As a veteran, I love how military friendly Herzing is, in fact it was their military advertising that brought me to them in the first place. They gave me the most credits for my military education out of any nursing school in the area. I took courses at three of their locations: Brandon, Dale Mabry, and Ybor, and I liked all of them. My main complaint was with parking. I don't know if it has improved since I left, but it was horrible trying to find a parking space, especially the Ybor campus. Since the campus is so large, Dale Mabry is a good place to take courses if you want to get involved. They have athletics, various clubs you can join, and Hawks Landing, their apartments, which have quite a few amenities from what I've seen. Unfortunately, I didn't get to move-in as I had planned, but I did get a glimpse of the apartments. The only problem was that the room and bathroom was pretty small, but at that time this didn't bother me much seeing as I just wanted to get out of my mom's house. Also, I was in the Honors Institute, which I highly recommend to anyone who desires a challenging academic environment, so my class sizes were decent and provided for more a personal experience than having over 100 people in a class. This was great advantage for me, particularly when I took my Public Speaking course. I don't do the greatest in front of big crowds, but this class made it more comfortable for me to speak in front of my peers. Every college and university have bad and good professors, and its no different here. I would highly recommend Professor Linsky of the English department at the Dale Mabry campus, and Professor Conrad of the Math department at the Brandon campus; these are only a couple of the great instructors I had while attending classes. As far as tuition is concerned, I loved it!!! I had Bright Futures, scholarships from the Honors Institute, and grants, so not only was everything paid for, but I got a nice refund each semester. I didn't have to resort to getting loans until I transferred to a four-year university. So, if you want a challenging, affordable, and memorable experience while gaining the professional and social skills to either transfer to a university or go into the work force, HCC is the place to go!!!

When I attempted to file a formal grievance, the college minimized the seriousness of the situation. The student is very much enjoy here. This HCC more into the liberal art especially the music department. It is very close to many restaurant. I would said the student is very happy tummy. The closer restaurant is the Spaghetti Warehouse. Cheap and good. It also has a library if the student needed to study. Why then I review the in YELP since I am not the student. Many of you may not know there is HCC main stage in the campus. The hold a lot of dance, performance art, music series in this campus. The recent I have attend is the combination event by the Southwest Florida Water Management Department and a contemporary dancer to present the saving of our water. She dance to express the important to save our water and not to waste. The other event is the bunch of flamenco in one stage. Spectacular. Live music with flamenco guitar with beautiful dance. Who can complaint this concert? It is only $10.

My daughter's safety was in jeopardy by an unruly roommate that had no respect for herself let alone the other roommates. My daughter told her RA and the Residence Office that guys were coming into the room at all hours of the night "expecting to get some". In addition, this roommate would lash out both verbally and physically (on video no less and yes the school is aware) and the school did NOTHING about it. When my daughter asked to switch rooms, they made her go through hell and back and guilted her for not problem solving herself. They upset her so badly that she was visibly upset and her other roommate had to come to the office to get her to calm her down. She finished out the semester and transferred out. Not only did I file a Title IX sexual harassment report that they buried but they also put a sanction on her so that she couldn't transfer easily to another dorming college. This school is not free. I paid tuition for my daughter to be harassed by her roommate and then her school. Shame on you UTampa. No wonder the retention rate is so awful. For those parents that worry about their children away at school, this is not the school for your kid.

I have had two instructors so far that have caused problems within the design program and I have reached out to Mr. Essie for help. He stated that no other students have complained and I explained to him that the students are afraid to complain due to the fact that they are not taken serious so they have given up. Just last week I reached out to Mr. Essie I'm confidence to explain to him that a new instructor he has hired has crossed the line professionally with his words to his students calling me bulimic and another girl large with that being said I do want to state that he was joking but it was still unprofessional. Essies direct response was that he didn't believe he would say that but he would talk to him. I immediately found out that he did talk to this professor and told the professor who said the complaint and the following week the professor announced to the class that it was me who made the complaint. I'm usually not a complainer but the school is extremely expensive and nothing is being done to better these students futures. Southern technical college I urge you to take a trip to your Fort Myers campus and look into all of the complaints and take action to provide your students a better future.
