He ended up telling me that I'd be better off staying with my current broker because I'm grandfathered into a well-priced homeowner's policy, but he was generous enough to share advice about our coverage (we were underinsured) and deductibles that the other broker had not reviewed with us. I wish we could switch, because having someone to guide us into appropriate coverage rather than just selling bulk cookie cutter policies would be amazing. He's a self-described "insurance nerd" who enjoys getting into the nitty gritty for his customers' benefit. And he is quick to reply to emails and he answers the phone himself. We were in dire straights as Allstate had cancelled our 30+ year auto policy relationship for a 10 day late payment (their new payment changes have been problematic for us as for others from what I hear). They had not even informed me that our auto coverage was going to be cancelled OR had been cancelled. Arg, double Arg!!! The only way I found out was when they refunded the bal of my policy back to my bank acct. (which was greater than the amount of the payment they cancelled us for. ** As you might know, not having current ins makes getting new coverage difficult even tho only ten days had passed. I had searched around for a home owners policy for an older house with a wood shake roof that was driving the premiums sky high. Some insurers wouldn't even touch it. I had always enjoyed an ample discount through my employer's discount with Met Life before I considered a home in San Diego. After reading his Yelp reviews, I decided to give Wayne McCormick a call. Wayne has been my insurance agent for they last 4 years and he is great. Both over the phone and in person at appointments (sometimes I can just walk in) he has always done the best he can for me. He gets me the best rates possible with the best coverage possible. Additionally, when I have forgotten to make premium payments I have always received a call reminding me and am able to make the payment with him right over the phone. This guy means business. Find his e-mail send him all your info (DL#, DOB, Occupation etc), and tell him what kind of coverage you want, list a price and he'll get you the best deal.
