I really wanted to like this salon as I was at an Aveda salon prior to moving to the area. However, after more than one disappointment, I gave up. About an hour before my first appt, I got a call letting me know my stylist was behind by 30-45 minutes. I adjusted and got there when she was opening up. They didn't tell me until I was in the chair that the salon would be closing. I asked for a cut and partial balayage- the entire thing was rushed including using high heat to process. I left with an uneven cut and what turned out to be full balayage that was splotchy. The heat approach to the bleach completely damaged my hair. I called the manager the next day and she did try to make it right by getting me in with a different stylist. That stylist said it would take multiple appointments over months to completely fix it without further damaging my hair (after I spent $200+ to the first stylist) She did her best so I booked with her for a follow up. The day of that follow up, I got a call saying my stylist was behind 10-15 minutes. I had an appt after this so I showed up on time just to be sure I was there when she was free. 25 minutes went by and the stylist was still cutting the previous persons hair! I had run out of time to give without being late to my next appt so I told them I would just skip it. The woman at the desk said it shouldn't take a full hour so I would still be out at the same time as I had wanted to be. First- there's no way. Second- I was not about to have another rushed job done. There was no apology, no offer to re-book, no call from the stylist apologizing. As a patron, if I showed up 30+ minutes late, I would likely be forced to reschedule (for good reason). Clearly this location needs further training on scheduling and respecting the time of their clients. Overall, I would say to save your money! read more

My main issue with this salon was the price. I had a trim and highlights (without toner as requested), and was quoted $130 total. When I went to pay, I was told it would be $160! Because my trim was supposed to be $55. But, I overheard another stylist telling her client that they dictated the price of haircuts. I won't be back. The stylist was sweet and did a good job, and she looked so embarrassed when they confronted her. Confronting someone like that didn't need to happen, so I won't be back. read more

What a gem of a salon! It's clean, modern, and welcoming. The staff is very accommodating and sweet. Booking appointments over the phone is quick and easy, and they even send you text reminders so you don't forget! You can tell from the moment you walk in that everyone gets along and has a really great time working there. I first came to this salon last year and was seen my Ally Edwards who is amazing! But unfortunately she doesn't work weekends! She recommended Stevie to me and I'm so glad she did!! Stevie is great! She's a great listener! I can be pretty particular about my hair and she steered me in the right direction when I asked for a little bit of color around my face. I have quite a lot of grays and she covers them without getting any stubborn color on my face. I asked her to take a little length off and add some dimension to my hair and she did a fantastic job! I highly recommend booking an appointment with Stevie! She's really sweet and knows what she's doing. I've attached a photo of what Stevie accomplished on my almost black hair. After my first appointment did not go as I had hoped, I had been encouraged by her during my appointment to communicate my dissatisfaction, if any, so she could fix it. The following day, in speaking with her over the phone to set up another appointment to fix/change what was initially done to my hair, she was extremely rude and immediately made accusations of it being my fault. Poor customer service and accountability on her part. In hind sight, the services I requested were not her priority; she had her own way of doing things & did not consider my request as the customer. I called to make an appointment earlier in the week and on the day of my appointment Avantgarde called me twice. The first call was to see if I could reschedule since they had an opening, which I couldn't due to work. Then again a hour before my appointment to let me know they would be unable to cut my hair because the client before me had more hair than anticipated. While I appreciate the call. I find it very unprofessional of a salon to be unwilling to accommodate a confirmed appointment. I first stopped in to make an appointment for a hair trim and was immediately greeted when I walked in the door and my request was efficiently handled. There services are offered at different price levels. Since this was my first visit and I am picky about how my pixie cut is done, I said I wanted whoever did short hair well. They send text message reminders of your appointment to confirm, which I always appreciate. When I arrived for my appointment I was immediately greeted again and offered a beverage from three different staff members while I was waiting. I was early in arriving and Diane was on time for the appointment. Diane did an excellent job in handling my cut... she first asked what I was looking for, how long since my last cut, and any special requests. I left very happy with my cut and the total experience. I'm giving a specific stylist 1 Star. Not for lack of trying, but merely for lack of experience. Marisa at Avantgarde really did a number on my hair. I asked for partial highlights and got damaged looking super hyper blonde highlights. Not to mention they start from the very front of my hairline back so they are growing in horribly.
