I feel horrible for all the bad reviews Avenida has. I have not had bad experiences with this company. They have done my tax return 2 years in a row, and they did my husband's last year. I also have my insurance with Mercury through them. They have never done me wrong. I like that they are close in the area, and I like supporting small business. They handle it very quickly when I call on the phone, and if I need to email them they handle things quickly as well. I don't know the benefit of going through them except that they are able to compare different car insurances and rates, and get me the best rate. Now I have 2 cars insured under them. This is the worst possible place to go for anything. Take your business elsewhere. They are liars and make you wait forever when there are no other clients being helped. For example... I went to get car insurance with my dad and they said the next time we would pay, that our fees would drop. Yes, they dropped, but only because they did not include the first time start-up fee from when you first pay. There was no discount or drop in price, it was the same amount of money that had to be paid. DO NOT GO HERE. What really bothered me about this place: I paid supposed "tax preparer" Selene Sanchez $100 to file two income tax years for me. Meanwhile "preparing" my taxes, she was babysitting some kid next to her who was playing on some computer, very unprofessional. I needed to get an official tax transcript from the IRS to hand in to my school for financial aid. However, when my transcript kept not being available, I went to the IRS office in Downtown. I was finally told by the IRS that there was no record or file found of my taxes! This was after over a month of filing my taxes with Selene! I came to Selene and lo and behold, she had never filed my taxes! She blamed her fault on the system and never claimed responsibility, saying she "did her job". She did not do her job, because her job was to file my taxes! She also tried blaming me to call her when I wasn't able to get my transcript. Why should I have to call to question whether my taxes or not have been filed, when that is what I paid $100 for?! I should not have to be worrying about that because that's HER job, not mine. She assumed that as soon as my taxes were approved, I should be able to get my transcript. FALSE. I had to wait ANOTHER 3 weeks for them to be approved. She could not even print out a screenshot of my taxes being "approved" on her computer, saying "this isn't a mac". And when I said you can still do it on a PC, she rudely said, "well if you know how to do it then go ahead". So I went on her computer and printed out a copy of my own taxes being filed to the IRS. How can you work somewhere that requires you to know how to use a computer, and you don't even know how to print? I will never go to this place ever again, and I suggest everyone to do the same and stay away from them. read more

This is a place you don't want to business with, be on the look out !! There is a second location, is the same people at 333 High Land Av. National City 91911. I called Natalie on Sep 25, 2019 to cancel my auto insurance. Natalie seems to be the person in charge of the place. Natalie asked me to stop by or send something in writing. The email she gave me was the wrong email. I was unaware that I was still being charge through my bank account. I called last Thurday November the 14, 2019. I asked to speak with Natalie and instead she gave me this number 619 285-5555 to talked to her assistant. I asked the assistant to explained what was going on. Apparently my email was not received so I asked the assistant to send me an email so I could resend my request of cancellation, which I did right away. As of today Tuesday November the 19th, 2019 I have not had a call or email to tell me what's going on. Is this a way to run a business? Would you want to deal with this place? WORST PLACE TO GO TO !!! Don't sign anything BEFORE YOU READ THIS !!!! I wish i can select -Minus 10 stars my agent was Selena . I was a customer for 2 years i called back to upgrade the policy and she takes my call and return my calls right away. she took my credit card info and said she will call me back and give me the updates and email me files to sign. that same day i call her back to let her know i no longer needed her service because my wife added me to her policy. she said for me to sign the papers in order to get a FULL refund. i said to her but i did not sign anything or authorized the payment from my credit card how can i be cover already. she said i was ????? ok so i thought i'll sign it so she can file a claim to full refund . so i waited 14 days no reply (email) no calls. waited more days till my bills came . was charged in full $404 i emailed her about 3 times in the next 21 days nothing ...called the office and shes not available all the time tried to talk to other agent and all of then said to talk to her. Wasted time and more time . So i emailed her once again saying i've been patience so please help me resolved this issue before i have no choice but to dispute the charges via my credit card. .... that same day i got a check for $170 so i call her and she said sorry and she will fix that and call me back. Never heard from her again so i file and dispute , Got the money back from the bank after 2-3 weeks i was happy that the back was fare to me. Then..... today i found anther charge on my credit card for $355 I call the back and they said i have to pay the $100fee non refundable from the document Selena (Avenida Insurance) made me sign to get a refund.+ $60 Non refundable from the actual insurance company. and - the check they gave ($170) and the back will try to get the remain balance to me . I have no choice but to go along with it. Hope this will help some of you not to fall for this bad people. I came in to change my address made sure that I was still paying the same price monthly and when confirmed I signed the papers. A month later Im charged almost $100 dollars more I call back and am told I signed papers and agreed for that amount. This never occurred when I spoke to them I was met with nothing bad 0 cooperation and plain rudeness. If you want to overpay for insurance and deal with terrible people then this is your place to go. Avenida was able to find a great insurance company for me and I am very happy with what I am paying right now. How ever, It is always such a hassle trying to get help over the phone. It's hard for me to come in to get help when I need it since I work pretty much all day. Every single time I call, I am asked to please call back later OR they will return my call later because they are busy with another customer. Since they never return my calls and whenever I call back they are still busy with a customer- I ALWAYS end up having to come in at my inconvenience- for something that will take less than 5 minutes to take care of and can easily be done over the phone. I understand they are not robots and multitasking can be difficult sometimes but maybe they should consider hiring more people to improve the quality of service. read more
