the salon was very good love my cut. they need to add a little more attention to detail when washing hair and making sure to meet clients needs and also very loud. My haircut is aweful. The layers are terrible. She did not let me see what my hair looked like before I left. If she did, I would have told her it was not what I asked for. I don't think anyone would walk away with such a bad job layering. My daughter and friends have all agreed that it looks weird. I am going to have to go pay someone to cut my hair even shorter to make it look better. She put something on my scalp that made it flake, even though I told her and her educator that I have scalp dander and treat it with special shampoo. read more

I walked in a blonde with highlights, wanting to keep my blonde adding golden hues, I walked out... a light toned brunette. Though the staff is very nice, I would never trust them to color or highlight ever again. What a horrible Mistake! And they didn't even offer to fix it for me. They were all just frustrated that my hair took 5 hours and wanted to go home instead of fixing their mistake(s). Sadly, I cannot recommend this place to anyone!! read more

Let me start by stating that I have been a faithful customer to the Aveda Brandon Location for 4 years and wish I could give a better rating. But unfortunately, in the last couple of months, the service quality along with the professionalism has seen a steady decline! During my last facial - which happened last week on my actual birthday - I was pressured by the educator to get the Plant Peel for an upcharge of $15. I had never gotten one but was already contemplating it for some time, so I decided to go for it. The student started to apply it mid-way of my 60-minute service when I started to sense she was having a hard time with it due to being of a thick consistency. Long story short, she made it too watery and got it in my eyes BADLY! I was afraid for my vision and could not see clearly for almost an hour. In the meantime, the student quickly wiped my eyes but offered nothing to wash it off compeltely. The educator that had pushed the extra peel was no where to be found, and the student did not call her, and I was stuck in the there for anohter 30-minutes with my eyes burning. After I was done, my eyes were still watering a lot and I was glad I had another appointment for my hair because I would not have been able to drive. Before leaving, I requested to speak to the director/manager and was told they were busy. I waited for some time but had to leave to pick up my son from camp. Then, just yesterday, my two teens went it for a facial and had a similar experience of being pressured for the extra peel services and experienced pain during extraction, nothing on their eyes, but at the end they pushed them to purchased products that were VERY similar and cost a lot! I went in to pick them up and again requested the director/manager but was told they were busy. I called later and got a hold of her, but her response was indifferent and unprofessional to say the least. Which is super sad since I am a black card holder and have points plus gift cards that I NEED to use for another 6 months or so since they will not reimburse any of it. Hopefully by then, the quality will return to how it was in the past few years, otherwise, they have lost loyal customers, 6 of us in this case, and whoever else I've recommended in the past, which I will be sure to inform them of the current state. read more

I would leave a 1 star however the student who performed my facial was AMAZING. during my facial the steam machine malfunctioned by spraying boiling water on my face instead of steam. the instructor did not care, I paid for my service and was offered a refund the next day. my face is bruised and blistering. I loved AVEDA but now I would choose. different place. please do not visit here! they don't give a crap if their faulty equipment injures you. you are just money to them read more

Overall had a very good experience, went for a cut and a style, just wish they had specified that a wash was included. Not a big deal got my hair washed twice. My student's name was Angie, she was very sweet and attentive, her instructor was great as well, very helpful. Loved my cut and style and definitely recommend if you have patience and keep in mind your hair will grow out, this is something for you. If you are SUPER nervous you will transmit this to the person working on your hair and that will only add more stress, please go and pay full price for a professional, not the place for you. read more

I had a shampoo and blowout with Abigail. She did a great job with my hair and was very considerate that I am tender headed. The place could use a deep cleaning, and they should ensure that there is warm water for the students to work with, as well as electrical outlets that keep their tools plugged in. I had the best experience here. Not only is this beauty school completely set up like a beautiful fancy salon and the students use all the amazing smelling Aveda products on you but I seriously got the best haircut. Mt hair was crazy long since I had not had it cut since right before Covid so I was able to have them cut 10 inches off to donate to locks of love. The haircut was great and so was the blowout. I also had my eyebrows waxed and tinted too! I had needed this pampering for so long It made my heart happy! read more

I love aveda products I use them often, Ao I thought I would find a salon close to me. After my search I saw the new Aveda Institute in Brandon and thought I would try them. I couldn't have got a better haircut at the most expensive salon in the city!! Shannel was the student working on me and her teacher was Brandon who was amazing! He took time to show her all the different styles and techniques to use. The cut most of it but shannel did an amazing job as well. They have all of the service's for the ladies (and men I guess) like color and treatments and the prices are unreal. My hair cut was $18 and I left a solid tip. If you are close to downtown Tampa it's only 5 miles away right on adamo past the mall. Super clean and cool and all of the students are supervised closely by the instructors. I went to have a touch up done and gave my formula to the stylist. When she was done i was told that they can't use 40 volume developer because its a school. Would have been nice if i was told before they processed me. So why take my formula if your not going to follow it? The instructor is to blame not the student. Im sure my hair was not lifted enough. read more

This is a 0/10 recommended for a salon. If you need somewhere to waste your precious time, Aveda institute is the perfect place!! I scheduled a simple hair appointment weeks ago, and when I go to the salon, they are like, "I'm so so so sorry, we are full today! we can schedule you another time though!" i have done this more than 5 TIMES, and it is just for a simple style and wash, and it looks like they have more "relevant" things to do. (Aka going on their phone or taking care of someone that most likely scheduled later than me.) when i told them i am no longer coming back, they got so pissed off and attempted to schedule a different time. so sorry, but I will no longer waste my time. I'm an avid client of all Aveda Institute's and this one tops the charts. They go back to the foundation of all Aveda salons with head massages and our massages while you wait for services to be completed. It is New Age modern and super comfortable in addition they are practicing all Covid safety precautions. While in Florida I've been a patron of the Institute in Orlando however may make the extra drive to return to the Brandon location. read more

I went to Aveda Brandon today and had my hair color done by Jenna. When I first walked in, I had multi bands of different colors on my hair along with a couple of inches of roots. After consulting with Jenna and her educator, Olivia, they transformed my hair to a beautiful cohesive over all color! My hair looks photo shoot ready, it feels great and just looks fabulous!
