I use Teague for my business insurance. My policy is extremely important and thorough and provides me 5 million in coverage in case one of my employees causes a problem when visiting a customer. We also have cyber insurance and a lot more extended coverage. I was with a San Diego carrier for a long time who went out of business without telling me and turned my account over to a non-broker. An update to my previous review. I was a little to quick to judge casting blame to the whole company for the faults of a few. Shortly after my complaints were posted I was contacted by the manager who was a very nice, pleasant, and extremely easy to deal with woman by the name of Leslie. She wanted to better understand my anger and concerns which I was quickly able to bring to her attention. Long story short again, after hearing my situation first hand she was able to quickly expedite my returns as fast as reasonably possible and to my satisfaction. All in all my experience with them went from me being very angry and annoyed to being a pleasant and easy to deal with ending that Leslie was responsible for providing. Purchasing insurance policy's has always been scary and overwhelming for me. I don't know the lingo or jargon used, making me waay outta my element. What I do know is customer service. I can tell you, despite my anxiety, the rep, Brian Ruiz, who I worked with at Teague, really went out of his way to make sure I understood what was going on. Straight up, I told him, "Brian, explain this too my like I'm 5 years old"; I mean the guy could've had me over a barrel if he wanted. He took the extra 20min to make sure, I was able to repeat, rephrase and reflect on everything we reviewed before purchasing a policy. I hate shopping for insurance as much as I hate telling the barber what my haircut measurements are - who the hell ever remembers or knows?? When I walked away from that phone call, albiet 45min later, I felt confident in my insurance coverages. I will not be looking over my back or wallowing in doubt about whether im covered for the next 6 months - cuz Mr. Ruiz took the time and patience to educate on my policy choices. On top of this, and I might be rambling by now, not only did I get full coverage, but at a competitive price too. I'm always leery about 'to good to be true' pricing. There were no outrageous discounts being peddled here; however they do their damn'est to offer competitive rates. I hate getting played for a fool, but love knowing I got a decent deal. The salesman was happy to sell us a policy, but Teague was unhelpful thereafter. Throughout several years of using this agency we had zero contact with our purported insurance agent, who was never reachable by phone. They made many careless mistakes such as misspelling our name and address. Each time we were left to call the insurance company's call center to fix Teague's errors. On one occasion Teague failed to follow explicit instructions regarding changes to our policy, unexpectedly leaving us to pay out of pocket for what would have been a straightforward claim. When we finally overcame inertia to search out new insurance we learned we were overpaying by about 30%. In sum, Teague Insurance behaved unprofessionally and failed to advocate for us as clients.
