is ok. The nurse practitioner was nice and professional. After that, it goes downhill. The billing department is the worst. They never call you back. When you do call them back to verify payment, its like their ledger is done on paper. They referred my account to collections for $33. I will never come back here again. I have been a patient of this practice since and before Dr. Durrett became a member of it, and for another twenty years before Dr. McDaniel took over Dr. Pentecost's practice, a total of over forty years. Yesterday I received a form letter in the mail stating that my business was only welcome if I became a cash paying patent. Before this letter I would have given both Dr. Mora and Dr. Durrett five stars, and the office three stars. Now I feel betrayed by the doctors I trusted. According to the letter I received, they have done this because of the costs associated with the regulations connected with Medicare. As a 25 year old suffering with endometriosis, cysts, and fibroids, I had such difficulty finding a GYN in Atlanta who could address my problems in a compassionate way. Dr. Mora changed all of that! She is truly understanding and takes me at my word when I tell her what symptoms/pain I am experiencing. She is patient and is willing to run the tests necessary to get to the bottom of things. I ended up having surgery with her and can honestly say that for the first time in years I feel completely better, and am finally able to live pain free. I have been a patient of Dr. Lynley Durrett for many years, and I have always found her to be caring, compassionate, thorough, and very capable. She performed major surgery on me 4 years ago, and even though I was pretty much out of it, my family members were all impressed with her when she met with them. Every staff member I have had contact with has also been very friendly, professional, and caring, especially Dr. D's nursing assistant. I rarely have to wait after arriving at the office, which I greatly appreciate. I prefer a female doctor for gynecological visits, and I have found the perfect one in Dr. Durrett. I can't recommend her highly enough. She is a treasure. I also used to get mammograms in this office as well, which was a tremendous time-saver. read more

Hands down, the BEST gynecological experience I've ever had!.... I tried to get an iud with a physician at a different practice but was unsuccessful. It was painful and the physician was inexperienced at insertion with an anteverted uterus. I was about to give up but instead decided to try again with a different doctor. I went to McDaniel and Durrett and had a wonderful experience. After my initial consult and they checked my benefits to make sure I would be covered, they scheduled me for my insertion. The time I parked, to the time I walked back out of the office was 19 minutes!! Yes, you read the correctly!! That is simply unheard of!! The procedure was quick and honestly, virtually painless because Dr. Durrett is so skilled!! They do suck. The only person I have heard good things about is Doctor Durrette. I felt like a patient there and everything felt rushed as if they wanted us in and out as quickly as possible. The questions they ask seemed merely procedure because they don't provide you with any responses or feedback to them. I had Julie Sayers. I recommend a much better doctor. Dr.Cabanas, he is awesome. I went to this place hoping to get more insight from a female doctor, but my doctor's office is much better than this place. I was having issues with heavy bleeding after a ablation by another doctor and was also starting to have extreme hot flashes, and was not sleeping at night. The doctor I had seen just prescribed me hormones without checking my labs or figuring out why I was bleeding. I live 2 hours away from Atlanta, but a friend told me about Dr. Durrett and Dr. Mora, and having a good experience. I ended up going to this practice and had surgery last November, and I have not felt this good in 5 years! I am no longer bleeding and my hormones are balanced. I definitely agree with a previous review about this practice and how they do not care about hormone imblances. Even though I had been seeing Dr. Mora and the PA for two years, when I asked for a refill for the HRT I have been taking for years, they would not extend my RX the additional four months that I needed prior to relocating back to Atlanta. They drew a line in the sand and would not accommodate me because I did not have my annual pelvic with their office. I am a healthy woman that is not on any maintenance drugs and am very diligent about well-woman visits. I currently have a unique situation in that I travel between two cities. So rather than work with me, they basically told me to figure it out. I will never be a patient at a practice that has such little regard to my concerns. Do not go to this practice. The surgery scheduler goes above & beyond and really seems to care. Dr. Durrett & Dr. Mora did my hysterectomy and bladder repair and I was good to go a week later. Dr. Durrett and her staff deserve 10 stars! I have never had such a caring doctor. She always makes it seem as if I am her only patient. Her vast knowledge of her field proves that she not only has an incredible bedside manner, but she is studious as well. She always knows of the newest drugs and treatments on the market. I obviously had complete trust in Dr. Durrett to perform the surgery for pelvic prolapse. The recovery from surgery went well. However, after the recovery period and I thought I could go back to a normal life, my life has actually changed forever. The intimacy my husband and I have shared for 44 years has been taken from us due to terrible pain and "obstruction" (as I would call it). Dr. Durrett recommended estrogen cream and also a $3000 ThermaVi in-office 3-trip procedure. Worthless and a huge waste of money. So after 5 months, I got a second opinion from a highly recommended surgeon, and it was devastating to hear his summary after performing a sonogram. The pelvic prolapse was only corrected to a degree, it would be a long shot if the pain from scar tissue could be corrected, and the "obstruction" is permanent and is non-reversible. The doctor also told me that the type of surgery used on me is something that has been replaced because of the very problems I have been having. As if all this wasn't enough, I also learned that after the age of 60 (I am 65), it is recommended that the uterus and ovaries be removed if a female surgery is performed - to eliminate any chance of cancer in these organs. I asked Dr. Durrett about this during a post-operation appointment, and she said that this could have been done. Really??!!! Why wasn't it suggested then???? read more

Dr Durett is an excellent surgeon and good doctor. If that is important to you, then endure the office problems and go ahead. I think the surgery skills are more important to me than the staff...it is a constant headache for them to send my prescriptions after my annual visit..usually requiring about 3-4 follow up phone calls before it happens. Not sure why they can't get that part right. Also once I was 10 minutes late for an appointment and they refused to see me and charged me a missed appointment fee...while of course they have never seen me within 10 minutes of my appointment time..but these are the hassles that are common in doctor's offices these days and you have to decide to weigh the staffing against the expertise of the doctor. In my case, surgical skill was most important to me so I just have put up with the other..Dr Durrett came highly recommended by 2 experienced OR nurses so I went with that. read more

Went for years - started with McDaniel who retired. Stayed because of convenience. Just got worse and worse. Big turnover in nurses, HORRIBLE receptionist and insurance person. Recently had a Monday checkup and got very sick on Sunday and was unable to go. Because I didn't give 24 hours notice, they would not even let me reschedule before speaking with the insurance person, who never called me back. Even though it was a checkup I was having a medical problem and after leaving multiple messages was finally able to see a nurse practitioner who promptly told me I would absolutely need to have surgery and needed to schedule yet another appointment with the doctor to set up the surgery. I was also told that they would NOT take care of my pap smear and after arguing with the insurance person (who finally appeared out of reclusion) she finally admitted that it was because they wanted to charge for two visits (no matter how inconvenient it was to me). So I found another doctor who saw me immediately, handled both my problem and my pap in the same visit and told me surgery was way premature!!! So I will now write a check for the visit that I was too sick to go to and try to forget I ever was a patient at McDaniel & Durrett!!!! Unless you just want botox or lipo (they may treat those patients somewhat better since the HUGE signs are everywhere), DON'T BOTHER FOR REAL MEDICAL CARE!!! read more
