I called to book a Body Silk treatment here as part of Spa Week in April, not knowing what the treatment entailed. I spoke with Denise on the phone and she was incredibly sweet and knowledgeable, explaining every aspect of the service. She was so kind and motherly on the phone that any apprehension I had about trying a new treatment at a new spa was pushed aside.
The spa itself is rather small and more homey than opulent, but I kind of liked it that way. I felt a familiar sense of comfort, as though I knew whoever my appointment was with would take care of me. I was very much at ease the moment I sat down to wait.
The woman who performed the treatment was named Daniella, I believe, and she was very kind and explained every aspect of the Body Silk to me before I even got started. I was afraid that during allergy season, which I was unfortunately in the throes of at the time, there might be issues with any oils or scents lingering in the spa. But the light aroma wafting through the room was more calming than anything.
The room itself was small and upstairs, but the blankets and table were very comfortable and warm. There was no crazy, new age sort of music, but rather calming sounds that were so distant in the background, I can barely recall what they were. Daniella constantly checked to see how I was doing throughout the treatment, which was thorough, but gentle. Sensing my allergies, she would occasionally hand me tissues, as well, which was very funny at times, but helped relax me even more, knowing that she was being extra attentive.
She applied the scrub liberally and brushed it around my skin, wiping it away with a warm towel and warm water. Then, oil was massaged into my skin to rehydrate and moisturize. She repeated this pattern on each leg, arm, and my shoulders/neck. It was incredible and my skin felt SO smooth. I couldn't believe how fast the time passed, but I was really satisfied with the overall experience.
I truly felt pampered by the experience and was SHOCKED that my allergies were heads and tails better than when I first walked in. And they were better for the rest of the season too. I was amazed at what one Body Silk treatment could do for me!
They also featured a wide range of products at the spa for sale, including really beautiful pieces of handmade jewelry. But I didn't really get much of a chance to look at the time.
It was also a nice touch that I received a spa week gift bag that included a $15 gift certificate for a future massage. I know I will be back this month to use it and will likely try the swedish massage this time around! GREAT spa and amazing treatments! read more
