We stayed here for a weekend getaway and this hotel did not disappoint! They have an amazing location on Rehoboth Avenue, right in the center of all of the things to do. The hotel was lovely, up-to-date, with great amenities like a pool, sauna, steam room, and hot tub (all of which we tried out). We also visited the spa while we were here booking ourselves treatments, which as a fairly frequent massage goer, I can confidently say was the best massage I've ever had! I needed a gel manicure while down for the weekend. I just had a manicure at home but the gel was peeling up on two fingers. My nails had recently experienced some trauma and it turns out the gel was coming up because two nails had split. I booked same day and was very happy with the experience. The mani room is clean and peaceful. She did a pretty good job considering she had to cut two of my nails farther back than expected once the polish came off and we could see what was going on. I will definitely keep this spot in mind next time I am in town and want pampering. read more

(I work in healthcare, ladies and gents). I also added on a salt scrub to my session as well.. so delightful to get exfoliated! A suggestion if you're booking for a weekend-- book in advance-- they fill up quickly! I think I've never had a worse looking pedicure or a more expensive one. It was a nice experience but price wasn't clear up front (various pedicure packages available, i though I was getting one for less, but got one for 95 dollars instead and they were not clear about this when booking) nails were recoated before undercoats had a chance to dry, undercoat was uneven, and though I was very diligent to not touch them for the recommended 3(!) hours the finish on my big toe looks all wrinkled and the finish pulled as it dried. The folks who worked there were kind and good at the other parts of the pedicure but the result wasn't worth the price. read more

I had a nice relaxing afternoon here one day while on vacation. I booked a mani/pedi and it was definitely a superior experience compared to a typical nail salon. They served me fresh iced tea with multiple flavors to choose from and gave me a hot pillow for my neck/shoulders. After the "massage" I could barely walk. I was injured. This was not a swedish massage; or a sports massage, or reiki. The massage therapist spent 90 minutes moving the table: head up/head down/legs up/legs down. Absolutely no manipulation of the knots in my muscles. She started me off on my back and then I had to roll over, and then I had to roll over again in a very disruptive session. She did apply hot towels, and moved the table to shift my weight on various pressure points until she seriously injured my back. I could barely stand up at the end, and when I turned around I noticed not only was my body kept in a "V" shape on the table, but the lumbar support had been removed. It had put all my weight on my hip points, which were already a little tight. When I told the massage therapist I was surprised about this, she actually got angry at me and said my back did not hurt and I didn't know what I was talking about. For the last two days I have barely been able to stand up straight from the pain. I can't get a return call from the spa. My back hasn't hurt like this for 20 years. read more

This was the worst massage I've ever had. The person basically just rubbed oil and lotion very lightly on my back. I asked for increased pressure and they didn't do it (I'm very sensitive too and they were touching me so lightly I couldn't feel a thing). They didn't rub my feet even though I asked and they touched my face and head with very strong smelling minty oil, it was uncomfortable. The decor was plain and it felt like I was in a doctors office instead of a luxurious spa. The two gentlemen at the front were very nice but there was nothing nice about the spa service. We were charged extra for a couples massage and were served flat champagne and chocolates as hard as stones. This experience was awful for so many reasons but here's a bunch! Avoid! read more

My only pet peeve is that while I am trying to enjoy my relaxing quiet time in a spa, I was sitting next to 2 ladies who talk loudly about their private lives in a small room. I would give them a 5 star but the deluxe couples massage package took it down a star. I could not say enough nice things about out actual massage and experience while we were actually in the spa. I would definitely come back for the regular couples massage only. BUT we got the deluxe package for $80 more that included what the website called a salt water pool and jacuzzi with a steam room and sauna. They did disclose it was shared with the hotel. However, this was not a good experience and took away from the actual quality massage. The pool was on the rooftop. We had to go through the hotel up the elevator to the rooftop to the community hotel pool which was not salt water. There were children screaming and the pool was just a regular motel like pool. The hot tub was dirty and the steam room AND sauna were both broken. The champagne was cheap. Overall would highly recommend they remove this option from the spa packages as it makes the whole experience less enjoyable and is really overpriced for the add ons. I made an appointment for 11:15 - a 60 min relaxation massage. After checking in a few min before my appointment I was sat down in the waiting area. Mind you the place is empty. No offering of tea, or water: I'm waiting almost 30 min till someone comes over and brings me to the treatment room. There is a unpleasant oder in the room. The room also isn't organized at all. Lots of products scattered all over the place, on the floor. Machines in the way of the table. The table Itself is cold, and smells like body oder. I was given a disgusting ripped basket to place my clothes in, that had dust and filth inside of it. Really not a good scene. The massage was mediocre at best, and short. Only 50 min, even though I'm paying for a 60 min service. It was best described as clinical, not relaxing, and the worst part for some damn reason the masseuse placed a ice cold wet towel on my back at the end of the massage. Amazingly careless. After leaving the room I was offered small glass of room temperature water, if only it was cold like the room, or the towel. After some reflection, I called a day later asking for a refund. I was told, the owner has to make that call, and well he will call me. I explained the situation, and it seemed that the person I spoke with was very understanding, and a refund would be given. Several days later, no phone call from the owner, I called again, and the same person told me, oh we assumed you spoke with the owner, we will remind him again. 2 hours later I hear from the owner. This guy then proceeds to make an excuse about how busy he was and forgot to call. I explain my request for a refund, and he proceeds to argue with me, saying he was watching the service on the security cameras, and I checked in late, and I only waited a few min. Not true, I was on time, and waited 30 min. He admitted the massage was short. No apology! What's more distributing is apparently you are being watched by this creep show while you are getting your services done. I guess he has hidden cameras in the place. Interesting. I'm not sure if that's legal, and it's certainly disgusting and weird. I was offered 10% off a future service. I declined this offer. I was more in shock that apparently I was being watched at this place. Stay away. There are many other options in Rehoboth with much more professional staff, and nicer experience. I will not recommend, or retain any future services from this establishment. Review Update: This is how disconnected the place is. I posted this review over a month ago, and it took till today 2/20 for the establishment to respond. And they lie on top of everything else. Stay away. read more

I only wanted a massage today so it was perfect. The service is outstanding- everyone was kind, happy, and helpful, offering tea and water upon arrival. There are two kinds of nail salons -- the slapdash, assembly line, bargain ones, and the better, spa-type ones. Avenue Apothecary is definitely the second. The manicure-pedicure room is quiet, soothing and small (no more than 8 customers at a time). My manicurist, Brooklyn, took her time with me, offered me a warm neck wrap and a cold beverage, and checked each step as she went (did I want my nails clipped? my cuticles trimmed? was the color okay?). My pedicure is flawless. Too pricey to make this a weekly stop, but definitely a "spoil myself" treat. read more

I spent an afternoon here with my wife as a way to just disconnect and relax for a little bit. We had the couple's massage package, and added a pedicure to the day as well. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We didn't find a sour staff member in the whole bunch, and we felt like we were very important to them. Love that. We were taking right back to a seating area where we were offered something to drink and to fill out some paperwork. As soon as that was completed, we were taken to the pool area, where we had our hour of just relaxing by the pool with chocolates and champagne. The pool is at The Avenue Hotel up on the third floor, so it's not just for the spa to use. Not a huge deal, but the pool was pretty busy yesterday with families / kids. We still enjoyed the hour of doing absolutely nothing! It's just not totally quiet, either. Besides the pool, there is a hot tub, sauna, and steam room. It was a nice hour. On to the massage. The room was very quiet, the lights were dim, the aromatherapy was good, and we had an excellent session. Both therapists were very good, and we had an excellent session. We did not opt for any of the add-on services. Finally, on to the pedicure. This is the one spot where we really felt that the day was a bit off. Again, the two ladies were very pleasant and the session wasn't bad, but it felt a bit rushed. There were two others in the room waiting for their turn, and our technicians kept checking the clock. I'm not sure we even got a full half-hour, and compared to pedicures we've gotten at nail salons, this was not nearly as "relaxing." I'm normally offered a clear coating on mine at the end, and I did not receive that. We both felt this was probably the one place that wasn't worth the money that was spent for the day. Would we be back? Overall, yes, we'd be back. We'd certainly do the package again, or at least the massage for couples part. I'm not sure we'd do the pedicure part again though. read more

As a treat for my graduation and my friend's 30th birthday I booked a "Deluxe Couples Massage." I explained while booking that this was for my friend and I but we were interested due to the extra spa time the package provided. This package involves a 60 or 90 minute massage as well as an hour in their pool/spa area which includes an indoor saltwater pool, outdoor hot tub, steam room, and sauna as well as a bottle of champagne and chocolates. We were greeted at the desk and sent back to the waiting area where we filled out forms with blueberry water and champagne. We were then taken upstairs to enjoy the spa area with our bottle of champagne and chocolates. The spa area was lovely and we had it to ourselves for the full hour. We enjoyed the robes and flip flops outside of the spa as well. The massage I received was hands down the best massage I've ever had. I am a runner and get a massage pretty regularly. I felt like my massage therapist focused on the areas I requested and did a spectacular job. We are already planning a return visit! read more

I called a few times to get info for my upcoming trip and each time the staff that answered were very patient and informative with all I needed to know. I signed up for a body scrub, body wrap, and 60 minute massage. They are currently running a summer special and this delightful 2 hour service was only $175! When you walk in, the storefront is an apothecary. They have lots of lotions, scrubs, candles, sprays, etc for sale. Very eclectic and welcoming. Jessica was my therapist and she was very professional and great at letting me know what to expect and then just letting me relax without all the chit chat.
